my car had a blow out at 4:30am on Monday on Lapalco at the foot of the Lapalco bridge in Harvey and AAA said they would have their tow truck there in 80+ min. the JPSO deputy that was protecting us with his lights said he could get a tow allot faster but it would cost so I let him call. traffic was starting to zoom by and it was getting dangerous. people have no respect for the flashing blue and red lights anymore. Jakes was there within 30 min and the car was gone. tow truck driver went above and beyond to hook it up. went the next morning to Avondale to get it and called AAA to have someone come replace the tire with the spare. because it was in a puddle the AAA (United) driver wasn't happy and was being stubborn and Jakes team was nice enough to get it to the parking lot in front of the building. for some reason, the AAA driver yelled something out of his vehicle door and took off from Jakes without changing the tire, and without telling me what was going on. Jakes team changed the tire for me. they didn't have to do that. so I asked if they had a part that my sister needed for her car and I bought it and was on my way. Jakes went above and beyond. all the guys were nice and friendly. just wish AAA would contract with Jakes. read more

TERRIBLE customer service; a broken window & a staff that refuses to talk to anyone in person! AVOID at all costs!!!!

My brother had the misfortune of being rear-ended at high-speed in Gretna on July 29th. The offending driver took off and was stopped by JPSO 3 blocks away. He had no insurance, of course. His work pickup truck was totalled. JPSO called Jake's Towing to move the truck. This morning, barely 24 hours later, my brother called Jake's because he needed to retrieve his tools and other belongings from the wreck. He was told that he was NOT PERMITTED to come and get his belongings unless he paid a $500 towing and storage fee first. THIS IS A RIP-OFF! My brother called JPSO, but they were NO HELP. BEWARE of using Jake's Towing & Recovery. You might get the same treatment! read more

Not only did my keys get lost but they threw trash into my car, it was a convertible and due to the police's negligence the top was opened during the car accident and left open. It then proceeded to rain into my car for two days and once getting there I noticed muddy toys and stuff thrown into my car as if it was a garbage can. The lack of respect and audacity still infuriates me, they don't care about your property they just want a check. read more

I asked if he could try and pull a rim with a useable tire and he said he couldn't promise anything but would try. I said "try" is good enough! These guys are crooks. They want me to pay a bill for storage on a car I sold six months ago to a Ford dealership In Metairie. I called Jake's and someone there told me that I am still responsible for the bill even though I sold the car. I then checked with the Ford dealership and was told to ignore the notice and that there might be two more coming. I think Jake's is trying to extort money illegally. read more
