Me and my girlfriend loved this place. Our waitress made our whole night and experience there. It…read morewas a small place that was pretty packed but we sat at the bar and had a great time. We found this place because I was looking for somewhere I could get a beer and walk out and around the town of Jim Thorpe (I believe they allow it here). But ended up staying for the vibes and plus we were super hungry. I wish I remembered our waitresses name but I believe she had pink in her hair. She allowed me and my girlfriend to sample some beers that she thought we would like because we were hesitant and what to order. We got the sangria sour beer and the white ale which were perfect for us. We also saw online that everyone loved the smash burger so we had to try it. We added truffle fries for 3 dollars which was so worth it. Some of the best fries we have ever had. Also I think we decided it was the best smash burger we have ever had. We both have never tried bacon jam and we were a bit hesitant about the pimento cheese as well. I think my favorite moment from this trip was sitting at the bar here and eating this meal. Plus the burger lived up to the hype. Thank you to the waitress we had you made our day!

Exceptionally welcoming people that were great to talk too and one of the patrons even bought the bar a round on his way out the door. We had the special for Thursday, the Philly that's packed with meat for $5. So we got that and it was more than we could eat after having some Brussels for an appetizer that we had to finish because they were fried to absolute perfection ! Best restaurant/bar 10 outta 10 !

Two others I was with ordered cheese steaks with real cheese instead of the normal sauce. They had no issues substituting ingredients. Mine had a tangy vinegar kick with plenty of peppers, lettuce and chicken. The cheese sauce on my wife buffalo chicken had medium heat at best and was mixed with a mild blue cheese. The chicken was finely shredded. We ate the second half the next day after reheating it in the toaster oven. The entrance to the building is a bar, if you walk towards the back there is a room with tables in it. There are plenty of seats, it's just a large community area. A family with young children was also there. Service was good, no issues.

Definitely the best value restaurant in town. My entire family goes here all the time, and the owners are super cool! They always have a huge beer selection with new things on tap every week. The poutine cheesesteak is the classic here but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

After having our GPS take us a ways around we got to Union Publik House and there were regulars in there already. There's a few tables and we were greeted warmly and since we were a group of five, took the larger table in the back by the kitchen. Our server was also friendly and helpful. He recommended the burgers but said just about everything we would order would be good and he was right. My wings were big and tasty, the burger we ordered was cooked as requested, the Ceasar salad was good but the chicken add-on was a bit overdone and dry, the other salad with add-on salmon was a nice big piece of fish that was quickly eaten, and the BBQ sandwich my kid had was gone in what seemed like seconds. We started with some mozzarella sticks which were fine, the pirogies were better than fine, and the homemade chips with salsa were also quickly eaten. Drinks were canned sodas at $3 each and I also had an unsweetened ice tea for the same price. I think you'll also like UPH for your lunch or dinner. We'd come back. $125 total including tax and tip for five people.
