It was the same beer called devolve. I liked the beer it was light with a nice fruity taste. Northfork looks like they set up shop in a garage which is pretty cool, they designed it well but I wonder how they stay open in the winter. I did like the atmosphere of nice fresh air coming in from outside. I liked North Fork definitely a good brewery to check out!

Super nice and approachable, let us sample anything we wanted. I went with a flight to start out with since there was a nice variety of options. I'm not an IPA person, so I opted for a peach sour, a pilsner, a wheat beer and one wild card that was bitter but in a good way. I love a good sour and had to get a second glass of the peach beer after my flight. Prices are reasonable, flights are around $12 for four pours, and a draft beer is $9. They also have cans to go if there's a beer you fall in love with and want to take home with you. They have a rotating food truck out back (it was Greek food when we came here) and also had a few empanadas. We did the three for $13 and got a variety. Our bartender accommodated us by leaving the black bean one on a separate plate since one of us don't eat meat. Ambiance here is chill and laid back, there are several games you can play and there was live music you could hear playing from next door at Montauk Distilling Co. which was a nice touch. A solid place to spend a nice Sunday - I was honestly surprised they weren't packed.

Yeah I know we're still living in the Covid times, but grab that mask, squeeze on some sanitizer, and social distance your way over to Tradewinds Brewing in Riverhead. I did just that with my female counterpart a little more than a month ago. And that's why I'm flabbergasted! Tradewinds still has no posted reviews and that's a shame (because they're a pretty respectable brewery). Maybe it's the fact that many might not even realize that in a short chunk of time, Tradewinds morphed into existence from Crooked Ladder Brewing. It's the same spot and the same look, style, and feel, but don't expect the same beers. Well, don't expect the same employees either. I say that in a positive manner because when we strolled in the guy behind the bar was amazingly nice. Without asking, he explained everything on tap and even offered to open up a can of something not available via draft. The friendly interaction really set the mood for our brief time there, even if we were seated out on West Main Street at one of the tables setup along the sidewalk. Okay, beer time. No flights were available from what I gathered (at least at that time) plus I was the driver of the day so I went with just one pint. A few IPAs, a light lager, a hefeweizen, smoked maple stout, and one other (we'll get to him in a second) made up the menu. From the aforementioned employee's description of the beers, I went for HopShip, a New England style IPA with just enough subtle hoppy bite to work well on the palate and hit the proverbial spot on a warm September day. Honestly I might've skipped the review (perhaps like others?) if I had stopped at just this pint, but I did actually come with other drinkable thoughts in mind...that last beer I left out was actually Tradewinds' own pumpkin ale by the name of Incarnation. Instead of trying it there, I took the chance (which I don't normally don't) and bout a reasonably-priced four pack of this brew. Cans to go is always a plus, by the way. The next night, despite my own chagrin of saying I wouldn't drink anything pumpkin related until after Labor Day (it was two days prior), I popped a can and poured one out into a glass. Maybe my expectations were super high, but Incarnation didn't entirely hold the embodiment (pun intended) of a pumpkin beer I hoped for. Better than many basic ones, but not of the upper gourd echelon. I still have a few cans remaining to see if that changes. Time will tell. Overall, if I take the Untapped scores of the two beers I tried and average them out, I'd get a total that's close to four, and so that seems about right for Tradewinds on star total. I mean they have a lot of promise to be something spectacular. With a great location in the heart of Riverhead, super friendly staff, and a handful of beers that seem like they're trending in a decent direction, I'd say five stars is certainly (eventually) possible. Hopefully the word gets out (at least after this review) because I want to see someone else type up their opinion. Let's go Yelp fam. Drink up!

Yelp actually brought us to Tradewins as other breweries in the area were closed for winter break. We looked Tradewins up and decided to go. We were greeted instantly by the beer-tender when we walked in. It's small inside, which does make it difficult with Covid, but it wasn't crowded so we were able to grab a table. We both went with a pumpkin beer. No cinnamon rim, but it was delicious and cold. Lots of beers on tap. Due to covid, chips are a must purchase. Also lots of 4 packs available for purchase with select varieties being BOGO. Bathroom was clean. Although this brewery is small, beer was delicious and service was great.

