I arrived before opening at 9 on an overcast Saturday morning. A handful of gardenistas were already lined up to get in. Last year I went for the first time...thought it was great. I was excited to come this year but it has changed. The selection was not as good, there was no one around to ask questions, I could not find the plants I really wanted and worst of all THEY CHARGE DOUBLE FOR ROSETONE THAN FOWLERS ON THE SOUTH FORK. I called bloominhaus assuming they had mismarked the 4 lb bags which were 11.49 and half that at Fowlers... they were not mismarked. also their nasturtiums were $6$ plus for a small seedling. Last year at bloomin haus for me. Be careful if you go. Do not assume the prices are fair. read more

"This is like a playground for me" - my mom, who loves to garden. Despite having already purchased plants at another nursery, this is what my mom wanted to do for Mother's Day, so I pushed the cart around while she stopped into every greenhouse that The Bloomin Haus had to offer. I can't imagine any other store that would beat the selection here. There's a separate warehouse across the street from the main one that has tropical plants, then the main one has greenhouses that are separated by type of plant and whether it's an annual or perennial, all of which are sorted by color. Plants here are more expensive than other spots, but you're paying for access to literally any plant that you could possibly ever want to grow in the ground, so I guess it makes sense. I'm not a gardener by any means, but if you have a green thumb or know someone who does I imagine their perfect day would involve coming here and running wild. Service was also A+ and shockingly efficient, especially at the check out. These folks have the process down to a science, so don't let the long lines deter you no matter how far back you are initially. read more

No one speaks English so cannot answer questions. Advertising saying they are open at a certain date and you go and 9/10 of the place is closed. No variety of plants. No decent labeling of plants. Ex: hydrangea but no indication of what kind of hydrangea. Finally, you put a plant in a cart and because the walks are so narrow you must leave the cart unattended. When you come back to the cart, the plant is generally gone. I won't be back since this place never improves. I take a ride to Hick's Nursey in Westbury for a great selection and people who can actually answer a question. read more

Went to get fall flowers. Brought my 2 dogs to get them out of the house, every car ride is the vet. I picked out 3 pumpkins, 3 flowers. Before paying, cashier told me to go pick up SH!T she believed my dog did. One dog, blind in a stroller, one on leash. The daughter has the leashed dog, I'm watching her asking if she wanted me to hold the leashed dog. I WAS WATCHING to see if daughter needed help. Cashier lied saying it was my dogs crap. This poop was larger as my dog is small and the crap OUTSIDE THE GATES! So ANY dog or even raccoon could have done that. It was not behind the locked gates!! I should have cancelled the sale and walked away. I'll never go back. Having your customers clean up when it's not their mess...nope. Lady, there are many other places to shop. The big hanging basket I bought was DRY...we were the only customers. $25 for a plant ready to die. SMH Bloomin Haus used to be where I got my plants. Not any more. Lazy lazy. read more

My new favorite nursery! There are endless, I mean ENDLESS amounts of flowers. The biggest flower house I have ever seen! So big, they need a crossing guard directing traffic! I have shopped here for the past three years for my outdoor plants, bushes and other gardening items. The nursery is HUGE. You won't find a more diverse selection anywhere. On one side of Waverly, you will find trees and large bushes. On the opposite side are multiple greenhouses with any type of small, large, potted or hanging plant that you can think of. There are also a few greenhouses dedicated to garden ornaments, fountains, Shepard's hooks, lattices, etc. It's really a one stop shop. Slightly difficult to find someone who works there if you have a question, but if you're willing to walk around a bit to find someone, the staff is very knowledgeable and can help you find exactly what you need. Weekends in the spring? You'd better get there early or go close to closing time. You won't be able to walk around. read more

This was only my second time here at this beautiful nursery. I came to purchase flowering plants but you should know they sell shrubs ,trees and other outdoor decor too! I came back because last year I was so impressed with their abundance of beautifully potted and hanging plants ! All so gorgeous , high quality , healthy and fairly priced. Especially the begonias, they were triple the size of the plants I just purchased and I don't think I paid much more for them plus they stayed in bloom all summer ! Yesterday many of the hanging plants were on the small size and looked a bit scrawny. It may have been that I came on a Monday after the weekend and they were still replenishing their stock. I'm still giving them 4 stars because I know it's been a tough year for all businesses and I hope next year I will feel better about my purchase . Yes I do plan on returning! Compared to other nurseries and shops that sell plants I do feel this is the best place to shop. The plants here still look lovely and healthy but nothing like last year . I removed the plastic hangers and put them in pots which actually make them look nicer ! read more

Why is it that Yelp review ratings are always lower than Google reviews? Could it possibly be because the businesses (like mine) don't subscribe and give money to Yelp? The Bloomin Haus is a stunning garden center. Walking row upon row of pristine plants is an experience worth checking off. The variety of plants carried is mind boggling. You want it, I bet they have it. (Including a mini zoo.) What I found peculiar, is the absence of pricing signage. (I wasn't the only confused shopper. Multiple families asked me if I knew the pricing model.) Unsure of how to proceed (and too lazy to try and find an employee) I selected a few plants. At the checkout I learned the most affordable way to make a purchase is buying a flat. (From what I can see on their website, pricing isn't available there either.) Pooped, I decided to call it a day, abandoning my purchase by the register. read more

The staff is very rude. The selection is okay. Their attitude just didn't make it worth shopping there. The guy who smokes with his orange flag likes to do traffic control and he he is rude as anyone I have seen in retail. I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. read more

HUGE selection of plants: annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, potted plants, garden assessors, and more........ If you garden or just love plants, be sure to see this place! I'm shocked that there are no reviews for this place yet. My husband and I come here every year in spring. The selection is unbelievable. Every variety of plant is available in different sizes, including vegetables and herbs. There are about 14 greenhouses and rows of plants in-between each greenhouse. This is the place to go for your spring plantings and annuals. They are situated on two sides of the street (Waverly Ave). On the weekend it can get quite busy, so try to go during the week. You won't be disappointed in the selection. There is a separate area for perennials, larger trees and shrubs, and there is a zoo/farm animals for your children to see. There is plenty of parking and large shopping carts and enough cashiers to make your check out fast. You must see this place! Hope that helps! read more

Wow what a huge big beautiful Nursery. I thought I found the best nursery on Long Island. I live 40 minutes away from there I made 4 trips there for a total of $600.00 I wound up having a problem with one tree I bought there for almost $200. Spoke to the manager Ken and found out there was Zero warranty / guarantee. It did not matter that I purchased it 28 days ago there was Zero warranty. I wish I would have known about that warranty policy I would have spent my money elsewhere. read more

The selection at Bloomin Haus is by far one of the best in the area. I found everything I needed for my vegetable garden and the prices were lower than Home Depot or Lowes. Finding everything was easy although the aisles within the green houses are a bit cramped but it really didn't matter. My only complaint is the parking situation. There's not enough spaces for their busy times. They may have parking elsewhere but I am not aware of it. It looked like maybe across the street. Rude business manners on the phone, called to get some pricing on some items I am interested in purchasing for a home project I was very rudely and abruptly told that they had no time to answer any questions as they were busy! They didn't ask me to hold or offer to take a number to call me back at a later time to answer any questions to obtain my business in doing so they have definitely lost a potential customer Unless you are looking to be spoken to as an afterthought steer clear and call another nursery that is willing to take the time to answer questions and give some general pricing! There is a very friendly and customer friendly nursery in the next town that was willing to take 5 minutes to give me some pricing. Bloomin Haus you should take some business management and customer service courses to bring customers in. read more
