Returned after an 18+ month hiatus for breakfast. I had an omelette with fried potatoes and toast. Food has improved but is very average. Coffee was above average. Service was slow but it seemed like they were short staffed. Ambiance was typical small breakfast place, nothing outstanding one way or other. Cleanliness was acceptable but the table I was at was sticky. I think because of the cleaning solution being used, just not the right mix. We have been here a handful of times o er the years. I agree with the other reviews something has changed drastically. Food is now sub par at best. Huge turn off their menu now reflects NO prices. Had no idea what things would cost until we got the check . Food was lukewarm when it arrived. No one checked on us throughout the meal. Took 15 minutes to get someone to take our payment. Changed completely... I don't know why but for some reason they don't even use real plates anymore. Used to be great now it ducks.

I planned my Disney World vacation specifically around having dinner at this restaurant. When my 60 day window to make a dinner reservation came around. I was on the phone immediately at 6 AM to make a reservation. Unfortunately, every day I was there there was nothing available. I reached out to my Disney travel agent to ask her assistance in obtaining a reservation when she got back to me. She told me that the restaurant does not make reservations for one person. We went to Boondocks for Mother's Day and I was so impressed by the food! We had to wait for 30 min because it was busy for Mother's Day, but the hostess was great and kept a great line of communication. Our waitress was so nice and funny she really loved her job and her customers!! The food was delicious. My ham and cheese omelette was delicious and I loved the blueberry pancakes. They give you a huge portion, So if you go make sure you are hungry!! I would definitely go back for more delicious food!! read more

Came here on a Sunday morning. From the looks of the parking lot, which is in the back of the building, it seemed like it was going to be too full, but when we got inside, there were a decent amount of tables open and we were able to sit right away. This was my first time being there, but was with people who had been there before. At first, they were concerned that they were only going to accept cash as that had been the case previously. However, when we went in just yesterday, we saw that they accepted cards as well. The server was friendly, and the service was quick, which was exactly what we were looking for. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, which was just OK I would say. The English muffin was soft, and I usually like my toasted muffin to have a little crispy to it. The other picture is of the Portuguese hash omelette, which was well enjoyed by my partner. The home fries were very well, seasoned and quite tasty. the overall ambience was like an older country kitchen type place. read more

Their coffee was so disgusting I couldn't drink it. The "Belgian waffle" was an ego toaster waffle. The potatoes were raw. The pancakes were good except the "fresh strawberries" were still frozen and clearly from the frozen food section of the supermarket. The omelette was ordered with Swiss and it came with American. Food is good service can be confusing (giving your order and and your food arrives with items not there do to wait staff inexperience. Giving an excuse but more then happy to fix . The overall ambience is a clean restaurant only issue is that tables are constantly sticky due to the finished applied to the top of tables . It's not just your table but every table , kind of amusing watching people come in for the first time asking about the stickiness because it was you at one point . Been a family classic for as long as I can remember. As we all know COVID really did effect everything and hours of operation were severely impacted by this. Just visited The Boondocks 11/23 it was absolutely wonderful! As a server and a daughter of a diner owner from NH I was very happy to have found The Boondocks while in town for our daughters bball tournament! I had a bacon tomato and spinach omlet with a perfectly Toasted english and the homefries i am going to crave those! My husband got some sunny eggs, homefries, bacon sausage and french toast! The Portuguese homemade hash was delicious! Tammy our server was friendly and fast and all the workers were working hard! Loved it! Will be back next year! Cant wait already read more

Snippy waitresses and ownership. Won't take responsibility for their untrained staff and inability to handle simple orders. I have a gluten allergy and they had no way of confirming to me that my order was gluten free - not on the slip, cook couldn't remember and they poo poo'ed me when I brought it to their attention. I am not one to leave reviews but after giving this place a try a good 5 or 6 times, I can't help myself. Every time we have waited an insanely long time, especially for breakfast food which is typically pretty fast. I tried again today with my family and we waited 2 hours for our food to come out. People were paying for their coffees and leaving because their food was taking so long. On top of that, the waitress was rude, literally rolled her eyes and sighed when I asked for water and a coffee (apparently only one drink is doable). After the wait and the rude staff, food was nothing impressive; burnt toast, bland home fries, honestly, nothing worth sitting there for that long. It's too bad because there's not much in the area but that's probably the only reason they have customers. read more

This is definitely one of the best breakfast places in the area. It's got a huge parking lot and pretty big building which is great when you're going out to breakfast with a group. We had to wait a while for our breakfast on a Saturday morning at 11a but that's typical and wouldn't expect anything else. I came across The Boondocks while looking for a new breakfast place to try out. It's nice to mix things up once in a while. I saw they had a great rating so I figured it was a safe bet. Unfortunately I was wrong. I actually went twice. The first time was on a Sunday, about a month ago, the second time was a Tuesday. I ordered as steak bomb omelette both times. The restaurant was very busy the Sunday we went and the noise level inside made it impossible to think, let along talk with my family, the acoustics of the place seem to amplify the normal din of a breakfast eatery into a mind-numbing cacophony that left me with a mild headache. The food was decent but hard to enjoy due to the noise level. The Tuesday visit was much quieter, with far fewer people, but it was still pretty noisy. The real miss on Tuesday was the food. The steak was very gristly, dried out, and poorly assembled and the potato shreds were dry and completely devoid of seasoning. It was very disappointing. Not what they were. Maybe that's good in some aspects - people got cocky before pandemic and ignored safety precautions, and food or service wasn't consistent. Hopefully second chances make for better experience but seems too soon to tell with fewer hours open and smaller selection menu. read more

First visit: Food was awesome but service and waiting for it were ridiculous. There was a wait when we arrived which is nothing unusual. They seated 2 separate others and completely skipped us. Once seated, took our drink order quickly. Came back for food order & ordered 2 pancakes & French toast. Took them an hour & a half. Called in breakfast meals while I'm home visiting and it was good. Nothing spectacular, but I wasn't expecting too much so it was fine for what I was looking for. Eggs were cooked well, potatoes had some flavor... pancake was good, but pretty heavy and dense. The to go order didn't come with condiments or anything so I was lacking some syrup and ketchup. Wait seemed long and even as a to go order, I waited a little while in the store kind of in people's way. I continue to be a huge fan of this little place! It's gotten quite popular and deservedly so! I've still only made it for breakfast but it's always good when I come. (One time there was a new cook on and the pancakes were underdone but he personally came out and apologized profusely and made them again. Awesome!) Service is good and friendly and fast. The only time the food is a little slow is if it's very busy in there. (Eg the only time it was slow for me was when every single table, booth and seat at the counter was taken. That's quite understandable) I love coming here and hope they continue to be here for many years. read more
