Christmas tree book display in front window, so cute

This is a great local bookstore with a big selection of books, cards, gifts, and some fun surprises (teepee! truffles! honeycombs!) It is bigger than I thought, the store is designed well, and they have a lot of merchandise. The day I visited they had an author signing and a book art vendor which was very cool. The website shows that they have a lot of events http://www.bookshelfthomasville.com/events/ I do wish they had a mailing list instead of just "follow us on facebook" Also, the owner Annie Jones does a cute podcast called "From the Front Porch" Conversations on books, small business, & life in the South http://www.bookshelfthomasville.com/frontporch/

This bookstore is like something from my dreams. I have been trying to find every excuse under the sun to make the trip from Augusta and found one last Saturday when they had an event with Anne Bogel. It's so neat stepping into a place that you've heard about SO often from listening to the podcast. Annie is as pleasant in person as I imagined and I have been bragging about this bookstore since I came back to town to anyone who will listen. I could peruse all day and really wish I had given myself more time before the event to really explore. It's a perfect place to stop for gifts (that are not just books), try a truffle, sit in the tent in the kid's area to indulge in a book.... the list goes on. I loved the shelf ends and had to contain myself and only bought two books (this time) and a shelf subscription when I got home for a friend. This store reminds me why reading people are my favorite kind of people. It may be a long time before I make the trip back, but it will happen!

I hadn't stepped into a Books-a-Million in years…read more Stepped in to pick up an order. Ordered the first two books in the Bridgerton series. Recently I saw the TV show and I was so hooked that I finished the series in a span of days, which is saying something as I much prefer books to TV. That said, when I found out that the TV series was based on a book series I just had to get my hands on the books. I chose to start off with the first two and I ordered from this and another place, figuring whichever got to me first would be where I would get the books and the second place, well, I'd have my order canceled. True to my word, I did just that and came in to pick up my books. Imagine my surprise at how large the bookstore was. It even has a coffee shop. I'd have spent more time there, but my companion was in a rush, so picked up my books and wound up buying a card and that was that.

A couple of the employees here (specifically at opening yesterday 6-17-26 need to take a breath of…read morefresh air or perhaps go touch grass. BAM posted they had needohs in stock. So to clarify, the place they work informed the public that they had stock of the toy people can't ever find for their kids. Seems simple, right? We go there when they open at 10- my kids so excited to get their hands on something they have been wanting so bad. We get in there and the two women working had attitudes of a middle school teenagers. They couldn't believe they had to deal with people who were eager (and all respectful) to get a toy (that they posted!!!). I reminded the one with the worse attitude that it's really not that big of a deal, this is just exciting and makes kids so happy. She responded with no words . Again, acting like a child. I fear even a teenager would have a better attitude. I understand there ARE people who have bad attitudes about these toys but none of us were those people and they should have mentally prepared for people to be there when they opened. Surely there is some meditation they could do before experiencing the horror of parents getting a toy for their kids. I pray they make it through this craze and that the next craze is just going outside and breathing so they don't have to deal with it. God bless.
