Was it really necessary to charge over 20% for gratuity for nonexistent service? Had someone brought me my order and been slow or marginally rude then I'd have still tipped some. Now, I won't return. Situations like this will continue and you have lost ticket sales and concessions from someone who really likes to blow money when there's a special time with friends. We budget $50+ per person if it's a special movie date. I love icees and only eat popcorn at the theater. We sneak in a little, but it's maybe $10 worth of stuff not offered. Everything the theater offers we buy and a lot. Seems like it is standard for your business to be rude and nasty which is sad. I love going out, but I need outings to be worth the money as I have a mini movie theater at home to share with our friends that is complete with blankets and my own terrible service due to my not wanting to get up to wait on everyone always. Let us patronize your business, well not us since you seem to hate people who blow money for fun and expect to be charged for what they've purchased not random fees snuck in. Some of us don't want to argue the fees because we don't want to ruin the experience for our kids or make some fuss and upset others. Instead we just go with it and cough up more than you deserve. Alamo Drafthouse was a great experience, I went with my mom for mother's day and we both enjoyed the movie. As a first timer coming here, it was tricky to find while driving through the parking garage. Once getting there I loved everything about my movie experience. They offer a mixture of new movies as well as cult classics. I love that you can order food and drinks while in their reclining lounge chairs and they bring it to you. There are a few things that I noticed can be difficult for those with a disability especially if you don't have a wheelchair. There didn't seem to be any handicap parking near the entrance which made walking to the theater a problem, especially since my mom has a disability. Also, once inside the theater, the main row is kinda awkward to get into the seat when having to use a walker since you have to climb a step to get into the seat. I enjoyed my experience, but I can see how someone with a disability would have a difficult time with accessibility. read more

Came here for a day date with my husband. ( I also had a long overdue not used giftcard ) glad we finally got to come out to see a movie here. Of all movies I picked Mandalorian and Grogu. They did limited food and drink items, which is so fun and mayhe geek out. The seating did seem to confuse some. Our seats said 623 and 624. The auditorium is 8. Your next number is the row and then the actual seat number( hope this helps for those a bit confused) ex ours said 8623 and 8624. Prior to the show they had some silly madlibed star wars relatable things. It didn't bother us about the warming if you're not compliant with their rules, you may get booted out. They also give you a heads up about their 18% gratis added. What did mess me uo is we had more than one person bringing us the food etc which makes it a bit tough to know who to tip. We parked in the main lot that's used for the city foundry. It's advised to get their half hour prior. So we did have time to kill. Walked in the food court to see what they had and places we may check out. The staff was super friendly and welcomed us. They explained how everything worked. No one scanned our tix, so not sure how they knew who was suppose to be there or not. I ordered the little group shake ( shakes are highly recommended here) it was good. It was a mint shake with lime. Just the right amount. Had a margarite style pizza I was full after two slices it wasn't bad. Husband had their loaded fries. He aid they were good and he was happy they had one of his fave beers on draft [ he said it was rather pricey] you may want to ask for the glass frosted if you want it cold. Our movie was being shown in the big showroom, which is a bistro style movie. You can order food and beverages. They have QR codes to scan We enjoyed the movie and the old movie posters and vhs tapes. Some may find the bathroom arrangement a bit different as its unisex. My wife and I finally had a day out without our daughter, and we decided to spend it at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema at the City Foundry. We went to see Michael, the new Michael Jackson movie, and it was excellent -- we both enjoyed it from start to finish. The theater was clean, comfortable, and the whole experience reminded us why Alamo is always a great choice for movie night. After the movie, we stayed in the City Foundry to grab something to eat. With so many restaurants to choose from, we walked around for a bit and ended up at Kalbi Taco Shack. Great decision. My wife ordered the shrimp tacos, and I had the chicken teriyaki rice bowl with vegetables. We both had lemonade, and everything was delicious. I got to go to an early viewing of You, Me and Tuscany. Get there early to find parking - they do have a lot that fills quickly and there's an outside lot a little further away. No coming late, no talking, no cell phones and they stealthily get your order/food/drink during the movie. This theater is a vibe - unique trailers, great bar area, and old fashioned movie posters. It's in a great spot in the Foundry. The food is great albeit pricey. The popcorn is delish with unlimited refills. Soda is also unlimited refills. I heard some Alamo theaters do boxed candy and some do these little takeout boxes (which is a better value) so I was delighted to get a little takeout box for my peanut m&ms. This is perfect for a lover of cinema and cuisine. I am a lover of movies and junk food. I admit I have some pretty questionable movie going practices. I was at first thrown by the fine print that requires on time arrival. It totally makes sense (to allow food orders to be delivered before the movie begins) but I didn't realize this rule until almost too late. But normally in an AMC or Cinemark I arrive 15-20 after the stated time because previews are soooooo long. I'm addition, the small theater space and fact that they direct people to use QR codes to snitch on fellow patrons also is a bad fit for my particular movie viewing style. I like to be able to feel like if I have a prediction to whisper to a friend, a loud laugh, or a yelp at a jump scare in the movie I don't risk being kicked out. Since all theater brands have more elevated food and drink options as well as recliner lounge seating this brand just seems unnecessary for me. But the flip side is this is the perfect place for folks who would hate being in a movie theater with me. Lol read more

