I placed an order for two bras on February 9th and was told they would arrive in approximately 6 weeks. On March 24th, I received a call letting me know that only one of the bras had arrived. I called on April 29th requesting a refund for the missing item and was told the owner would call me back, but I never received a response. I called again on May 19th regarding the refund request and was told the same thing, yet I still have not received a callback. I understand delays can happen, but after several months of waiting and multiple unanswered refund requests, the lack of communication and customer service has been extremely disappointing. read more

They sell itchy bras and very uncomfortable!! They custom tailor the bras if needed but very very amateur sewing. Not impressed at all. If you show up and they decide they're closing early they just look at you through the locked window without even trying to raise a finger to help or say we're closed. They just leave you standing there like an idiot. I paid about $500+ for a few new bras and they all sucked like the cheap uncomfortable stuff you'd buy from Walmart labeled cross your heart. Where to begin? The first time I ordered 2 Sports bras. It took over 2 months for me to get one. when I went in, I was told by Courtney only 1 came in. she said she would call me when the second one came in. she never did. so I start calling in. I was told no not yet. I finally decided to go in for alterations for the original bra and asked about my second bra. Courtney try's to now convince me that I never requested the order of the second bra. Because I love my original bra I agree to pay for her to order 2 more bras. I suggest for her to order my actual band size (1 size down) so that I don't have to pay an additional $10 Again for them to cut it down to my size. I talked to the owner about it 3 -4 days later because I'm not feeling good about the miscommunication, unprofessionalism, and how long it's going to take. The owner now takes responsibility makes it right in my opinion. Fast forward to today, which took about a month since I ordered. I pick up my bras. Get home to try them on and the cup size is 2 sizes bigger. I did call "Courtney" to let her know and again her first statement was I thought I told you. ‍ After paying $161.71 for 2 sports bras and end up with 3 I can not wear, I found them on Amazon for $50 read more

I get that this store may have a more personalized service than some people may be used to but when someone is in your store for the first time, it might be beneficial for your employees to explain how your system works. I told the lady on the floor that it was my first time in your store and she failed to explain to me when she said "the bras are in the back" that she was going to: a) walk with me into a dressing room and ask me to take my shirt off b) ask to stay in the room while I tried a bra on c) when I told her I didn't want her in the room she walked away for a moment and then poked her head in the dressing room AS she asked "mind if I take a peek" - she did NOT wait for an answer from me, which would have been no. I get the idea of trying to be personal, but I don't need someone to look at me in a bra to tell me if it fits. Absolutely unprofessional and unexpected and I quickly took off the bra, got dressed, and immediately left. Again - this may be their custom with regulars but when someone tells you they have never been there before, you should expect that that means the person has no idea how you operate and is not expecting a person to literally put her head in your dressing room while you are trying on bras. read more

