Hard to find but worth it. The place is small, but the food is what we came for and we were greatly impressed. We had two 12" pizzas (the only size available) with 8 slices each. We got the prosciutto, soppresso and it was spicy but not too much we loved it. Our friends got the sausage roasted pepper pizza. We both said it's the best we've ever had! Good food but setting needed some attention. Before making a reservation, I asked if they had air conditioning. I was told of course. After we settled in, we asked about it as it seemed very warm. The waitress informed us that they had air conditioning but it did not work too well. Seemed like a bait and switch. Despite that, the food was good and we hope to be back when it has cooled down. After a long walk at Glenbow provincial park, we were obviously hungry:) Found this highly rated restaurant and it sure was really cool. We ordered Marinated Mozzarell, 4 Chesse Pennne, and garlic bread. They've very mentioned vegetarian options on the menu which was of great help. Service was fast and great. I couldn't stop noticing but I think the staff was speaking Italian, not sure though. Can you confirm? :) Good authentic Italian. No complaints about the quality of food. The first time we ate here it was exceptional. The last time we visited The Boot the dishes we had were mediocre: -bruschetta was 'meh' - we really enjoyed one, the other 2 we did not enjoy. However the bread was fresh. - tortellini left a lot to be desired - potato and roasted garlic flat bread was good, however the potato wedges are substantial which doesn't seem appropriate for a flat bread. read more

Excellent food. Great to have a new restaurant in Cochrane. The service is attentive in a family run kind of way. And it's an attractive little room. I had Tagliatelle Bolognese on the first visit. It was a generous potion of perfectly cooked fresh pasta with a lovely rich ragout. On the next trip I had the tortellini with a sausage cream sauce that was fantastic. The tiramisu is light and flavourful. The best I've had in Alberta. Prices are good for entrees, but $10 should get you more than three small pieces of bruschetta. All in all, a solid addition to Cochrane's restaurant offerings. read more

I'm not sure when they opened but I think it's recent. The restaurant is owned by a couple who is actually Italian so they knew what they were doing. My friend and I went on a Thursday for lunch around 1pm and we got a table right away. The service was good, a little slow on the time but it was worth the wait. All the food that we ordered was great but I recommend the pizza more than the pasta. read more

The food was very, very good! My wife ordered lasagna. I sampled a little and it was tasty, not drenched in sauce. My daughter had the rigatoni. It was cooked al dente and a big portion. Brought my family here not once but twice while we were in town. Food is great and service was fantastic. Had the caprese salad, pizza for kids, seafood pasta, shrimp pesto pasta, tortellini pancetta and sausage, then tiramisu and cannolis. Everything was great! Our family of 6 got lucky that there were a couple tables for us. We ordered fried calamari as an appetizer. My husband got the lasagna, I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, our 3 teenage girls ordered 4-cheese Alfredo, and our young son got the pepperoni pizza. It was all so yummy!!! Worst dining experience that I have had in awhile - maybe ever. The first portion of lasagna delivered was burned and dried out. When I complained the waitress took it away, brought another lasagna and then charged me for two meals. Tried to talk to the manager but received no recourse. Then the chef came out to ask how much of the first portion I had eaten - like it was a negotiation. What a joke - paid for 2 meals that I didn't eat. Would strongly recommend that you never go to this restaurant. If you are looking for a good Italian meal go to the Portofino - it is just across the parking lot. Went on Saturday morning and had the Bruschetta Trio for an app (A little over priced) but was excellent. Had spaghetti and lasagna for mains excellent choices. Had tiramisu for desert great. We visited during a week night recently. it just happened that they had been trying out new wines to update their wine list that day. Best pasta in Cochrane, by a long shot. Authentic Italian food from an authentic Italian chef. The prosciutto wrapped date appetizer is one of the best bites I've ever had. Pizza is Roman style, oval thin crusts with fresh ingredients and many unique toppings. Limited seating, so definitely make reservations if you can, or be prepared to wait. read more

Surprising great! Read the good reviews, but the fun atmosphere, tasty food and good prices were all better then expected. The marinated mozzarella was one of the best appies we have ever had. The boring old spaghetti and meatballs was a treat. I loved it and so did my kids! The taste is hard to describe, but it left me wanting more. All for a price compatible to more genetic "chains". Been here four times now and last night was not good compared to other times. Pizza was topped with shrimp that didn't seem to be cooked thoroughly enough and server took the minimal path (took the shrimp off the pizza rather than take the whole pizza back to the kitchen). Caesar salad was very tasty but also had quite a bit of oil...I didn't mind but one of our party didn't prefer that. Based on past experiences leading to expectations....disappointed. read more

4th visit here, and was disappointed in my dish. Other 3 times, it was excellent Italian food. This time I ordered the bechamel chicken & was disappointed. I expected a chicken breast, but the chicken was sliced razor thin. Will still go back but will stick to the pasta dishes / pizza. read more

Had a very bad experience today. Went here for a meal to celebrate with my husband and son. Husband and I ordered a pizza each, our son a pasta dish. The meals came but unfortunately both pizzas had raw dough throughout. We just could not eat them. We sent them back and were told fresh ones would be made in 3 minutes. After 15 minutes the new ones came but again as we cut into them they were raw also. At the same time the lady sat behind me was having the same problem with her pizza. We were told that the batch of dough the cook was using was probably faulty. The server said that no charge would be made for the pizzas. Again the pizzas went back. By this time our son had finished his meal and we had not even started ours. I ordered a completely different meal as I I wasn't going to chance the raw pizza again. When the bill arrived I noticed that we had been charged for two meals. After a lot of back and forth between the server and cook/owner we eventually had the two meals taken off the bill. We left a tip for the server as it wasn't her fault. It certainly spoilt our celebration as we were all eating at different times. We will definitely not return or recommend this restaurant. read more