Was very excited to come back to Alamo but things have changed. I came here right when it opened and service was fast, food was delicious and vibes were high. Now when I visited I had to wait an hour for a glass of water while everyone around me slowly got their food one by one. My friends ordered food and I ordered a large popcorn and water. My friend to the right got their food 30 min in. My friend to the left received it 45 min in. Then finally my turn, an hour into the movie I received unsalted, soggy popcorn and my ice water. They have fun "movie parties" for those cult classics (Happy Gilmore, Christmas Vacation are some examples). My only 2 complaints: 1. The food is very good, but service is very slow. It takes quite a long time to take your order, and even longer to get it. You might finally get your popcorn then get your soda 15 minutes after that. 2. Such a fun place! My first time here was a mother/daughters night out to see Freakier Friday. City Foundry was hopping but found a parking space near the theatre entrance Space was fun, lots of movie posters, nice bar area, and seating space. We had purchased tickets prior to and we were able to go right in. Theatre was small and cozy with great seats. Staff was attentive and worked through a seating issue with patience. Another couple ended up getting reseated and all was well. Our server was great; she answered a lot of my questions since it was my first time visiting. I reviewed the menu by the handy light provided under your tray table, wrote down and placed my order in the slot. I got comfy in the chair, adjusting it to my preferred tilt, I was able to find a great fit even though I am short. I settled in and was ready for my Heavy Riff Love Gun draft and bottomless popcorn. Beer was great and popcorn was delicious. I got one refill on popcorn but that and the beer lasted the whole show. I enjoyed my first visit and will go back to enjoy again. Very bougie theater and I love it! Clean and posh and service was great! You get your tickets at the front and then order your concessions at your seat. There is an 18%service fee included which goes to everyone, but you can tip your server individually if you like. I got chips and queso with fresh cilantro and cotija but it was just ok. This is my second time at this theatre! I was able to see WICKED and it was the most comfy chairs that allow significant recline. We came early to enjoy drinks at the bar and while expensive, the server was so kind and friendly. The cool thing about the price is that it includes gratuity but the base prices are considerable in my opinion. I came with friends and I didn't purchase the tickets (so I can't comment on that) but I love how your server introduces themselves to you when they check your tickets. We ordered more food and drink and put a card on file but we expected to be able to split the check in the end but everything was charged to the card. Will clarify that next time. This is such a cool concept. There's a lobby bar where you can enjoy a drink before the show. It is so nice to be able to have food/drinks brought to your seat. At first I was a little nervous that delivery would be a big disruption but the staff moved quickly and did their best to not disrupt or block anyone's views. There was a wide variety of food and drink options to select from and then you order by writing your selections down and pushing a button for the staff to come pick up the order. We split a popcorn (bottomless) which is served in an extra large bowl - they have multiple flavor options you can add in too. My first visit to an Alamo Drafthouse was enhanced by the screening of a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. Instead of the usual trivia and interviews before the trailers, I was treated to a music video of an Oscar-nominated song from the movie Mannequin. Later, there was a short clip featuring Sebastian Stan in various movies and TV shows prior to him entering the MCU. And my favorite, the PSA starring David Harbour, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Florence Pugh for Alamo Drafthouse's talking & phone usage policy. None of this would have been available at another major cinema chain. For a dinner and movie experience, the food portion was mediocre. The three pieces of chicken tenders were steaming hot, not suitable for finger food. The chicken fell off the breading too easily. On the plus side, the hatch green chile gravy provided ample flavor. Unlike the gravy, which was poured into a container, the ketchup was in a Heinz's single-serve, dual-purpose packet. The ketchup packet had sauce on its edge, making it difficult to open for dipping. The container with its smaller surface area made dipping the French fries more cumbersome. Fortunately, the theater had a featured menu for Mother's Day. In addition to the ice cream, shakes, and cookies on the standard menu, the featured menu included a Strawberry Shortcake Jar. The jar was about half the size of ones for baby food. The strawberry shortcake was flavorful with a couple of thinly sliced strawberries. The ordering process at that restaurant was archaic. Since they had a cellphone policy, online ordering wasn't allowed. Instead, customers had to write down their orders on a blank pad with a pen. A sandwich chain I used to frequent had a similar ordering process, but there was one major difference: diners would fill in circles instead of writing their orders freely. read more

This is probably by far one of the best theaters in St. Louis went to go see the new SINNERS movie which they did not disappoint on that full theater experience. Deceased were extremely comfortable. You have the option to recline them fully sitting back, which gave you enough room to almost fall asleep in them. Everything was very spacious so you weren't in anyone's way. Now before the movie starts, you have waiters that come and take your order and get you everything you need , we started off with the bottomless popcorn and sodas. Before the movie started, we ordered our entrées. I had a burger with bacon came with lettuce and tomato and a delicious garlic sauce and a side of fries. My wife ordered the buffalo chicken wings. They were nicely size,flavorful, and crispy towards the middle of the movie we ordered their salted caramel shake and their chocolate chip cookies. I will say make sure you order the cookies before the movie starts. Those are the best way to get them now I know for the future through, throughout the movie waitresses and waiters come through and check on you periodically, get your refills of popcorn and soda or take your order if you need. read more

