    Boro, from their website

The Boro Bar & Grill is geared towards the neighbouring M.T.S.U. They serve tons of different bottled beers, and lots and lots of Pabst Blue Ribbon, the signature beer of all college rock bars. The vibe of the bar is totally laid back. Whoever is charge of the music has great taste. I was in there waiting to hear a band play, and the room music played by the bar was fantastic, they played Portishead, and Fugazi. I was floored. I never hear these bands. So, I instantly had a good feeling about the Boro. They have a full food menu. The selection is pretty typical bar food it includes sandwiches and hot wings. They have beer specials and can get pretty crowded throughout the school year. Its is a lot quieter in the summer months. They have huge garage doors that they can open onto the patio to make the entire bar open air. This is when the Boro is at its best. The bar is definitely not a classy joint, but for a college bar, that hosts bands, its not bad at all. The sound system is always brought by the bands playing that night so that sound can be hit or miss. They do have free wifi!

The staff is great and I've heard some good music there but the owner is very unprofessional.

Good bands like to play here, and they open the side (garage) doors in the summer so you can catch the breeze inside.

The Pond doesn't disappoint. It is exactly what one would expect when seeking a dive bar atmosphere. A little ratty, a little rowdy and a whole lot of fun. The coup de grace was they had Guinness on tap, which was completely unexpected. We traveled to Franklin looking for an alternative to Broadway in Nashville on our first night in town. It is worth the trip. Franklin is a very old town with great old architecture and buildings over 200 years old that still look stunning. The Pond was the real reason for my drive down although it was our last stop on our tour of Franklin. The staff was friendly, the Hamburger and fries was delicious, and the beer was cold. They have many options to choose from on tap. They have Darts inside and a couch you'd find down in your friends basement that he found on a tree bank trash day, but that simply adds to the dive bar charm. We stayed for one drink and the burger as we were exhausted from a red eye flight the night before. If you're looking for a dive bar that stays open late and apparently gets packed as the night goes on, this is the spot for you. Most places close early in Franklin, so this is apparently the after hours spot that everyone ends up going to when all other options are closed. The Pond reminded me of a few dive bar spots in Vegas, and I have to recommend you pay them a visit, if for no other reason, just to say you've been there.

There is a cool bar and dining area on the first floor, as well as an other indoor section on the second floor I chose the grilled brie, a starter, for my meal, and it was delicious! Loaded with pesto and garlic, and served with delicious sourdough toast. Also got a side of steamed broccoli. Hubby order the signature burger with chicken, with a side of onion rings, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Our server was personable, but we happened to spend more time speaking with Aaron who assisted, and he was great. Would definitely return.

After waiting about 40 minutes, I politely asked if she had an estimate on how much longer it would be (we ordered one burger and fried cheese to split). She responded that "I don't" and walked away without offering to check on the order or provide any explanation. Because of the extended wait and the way the situation was handled, I crossed out the tip on my to-go order. During the wait, we weren't offered a water or any acknowledgment of the delay. After I asked about the order, Abby proceeded to speak negatively about me to the kitchen staff loudly enough for the entire bar to hear. That was completely unprofessional and unnecessary. I had simply asked for an update after waiting well beyond the time we were originally given. I understand that delays happen, especially when a restaurant is busy. However, it wasn't busy. My issue is not with the wait itself, but with the dismissive attitude and unprofessional way the situation was handled. Hope they improve their staffing soon.

They did NOT disappoint!! I am officially hooked! From the moment we walked in, I could see and feel the sheer energy coming from the crowd and the ambiance: it already felt like great food and great people. It was packed to the brim for Wine Wednesday! They had one table available for two! Our server, Sarah, was outstanding!! She was sweeter than pie and extremely attentive! She always made sure we had exactly what we wanted when we wanted it. She advised sharing a bottle of wine since we wanted the same one, and since it was half price most wines. The young manager on duty delivered and uncorked the bottle, and she was just as sweet as Sarah! Her name escapes me, but I will find out the next time I go. The Spanish Tempranillo we tried was divine! It was perfectly balanced without being too dry or too tannic or too sweet. It was so smooth and thoroughly enjoyable to drink! For food, we started with the goat cheese bruschetta. It was perfection - rich in flavor and well balanced in the distribution of each component! From there, we tried the special of Steak Tips Au Pauvre - with a peppercorn wine sauce. We chose brussels sprouts as our side, and it also came with a side salad. We weren't too hungry, so we split it. Sarah even had the kitchen split both the salad and the main dish in half for us! The salad was so fresh (with ripe grape tomatoes!!) and the ranch dressing was classic and delightful. The wine sauce was everything I wanted it to be: rich, complex, thick, and buttery. It reminded me of the beautiful sauces you find on a steak or chicken dish at a sidewalk cafe in Paris. The dessert menu looked amazing, but we didn't have any room left. All I can say is you MUST try this place!!! If you can find Sarah, even better!

Comfortable w a low noise level. We started with noise salads which were very small. The dressings were very good. My wife and I both had the beef tips special (mine medium rare, hers medium well) - the meat was tough and chewy on both. She had the garlic mashed potatoes and they were excellent! I had the broccoli and it was perfectly cooked and served still hot! All in all a great first experience - made that way because of Eli our server! Thanks for a good meal and great service!
