This was by far the worst experience I have ever had in shopping for clothing of any sort. I heard so many great things about this store I couldn't help but think they might be able to help me too. I usually like to promote locally owned businesses but I have had 2 unsatisfactory experiences at this store and my daughter has had one as well. For the cost of their bras, I expect great fit and comfort as well as quality that lasts...unfortunately, I did not find this either time I have made purchases here. I will not be back -- I have since had wonderful shopping experiences at Victorias Secret in Valley Plaza. Though VS' bras aren't inexpensive, they are MUCH more comfortable and fit me better than both bras I bought at The Bra Shoppe and the VS bras have lasted well (I am careful about following washing and drying instructions). My daughter's experience was much the same as mine -- the strapless bra she paid over $50 for at The Bra Shoppe (and had a saleswoman fit her for) was so uncomfortable she only wore it once...needless to say, she buys hers at Victorias Secret now too! read more

I went into this shop to get help finding a great bra. But all i got was two old ladies that were snobby nd i felt like i was wasting there time. The bras they brought out for me look at nd try on look like something my grandma would wear. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. So i would say i stuck with Victoria secret. I just can't believe these reviews on here. I've been buying my bras here for years now and I will never buy anywhere else. The quality is way better than competitors. The staff educate you on how to wear a bra properly and they do all the work finding the best bra for me. I've never encountered anything less than a friendly helpful staff. I had been to this shop a couple times over the years to buy bras and my experiences didn't turn me into a loyal customer but they weren't bad either. My latest experience was BAD. I bought a nude bra and a black bra of the same style, size and brand. The black bra wasn't available so it was backordered. I was told it would take a month to get. Two months later after no word from The Bra Shop, I called to check up on the order. I was told the bra wasn't available and that I could come in to check out a similar one. I went in, got my similar bra and it was $10.00 less than the original one. I couldn't get a refund but had to take the difference in the form of a shop credit. The inventory is low and they have to wait for bulk orders to place a bra order. It takes a month on a good day to get an order. They don't call with updates on the order. They don't apologize for the delay. You can't get a cash refund, only store credit. Even though it was their mistake! Not great customer service. And in this day and age of Amazon and next day deliveries, customer service is the only way for a brick and mortar to survive. Unfortunately, the ladies at The Bra Shop are late in that realization. As much as I hate to do it, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Totally incompetent! My mother went in today to get a fitting and to look into getting a couple of new pieces. Upon her arrival the women were not welcoming. My mom proceeded to get a fitting and when she asked the woman what she felt was the best color bra to wear under a flowy white blouse the women responded, "because of you skin color, black would probably be best." While my mother is of a darker complexion she is FAR from anything similar to pitch black! I am in no way implying that this woman was racist I am simply appalled by her lack of common sense. Can anybody tell me a time wear they witnessed a person wearing a black bra under a stark white shirt and it didn't scream trashy?!? I'm pretty sure the more sensible answer would be something in a nude tone. These ladies really need a lesson in customer service and bra 101. Get it together ladies! read more

Best fitters I've ever had. ANYWHERE! i went from a 36DD before i was pregnant to an explosion of boob... And was recommend here by the maternity store in the mall. Amazing service; the woman there asked me what i looked for in bras and already knew what i would need in terms of strap and band widths. She fitted me with a 36F. 4 or so months later i grew again, tried other specialty stores closer where i live and all where a bust of women who where lost in what to do with my boobs, being as im not overweight and have such large breasts. I came back to this store and was satisfied in under twenty minutes of trying on only two bras. Back pain vanished. I feel smaller and more proportioned. They said they will transform my bra into a nursing bra when the time comes. I will forever only get bras from here. Inregards to the rating of $$$.... My. new 38G cost 70 dollars. It is literally heaven for women. If I had only known of this shop years ago! Every time I have been here I get excellent service!!! All you need to do is walk in, tell them what you're in need of, and they work their magic to find you the best bra of your life. No need to mess around and try on tons of options, they are experts and know what will fit you. I cannot say a bad thing about this shop. I tell every woman to forget other shops altogether; why waste time searching all of Bakersfield when you can have the best service at the Bra Shoppe? read more
