I'm really attached to these shoes: they've taken me many places and through many accomplishments and they still look nice. He came so highly recommended but when I went to his old shop in June 2024, they were moving and closed due to transition. They moved to a new plaza (by Noah's Bagels and the post office) and I actually waited for them for a month because I don't trust my shoes with anyone who isn't well recommended. I was pleasantly surprised at the value and quality and he was well worth the wait. He gave me options and I went with the higher price because my Nine West heels were so scuffed. He replaced the heels and rebound new leather to match and it looks flawless. He repaired and polished my other three shoes. They were ready in less than a week. The cost was slightly over $100 and it was worth not having to buy new ones.

I would say that COVID is responsible for the lack of staff, but I think this issue started before the pandemic. Also, sometimes, the shelves just seem to be pretty bare; also understandable. I know shopping online is "the thing" for many of us, but sometimes, I just like to physically go in the store and look around and lay eyes on the items I like and will purchase.
