She cut mens hair all her life (me and my 2 other bros and 8 nephews) she was a very strict and ruthless critic of my haircuts. As for me, as long as it doesnt look foul, I really am not that picky. But, my mom will breakdown and look at every angle of my head, whenever, I commit a sin and got another barber to cut my hair. She only approved of 2 people in my 50 yrs of life. Al the barber in Vallejo (R.I.P.) and Dave in Benicia. She approved the part, the angle, the clean fade and not a hair was sticking out of place....I told you! Mom's was strict !! Unfortunately my mom passed away at the age of 88 about 6 months ago. I have now asked Dave to answer the call, as I know my mother would have approved and he is now my guy. Dave has lively conversations at the shop and he definitely tones down the convo and watches the language when youths are around. He and Josh (his son, also working there) both have worked w me, but, Dave just edges josh, by a hair. (Excuse the pun). Dave also has a great hot towel shave, its a throw back from back in the day. Even the aftershave cologne has a throw back smell... Always available, his place is clean, great visual appeal inside and 2 tvs to catch the latest afternoon mystery shows. He is moving into the digital world, so make sure to scan the QR code. Once he gets everyone on board, it's gonna be booked w appts.
