I want so bad to give these guys a good review. Charles is easy to talk to, everyone is friendly, and they have the coolest schwag. Sadly, it was not meant to be.
I left my Buick Grand National with them in May of 2017. It had been sitting fallow outside for a while, and I wanted everything looked over for safety and any major mechanical issues pointed out and addressed. One thing I was sure was wrong was the brakes, so I wanted that whole system to get close attention. I told them this was not a daily driver for me and I would be out of town, so they could really take their time.
I think they took it too literally.
Three months later, I got an estimate. Two months after that I was told that the guy I was working with was not the best at his job and absolutely no work had been done to my car. This was a problem because I was moving out of town, and I was expecting to pick up the car and have it shipped to my new home. I would only be in town for a week and I would like to look at it before paying. But that wasn't in the cards. A couple of days before the truck was scheduled to grab it, Charles tells me that there's a bunch of work that has to be done on the brake system that they missed. This was one of the ONLY things I pointed out at the beginning of this whole thing and now they just find it at the last minute.
Well, I wasn't able (because of my schedule) to come by and look at the car, and they "fixed" everything by the time the truck came by to pick it up a week later. That said, even with all of the apology discounts the final bill was almost a grand more than the original estimate, and this is despite that they told me they weren't going to do a lot of the work from the original estimate (like fix the radio, and resew some holes in the upholstery). No matter, I wanted the car back and I understand that stuff is not an exact science. My friend looked at it for me at the shop, and on the truck it went on a long trip to MD. There it stayed for 8 months, in a garage, unused until I was able to make room for it at my new place.
Here's the thing, when I was finally able to drive it, a bunch of the electrical stuff like the A/C didn't work, probably because they had been completely disconnected from the system, so I paid someone else to fix that. I also had to buy a new battery because the one in it was completely dead (they had wired the cooling fan directly to it). And now, since I'm still having problems, I just took it to a mechanic in New York and they say there are leaks on the head gaskets and transmission (both systems the Bomb Factory worked on) and that the window motors need to be replaced (something I PAID both in labor and parts, for the Bomb Factory to do).
I've just written them of these problems, so I'm hoping they'll make it right. If they do, then I will amend this review. read more
