We wanted to reconfigure our kitchen floor plan to relocate our refrigerator, expand existing kitchen cabinetry, and replace an oversized, oddball island. The original cabinet maker had gone out of business, so in 2021 a three year search began. We contacted over 50 cabinet companies and contractors throughout the Panhandle up into Alabama, the majority of which frankly told us they couldn't match what we had. Only four submitted bids and thankfully J. Wade was one of them! He also suggested enhanced panels for framing our fridge and the island plus a unique corner base cabinet to make it more practical for access. I'm not very good with pictures; hopefully the "before's and after's" will speak for themselves. He did such a wonderful job that you can't tell where the 'old' cabinets end and his new ones begin and we are delighted beyond words! The literal 'icing on the cake' was the new crown molding he replaced above all the cabinets; such a beautiful final touch! He is a genuine craftsman!

Unfortunately, months passed with little to no communication, repeated delays, and no evidence that work had actually begun on our cabinets. Throughout the process, we repeatedly had to reach out for updates, and our messages often went unanswered for weeks. We were given multiple explanations for the delays, including a business move and other personal circumstances, but we never received photos of materials, progress updates, or any indication that our project was actively being worked on. After waiting far beyond the promised start date and making numerous attempts to communicate, we requested a refund. This entire experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. We trusted that our project would be handled professionally, but instead we were left without our cabinets, without clear communication, and without the service we paid for.

    Contacted them as I wanted an Overhead Door brand door installed…read more Installation was terrible, hinges were installed crooked on the door, they had to come out again to fix, and they still are not r 100%. Door came with steel wheels instead of nylon, they told me I had not specified nylon wheels - who uses noisy steel wheels when nylon ones are inexpensive ???

    ZERO-STAR REVIEW -- READ BEFORE YOU HIRE THIS COMPANY…read more If I could give this company ZERO STARS, I would. This was one of the most disorganized, frustrating, and unprofessional experiences I've ever had with any home-service company. 1. Hidden charges from the very beginning When they came out to do the initial measurement, they charged a $66 "trip fee." The problem? They never told me there was an "industry-standard trip fee." (which by the way, no other company charged me the "industry-standard trip fee" for quotes during the initial process). The charge simply appeared on my credit card. I had to call them to figure out why I had been charged. This was the first red flag. I should have run the other way as fast as I could. 2. They took my payment information -- but never actually ordered my doors. When I called to schedule installation of my double garage door, they took my payment info and told me: - My install was "scheduled" - Lead time was 5-7 weeks After that... radio silence. No updates. No emails. No status calls. Nothing. When I finally called to check on the order, I found out the truth: - They had never placed my order at all - had my payment info but didn't charge me. - They had never scheduled anything. - I was now five weeks behind because of their internal disorganization. 3. Poor workmanship + items not completed as promised Several things they said would be included in the install were not done. The exterior trim, which had been properly caulked before they removed it, was reinstalled without caulk. I was told, "We don't caulk that trim," even though it had clearly been caulked originally. They eventually returned to fix it after I insisted, but it should never have been an issue in the first place. 4. A ridiculous payment run-around -- weeks of wasted time Here's where things became even more absurd: At the end of the job, they again took my payment information, but they never processed the charge. Instead of simply billing the card -- the card they already had on file -- a member of their sales team began calling me repeatedly, asking why I hadn't paid the balance. When I finally connected with him, he told me I needed to call the office to make the payment. So even though they already had my card, I still had to chase them down to give them the remaining 40%. It was a complete waste of time and showed just how chaotic their internal system is. And after all this - they took my payment information AGAIN and NEVER charge me the 40% balance when the job was completed. 5. The worst part: an enormous unauthorized charge MONTHS after completion Fast-forward more than two months after the work was completed. Out of nowhere, I woke up to an astronomical, unauthorized charge on my credit card -- for MORE than the entire original quote, even though I already paid the 60% deposit down was back in September 2025. - No invoice. - No explanation. - No communication. - Just "WHAM" a massive charge with zero warning. At this point, it felt less like disorganization and more like financial recklessness. BOTTOM LINE This company: - Fails to communicate - Fails to place customer orders - Delivers inconsistent workmanship - Mishandles payment information - Issues massive, unauthorized charges months after completion If you choose to hire them, be prepared to: - micromanage every step - call repeatedly just to get basic answers - double-check every promise - monitor your credit card like a hawk I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. This was a stressful, unnecessary, and completely avoidable mess from start to finish.

    Shutter House was fantastic start to finish! Jeff promptly contacted me after leaving a message…read morethat I was interested in Plantation Shutters for my home! He came to my home and measured all my windows and went over all the options that work with my needs. My windows are different sizes in some of the rooms. I was very impressed with how he took his time showing me samples of the different styles and how the finished product would look. I had all my windows done 10 windows plus a picture windows done! They look great! They added a nice touch to my bathroom! The quality of these shutters is amazing adding value to your home. Easy to keep clean, no curtains to change. Just have to dust them, makes housekeeping a breeze! The installation took about four hours. They took all of the packing and original mini blinds and discarded them leaving nothing to clean up! Jeff and his wife make a great team, I'm 100% sure you won't be disappointed by calling Shutter House!

    I unfortunately jammed my front living room bay window blind while trying to decorate for holidays…read more This happened on Nov.29 day after Thanksgiving. Much to my surprise Jeff texted me right away & said due to Holiday he could not come till Monday (12/2). Come Monday morning Jeff called, came over & with his magic touch lowered the blind. It definitely was jammed but he knew exactly what to do. Then to top it all off I asked if I could pay him for his 5 min. service call, he said NO way, right a review. If anyone is looking for a shutter company, honest, reliable I give 10stars to Shutter House!!!! Bless you Jeff. D. Millar
