It's a real shame. The dancers were phenomenal, the host was very gracious, and it was a great show... but I had to leave this review because I'm still frustrated days later. To be completely honest, the event coordinator was out sick, and the sub did her best to keep things rolling. The show was a little late, but they offered free shots as an apology which was exceptionally nice. Thats not what the review is about though. At the beginning of the evening, before the show started, our table ordered food. I'd ordered a dessert while three of my friends ordered flatbreads. Throughout the show, we saw other people getting their food and having a good time. Half of our table also got their food. Me and one other individual at the table, however, began to notice that checks were going out and we hadn't received anything. When the show host mentioned the last act, we were pretty annoyed. We'd asked the server a few times where the food was and they'd kept mentioning that "it was coming." Well, the show ended, and we still had nothing. Almost everyone else had eaten and paid their bill, but we had to wait to get our food. A server came up to me and explained to me that deserts were what the kitchen always cooked desert last. Sounds like an acceptable answer, right? Well, it would be, if I hadn't seen one of the servers carrying away a different desert from a table that had paid and left by then. Not to mention it didn't explain why two of my friends got their food but the third friend and I were still waiting. Maybe ten minutes after the show had ended, we got our food. They'd already thrown it in some to-go boxes. My friend checked her flatbread, and it wasn't what she ordered. At that point, we were all tired and ready to leave, so she didn't even bother taking it. I got my food, but it was clearly fresh out of the oven since the box was still very hot. The real salt in the wound was that they clearly lied about misplacing our orders and fully expected us to pay full price for waiting 2+ hours for food we'd been told would be provided during the show. If they'd been honest, I wouldn't have even bothered writing a review, but it really rubs me the wrong way that they'd give some flimsy excuse just to try and avoid taking responsibility for their mistakes. Again, it's a real shame since the show was fantastic and the rest of the staff were really nice. Go for the show, but don't order any food. read more

Parking is limited to street parking only. My friend was in town visiting and wanted to go to a burlesque show and dinner. You can do both here! Just go online and see what times are available for the date you want. Since it was last minute for us, we barely got our tickets! When you order online, it will ask you what dinner option you want (steak vs. chicken). We took an Uber to the venue to not worry about parking. When you come in, it's the burlesque appeal--red walls, etc. Please don't be like me and bring cash, as you will want to tip the dancers later. When taking photos there, turn off your flash. There is a sign on each table as a reminder. Although we were seated right away, it took some time for the food to come out. It was such a random order of output. My salad came out and the lights were still on, so thankfully I didn't have to eat a salad in the dark with oily dressing on it. Since we were super hungry and the meal itself was taking a minute, we ordered chips and queso. I forgot what I ordered for a drink, but they placed a light in the drink, which was kind of neat and good in preparation for when the show starts and the lights go off. Speaking of going off, I was really turned off by my meal. For the $40 I spent, I would have rather eaten an air sandwich and had all proceeds go to the dancers. The chicken was overcooked (dry), the green beans were salty and sad, the mashed potatoes were cold like my drink, and my cornbread was surprisingly disgusting on top of being dry. I am not the kind of person to send food back, so I took the loss and pretended my mouth was a microwave for the mashed potatoes, gave up immediately on the green beans and cornbread, and only ate the parts of the chicken that had any signs of hydration. Thank GOD we ordered chips and queso, or I would have been HANGRY. I will not come back for the food if I can help it. This is such a cool and fun experience. When you walk in you are seated in a booth or table. There is no bad seat in the house. Your order is taken and the show starts. Each lady has a talent that they display. Your food comes out. I have to recommend the skillet hash. It was soooo good! The watermelon peach sangria was amazing to say the least. We went in expecting a great burlesque show and delicious dinner, as we'd been to a few before. Unfortunately this felt more like a glorified strip club, with an MC that just kept talking. He talked in between every single act. I felt like he took up half the show time. Each girl did one strip tease and then there were three group dances. Two girls did aerial acts for about 5 minutes each. It was just very underwhelming. The food was not good either. We had steaks and our friends had salmon. Not one of us liked the food. The drinks were not very tasty either. The server got mad when I asked for a cup of ice to go with the room temperature water they put on the table for you to pour yourself. Overall, we were pretty disappointed. Finding an Uber after was a disaster as they shut the roads around it down due to "dangerous activity" and the street it's on is very sketchy. We would not go back. We came to StL just for this experience as it looked very cool on their Facebook page and we loved the other two we'd been too. This one fell flat In comparison. I'm a burlesque producer on the west coast and there was nothing about this experience that was even mediocre. Sound system was absolutely terrible, not only was the lobby blowing our ears out, but the show itself I had to wear earplugs because the quality and volume was bad. The dancers were extremely amateur, and the pole dancer was good, but not cirque. The branding on their website is extremely misleading, and the service was below average. We came as a group of about 15 people and were seated off to the side of the stage , essentially having a clear view of the performers right arms for the night. About 1/3 of the seats are off to the side in terrible viewing