I was experiencing a myriad of situations wherein I needed rather immediate relief in the form of a bone-in bra & corset. Additionally, I was unsure & a bit curious of my current bra size. Note: I have been a customer of The Bra Shoppe previously (anytime my bras start to look or feel wonky) I always go to them for a no-appointment needed bra-measurement visit. Today was a hectic Friday morning and I arrived at the Bra Shoppe close to its opening 10am. Alice was quiet yet lovely as I was exasperatedly explaining my needs. She then went about her work of sizing me, was nothing short of amazing when she, in no time at all, found THE item (a solid black 38H bone-in corset) that saved the day! The 'girls' felt dramatically better. I took it & pre-ordered a nude one. After thanking Alice, I may have thanked God too - THAT's how much I felt my needs were met by Alice & The Bra Shoppe. Also, they have an onsite Seamstress who help customize the bra ensuring that the bra fits custom to your body. The seamstress also will fix broken wires! I am a dressmaker and I was in search of bra cups for my client's dress. My mother and sister recently visited The Bra Shoppe in search of bra cups for my sister's wedding dress, and said they have a decent selection to choose from. However, when I went in to seek bra cups for my client's dress. I was rudely told that they do not carry them, and that I ought to go to GoodWill and cut up a used bra for the dress! I was shocked! As a professional, why would I choose to use secondhand materials on my client's dress? Perhaps it was that I am a man, or gay that put them off. However, those are not viable excuses! There was potential for me to help drum up business with me sending my clients to them. However, after the discriminatory and rude service they lost my respect and the opportunity. First time here with my daughter and when the lady in front so very rudely said "can I help you" and when we explained it was our first time here she preceded to say okay do you want a fitting? No explanation on how it works or anything. Then she said all bras are in the back. Okay well can you at least explain to us how your shop works and maybe with a little more customer service voice? I honestly don't know how this store stays in business! The staff here is not very friendly or accommodating I've been here several times and every time I've found the ladies that work here to be really uppity and snobby. They have a very small selection of bras and they order from LA and tell you it takes a month to receive it. I ordered a black bra from them and pre paid for it and when my boyfriend went to get it, they told him it had been there for a week so they sent it back. I never got my bra or my $78 back! I had bought 900.00 in bras. I had one that I bought 2 of the same. After wearing one of them it was not very comfortable and rubbed my armpit raw, so the one I never wore I wanted to exchange. They would not even let me exchange! What a disappointment. I will never frequent this place again, very unprofessional. Yet they are trying to get a state contract for post mastectomy. My bra that had to be mailed came in about 3 weeks, altered and fits great! Hooray! I think their slogan should be, "When Your Rack Doesn't Fit Off the Rack!" Not only are you educated on how to keep your ta-ta's looking as good as you can for life, you leave with a bra or bras that are so comfortable you could wear them to sleep. I have reached a point of desperation that I am willing to sacrifice a 90 mile drive to be properly fitted again. My first and only visit was too many years ago when I lived in Tehachapi. I heard about the Shoppe from my carpooler and promptly made appointments for myself and my teenage daughter. We are both heavy busted and small framed. I was determined to educate my daughter that it is important to take care of the girls with proper support and a GOOD bra. And to hopefully improve her posture. This trip was a bit of a sacrifice for a single mom, but ABSOLUTELY worth it the mac & cheese we ate for a couple of weeks :o) We were both properly fitted and bras altered. The staff was professional, friendly and helpful. They made certain that my daughter was comfortable with her fitting. I have not found customer service like theirs anywhere! I think we both wore out those bras until they fell apart several years and thousands of hand washings later. If you're difficult to fit and find yourself with 3 boobs when you walk out of those mall stores because they ''measured you as a 36C' make an appointment here. First and last time shopper. Not customer friendly from the time I entered the store. Clerk wanted to stay in room while I tried on the bra. Told her I knew how to put on a bra and was not comfortable with her in the room; she did leave the room. Brought only three bras for me to try. When I asked if there were more, she says, and I quote, "Well, no, you are an odd size." Who says that to a client! The fitting room in which I was, is apparently the pass through from the back to the front because another worker started to barge in while I was in there until the first lady stopped her. Fourth and final mistake - kept calling me darling the whole time I was there - she is half my age and I am not her darling nor is it my name. After shopping in the "very popular" undergarment stores for my entire life I decided to give this shop a try to keep it local. Upon entry, I felt much more at ease than walking into those larger brand store fronts. I was greeted very kindly by the owner (and pleased to find the owner actually worked on the floor) who explained the options and made me feel so comfortable. I thought undergarments were dreaded items that we were required to wear as women and thrown off the second we got home. I learned that my thought process was created by years of buying uncomfortable ill-fitting items from people with little to no professional experience in this field. I walked out with much more confidence than I entered with, my old bra in the trash, knowledge of how to properly care for my items with the recommended cleaner I purchased from there, as a lifelong customer. They show you how the items should fit, offer altering, and teach you how to care for them so they last a long time. They can also order in several options! I've sent several friends and family members in who left with the same experience as my own. So glad to know there are still small, local businesses like this one! A job well done! I purchased here before years ago when I lived in Bakersfield. Recently I visited from Arizona and made a quick trip this this shop. Years ago, Susan fit me well and I was pleased. This time I had a sales person (new to me) who told me Le Mystere ( my previous bra of choice) was still made in the USA. The bra was itchy but it fit.- So, i purchased 2 bras at $70+ each. Got home, washed them BY HAND IN COLD WATER and they are so itchy I HATE wearing them. Also, the sales person lied (or mispoke) as the bras are now made in China. For years I've struggled with my top size because it's not easy to find anything that fits correctly, and it's always super expensive to buy a bra, bathing suit, cute lingerie, especially because my bottom half is much smaller. I agree with many of the other reviews that said if you're looking for cute-sy bras, go somewhere else but if you want a great fit, this is the place. I have purchased specialty long line bras for my wedding and as a bridesmaid and even though it's pricey, you can actually wear it all day without being uncomfortable. The staff is so great and knowledgeable and will bend over backwards to make sure you get what you need. Also, they record your fit and purchases in their computer system so if you needed to remember size or style of past purchases, they have it. read more