I love the experience every time that I go to the Alamo. The seats are comfy, and they have delicious vegan options (the cauliflower basket), and screens are clear. What I have not like recently and what makes it so I may not visit again, is for the second time I ordered the Buffalo Cauliflower Basket spelled it out and everything, mentioned sauce for fries and for a second time they brought me the side and I asked for a correction, the first visit it was fixed and the second time they did not, even when asked, they did not acknowledge the mistake just stated, oh we can't change it, their mistake. But fine, whatever ! What makes me annoyed is I got my bill, and later in the day, I receive an additional unauthorized charge on my credit card. Mind you, I was already charged 7 bucks service charge for incorrect/incomplete order, so I did not include an additional tip. I'm feeling cheated already but not wanting to make a big deal. So once the bill settled on my credit card, I checked again, to make sure it was not an error and compared it to my receipt, and I was indeed charged an additional $7.50 or so. I am so disappointed. That is theft, I would have given an additional tip if my meal was correct or if they tried to fix my order, but none of that happened. So realistically, knowing someone took the time to fraudulently overcharge my credit card, I won't visit again or at least not order food. read more

So yummy! Our server was Colin and he was super great! Made everything incredibly easy for us and was ultra attentive. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because it was our first time there and each and everyone of us got so incredibly lost. It's not like your normal theater where someone is there to greet you, look at your ticket, and tell you were to go. So all three of us had shown up separately and had ZERO idea where to go. The staff that was around just kind of let us wander. Had it not been for someone complimenting my look, I don't think I would have found where I was supposed to go. I will say that she was SUPER nice and helpful (and honestly, fun somehow) once she did engage, but took me this back way into the theater and so I couldn't even help my friends get to me! The cell service also seemed to die in the theater so it was hard to get coordinated and I was scared to leave because I was like, "I'm not going to find my way back." I'm going to go all the way for my experience at Alamo. I saw Planet of the Apes and it was my first time at the theater. Everything was very smooth from ordering tickets, to parking, to entering the theater. Great experience! The theater itself was prepared for the new flick and clean. Staff was by pretty quickly to get drink and food orders and was friendly. I attended with my son who loves the venue and is a regular. We got milkshakes and popcorn for the show. Within around 10 minutes or so an Oreo and strawberry shake was delivered with a bowl of popcorn. That's right a bowl not a box but a wide metal bowl. The shakes were fantastic, and the popcorn was perfectly seasoned and buttered. You will probably hear most rave about the seating. The electronics on the side can move your seat all the way back to a very comfortable viewing position for the movie. I never once felt uncomfortable. The table was set up in a way that you can be fully reclined and still enjoy your refreshments. The place is just really cool when you walk around and look at all of the movie posters that are nicely framed. Great memories from flicks through the decades that brought back wonderful family gatherings. I also had an opportunity to walk over to the largest theater, which was not in use. I would love to see a Premier show here. Not sure how many seats but look like it wasn't any less than 350. A staff person that we encountered talk to us a little bit as we were exiting and that elevated the review up to five star. I would absolutely love to return. I have been to Alamo many times at this point and I would say that it overall meets my expectations. The recliner chairs are cozy and I am able to order food and drink at the click of a button. Having visited this location for 2 movies, today it was Venom 3, I can say this is my new favorite. You'll find the entrance on the 2nd floor at the end of the building opposite the foodhall. It'll be across from the Museum of Illusions..look up. The decor inspires nostalgia as you walk the Hallway to the theaters adorned with movie announcements which date back to the 50s (I'm guessing). It's cool to see some of the old movies that spark memories of childhood. The theater is very clean and I especially like that they still offer "from seat" ordering and staff who deliver. The sound system is great and the seats are comfortable. I will say, being 5"2, I find myself in need of a neck pillow and have had to use my jacket as an assist. I've only ordered Wine while here, but they have a nice Red Blend that is enjoyable. The restroom situation, don't be alarmed as the Toilets are unisex, but there is a separate Urinal bathroom for men. The Foundry provides a great space for before or after movie hanging. It's been a minute, or 10 years, since I've seen a movie in the theatre. I had no idea what I was in for when we decided to see Wicked at the Alamo Drafthouse last weekend. First, I was shocked that seating was reserved/assigned. Okay, this is not the Wehrenberg of the 1980s. Since we had pre-purchased tickets, we were able to go straight to the theater and find our seats. Holy Barca-lounger! I have trouble staying awake during shows to begin with, now I can recline. So posh! We were barely in our seats when a staff member came to check our tickets and introduce herself. She explained how to order food (oh my!) during the show and all the other rules/expectations/etc. We had dinner before the movie, so opted to just have cocktails. I went with a Manhattan. I would not order another one there--probably would have been safer with something easy like a gin and tonic. That being said, I'd go back to the Alamo in a heartbeat--and would definitely explore their food options. read more