areas despite the tickets costing $30 for everyone to enter. The meal, you pick the meal before you arrive so it's essentially "auctioned off" when it comes and hardly anyone remembers what they order. It's mass produced as everyone (in this night it was a case of 104 meals, capacity is 140) is being let into the showroom and eating before the show takes place, so you're not getting the best quality food...in fact, it may not even be that warm when it arrives (mine wasn't) and btw, the meal is mandatory on top of the $32 admission and the plate is $28 for a Vegan dish (the cheapest of all entrees). I was far from the only one who complained. The birthday girl was left apologizing to everyone. The show itself is nice, but nothing of $32 admission. I've seen nationally known acts for that amount, This wasn't really all that much better than the acts that I used to see at Atomic Cowboy for $10 or less. All in all, the place screams tourist trap. My friends and I bought tickets to the boom boom room for my birthday. I was wanting something different and unique to celebrate and this was definitely it! After you check in, you can hang out at the bar while you wait to be seated at your table. We purchased the celebration ticket, so we got hats and boas, and a celebration shot. To be honest, the hats and boas looked like over used New Year's Eve decor. The boas were so thin it was actually comical, I've never seen one look like that before. The celebration shot tasted good! I also got pulled up on stage for a dancing contest with all the other celebration ticket holders. The appetizers were good! We all split the chips and queso, the spin dip with pita, and the cheese curds. The cheese curds had a bit of a weird breading, but over all the appetizers were good! You preselect your entree when you buy your ticket online. I think the entrees were just fine. It said the steaks would all be cooked as medium, which mine was, but my friends was definitely rare! As for the performances, there was a few great acts, specially the 2 aerial ones! I've been to one other burlesque show in Seattle, and that show had men and women dancers and it told a story. This show was just women, and individual acts. It reminded me more of a strip club where the women do their own independent thing versus seeing a show with a plot. Maybe they have a storyline show option that I wasn't aware of, and if not, they should definitely look into this. My party paid nearly $200 a person for the NYE package. We got a mid-tier table for four. Doors opened late, the table they seated us at was a four top but only 3 chairs and when that was sorted out at least one person was still stuck staring at a wall instead of the show. The drinks took forever to get to us and when they did get to us they were wrong. This happened twice. The food is terrible. Please, read all of the reviews. Don't get the food. All of the fabulous ladies that were in the show are quite the talented, charismatic, charming entertainers that the website stated they would be. We had The Green Mile drink Tower. Just go! So fun. We were here on a weekend trip sans kids and wanted to do something "adult". This fit the bill without being too scandalous ;-) Both my date and I were surprised to see how small the venue was. At first, we were a little bit nervous about what we had gotten ourselves into... it seemed so small and intimate! As soon as the show started we started having a lot of fun. The dancers weren't broadway level good or anything, but for the price and the venue, it was fun. Drinks were strong enough , we tried a cucumber and gin drink and also a tequila drink and both were decent. Our favorite act was Sierra Spin Craze who did some dancing with fire! Very cool. A girls night that was upssettingly fun Being moms in our 30s, we rarely have a night out. My friend planned months in advance for a fun night out. We chose the Book Boom Room for many reasons. We had old friends that used to work there, the atmosphere is fun, eclectic and inviting, and we were wanting to support local women doing what they love. We arrived at 6:20PM and were sat at our table by 6:30. The lady at the front umbrella checking and the woman checking tickets were very friendly. We chose to bybpass the drinks in the bombshell bar due to we usually eat dinner at 4 and are in bed by 8. As soon as we were sat, the waiter came and greeted us. He informed us he was filling in until the other waitress showed up. We were a table of 6 with one having a gluten allergy. The waiter was receptive of the allergy and receptive the fact we were wanting 6 separate checks, even though we know it's annoying. A few of us have previous bar tending, customer service and waiting service experience. We ordered a drink tower and 2 appetizers and a NA drink. The tower came out in a timely manner. We were chatting as a group and the show started at 7:30. That's when things took a turn. At about 8:15, our appetizers AND dinner still did not come out. One of us had to go to the bar and grab the NA drink because that also was not served. Finally, after I went to go ask someone about our food, it came out. I was told a manager would come talk to us, but never happened. After we where through with our dinner, the appetizers showed up, and they were incorrect. It took another 15-20 minutes to get the correct appetizer. The food was subpar, but the canned green beans were absolutely delectable. My friend ordered a dessert, and got the wrong one, and it took another 10 minutes for the correct. We were very patient and understanding, but it was upsetting to spend $100 for a night out and not be able to enjoy the show. As for the show, it was great, from what we could watch. We were more occupied with were our food and drinks were, that the experience was completely ruined for us. The entertainers were amazing and talented, I wish I could have been fully engaged. Of course, all venues have off nights, but this was exceptionally off. The icing on the cake was our new server laughed when my friend asked for a to go box, and she gave us one check, although the previous server had our separate checks all written down. She seemed very annoyed when we asked for her to separate them. Overall, i would go back, but for the later show when my belly is full and I can be more engaged in the show. 3 stars solely for the dancers and entertainers.