There were two bars going at Jamesport Farm when I was here - an outdoor window where you can order a quick beer, and an indoor bar that seemed to have more of a variety. I was dying for a pumpkin beer even though it was summer weather outside, but was a bit let down to find that even though there were people walking around with a cinnamon sugar rim, mine didn't get that same special treatment. No matter, it was still a good beer. I ended up trying a sour beer as well here which was very bright and refreshing. Overall, a solid selection of local beers with nice views and ample tables. We got to watch the stein holding competition while here which was really entertaining. Live music here was also a fun time. I appreciated the variety of food truck offerings as well. There are plenty of lawn games if that's what you're into. Solid spot for a beer and a good time, IMHO.

I was a little disappointed to learn they had no N/A beer options when I came in. I did get a decent hot dog though with some good chips and a pickle which was nice. I liked the atmosphere of this brewery. They had a band performing the band was pretty good. They were older, it was awesome to see some older people rocking it! The drummer looked like he was the oldest but he was kicking some @ss on those drums. The outside stone/patio area was really cool some pretty trees, some outdoor games. Visiting this brewery besides lack of N/A beer was a fun, peaceful and pleasant experience.

The inside is super cute while the outside beer garden area has plenty of chairs and tables and a little stage area for the artists to perform. Been a minute since I've had a chance to review a brewery. Honestly not going on as many beer…read moreadventures as I once was, but there are still many out there that call my name to come and check them out with Kidd Squid Brewing being towards the top of that list. My wife and I finally gave them a shot a few weeks ago when we swung through Sag Harbor on our way back from Montauk. Now Kidd Squid kept popping up on social media as one of the more "beautiful" or "pretty" breweries on Long Island, and perhaps I can jive with that as they do lean into the pink realm with some floral notes and a sort of Victorian/vintage vibe in their decor. They're definitely a warm weather spot with most seating being outside, but there's a decent amount of space and on the late Tuesday afternoon we visited there were plenty of places to sit. There were also plenty of suds to sip as their menu had a reasonably nice variety of beers to try. The staff member behind the counter was friendly and gave me a few recommendations for what was going to be my flight of four. Price on that was $14 which these days is fine, though my wife grabbed a lemonade of some brand from the fridge which cost $6...too bad she doesn't drink beer otherwise she could've ordered a half pint for that price! Anyways, my beers were all of a lighter, crispier, semi-hoppy/hazier, supposedly fruitier direction. This worked on this relatively warm summer day especially with the Kidd Pilsner as that's one of their flagship beers and it truly was crispy and felt like something I could've drank all dang day. Next up were the Longfin IPA and Bigfin DIPA which both had just the right amount of bitter kick from their respective hops to be solid brews. The only downer was the No.25 which listed as a mega-fruited ale yet I felt like it really didn't taste like much of anything. Can't win em all. Overall though I'm happy to have finally checked out Kidd Squid Brewing as they definitely have a lot to like here. Sag Harbor is usually quite out of the way for me, but I do know Kidd Squid cans a lot of their beers so perhaps I'll come in contact with them again at my local beverage spot. If not, I'll know that this was a brewery itch that was happily scratched and a place that I'd recommend to other beer fans, especially on a hot LI day.

They often host fun events like live music and game nights, so it's an easy place to spend a few hours with friends. The beer selection is excellent, with something for just about everyone, and the frozen drinks are a great option in the summer. The kitchen goes beyond typical brewery food with solid seafood and salads, while still offering classics like burgers and chicken fingers. Prices are about what you'd expect for the area, and the quality has always made it feel worthwhile. I'll definitely keep coming back whenever I'm out that way.

At around 3:30PM, the place was buzzing. There were lots of people sitting at the food area, and even more at the bar area where the band was. Lots of parking at this place, even though there were a lot of people. Ordered the Double Duck and Leaf Pile Ale, both winners. Got a couple more and tried the Leaf Pile Pie, that was good too. Decided to get food, and was surprised to see a nice selection other than the usual bar fare. They've got a full kitchen, and we got the Grilled Octopus salad, wings, and mac and cheese. The octopus salad was fantastic, don't let the rustic presentation put you off. The band was lovely, and as the night rolled in, they had the floor packed with line dancers and everyone else that just wanted to move with the music. As someone else mentioned in one of their reviews, there were a lot of kids. We'll be back though, but maybe not so early next time.
