Food was amazing. Fresh vegetables, seared steak and great sauces. Will be back, wife got southwest and I got Korean BBQ.

My coworker and I ordered two different meals: the Southwest Steak & Sweet Potato Bowl and the Buffalo Mac Bowl.

I have gone here for Cuban food, which I recommend. This time I went for Nicaraguan…read more It is difficult to find their Nicaraguan menu. It is not on their website. Those pictures posted to their Google Maps are old and don't show it either, apart from some mentions on a marker board. The setting is good and the service is friendly and patient. I had not had Nicaraguan food before and while it has some elements of other Latin cuisines, I benefited from descriptions and recommendations from the host. I settled on a Fritanga, which was a massive plate of beans and rice, grilled pork, grilled steak, plantain chips, half of a soft plantain, a slaw, and came with fried cheese. I got a small, and now have some nice leftovers. On the side I got some boiled cassava "yuca mojo" which had a tasty sauce and was topped with onions. I have had fried but this was my first time with boiled. With a little salt this was very good. Everything in the Fritanga was delicious. It came with a couple of sauces. I found that the creamy mayonnaise-like sauce went well with the grilled pork, and the pickle-y sauce went well with the steak. I would have liked to have had more of each of these. The fried cheese is just that. No extra ingredients, just some oil to fry it. Not sure what kind of cheese. It came off a bit salty. As I was asking for boxes to take all my leftovers home, the host offered me a piece of Tres Leches Cake. This is light and delicious with a nice cream on top. Very nice of them to offer. I wish I had taken a picture of the menu. There are many other Nicaraguan offerings that sound good. A great meal and enough for another!

Ive tried Cuban food several times but dont think ive tried Nicaraguan before. Its very similar…read morewith bases of rice&beans & plantains but many of the dishes I hadn't heard of. I've been a few times and tried their cubano sandwich, Salpicón and fritanga. The cubano was standard, not bad but I've had better but it was huge (as were all their portions) & I was easily full from half and it came with fries too. The salpicón was different, like a lime tuna salad served cold w/ rice & beans, plantains and a creamy dip for the plantains. While I don't know if I'd order this as a full entree again it was refreshing & citrusy and if you like tuna salad you'll like this. I've also tried their fritanga which is a platter of grilled pork (Al pastor style) and steak on a bed of rice & beans and plantains. The beans & rice were mixed together and were good. It came w/ a little pickled slaw but it wasn't enough & I was disappointed they were out of non-sweet plantains which I prefer & either forgot or no longer include the creamy dipping sauce for the plantains & fried cheese so I was a bit disappointed. It wasn't bad but a bit plain just being meat beans and rice essentially. The prices are kind of high but the portions are huge and has always lasted more than 1 meal. The small fritanga I had 1 full meal from and then added some avocado and salsa to make 2 more huge burritos.
