She was quite knowledgeable about the menu items and great at helping me choose something suitable for my palate. Ani has a sweet personality and was very patient with me. I had the pleasure of speaking with the manager, Polo, who is amazing. He is kind and genuinely concerned that his customers are happy with the food and service. Polo made a great suggestion to try the knafeh dessert, which nearly melted in my mouth. It was yummy and will definitely be ordered by me, again. Polo goes above and beyond and brightened my day with a precious sketch and other treats. Just getting out of the hospital and reeling in pain, he brightened my evening by including sweet and thoughtful surprises with my order. It was the kindest thing I have experienced in a long time. Great hookah, great food, great service, great location, & free 90 minute parking in the back street. The shawarma nachos, sliders, and fries were bomb (we did not try other things). I do not smoke but my friends did compliment the klout device for the hookah and the great European brands of flavor in addition to the others that other locations have. They even had a wonderful belly dancer skilled with pyrotechnics/fire performance which was really cool. We came into this restaurant on a Thursday and it was completely empty. It was only my partner and I and several employees in the room. We ordered the vodka pasta, wagyu sliders, and Moroccan chicken. The vodka pasta is alright, I wouldn't get it again. I really liked the wagyu sliders and my partner really liked the chicken. The service was good too. However, at the end of the meal when we got our bill, I noticed there was automatic gratuity on the bill. That's really weird to me because we were a party of 2? I know automatic gratuity is usually applied to bigger parties but it rubbed off on me the wrong way that we got gratuity applied for a party of 2. I hadn't been back to this place since it was Royal Vanak. They have a really nicely updated area in the back with hookahs. Hookah was on the spot and smoked very well for over hour and a half. The kebob plate my buddy and I got was the recommended beef kebob plate. They have salmon, chicken, and lamb as the other options. I'll just say this. It's not the cheapest place in town. Between two cocktail drinks, two kebob plates, and appetizer trio and hookah the bill ran to like 180 with tip. But I enjoyed the nearly 2 hours i was there. And i'll just say the reason I have this at 5 stars is because it was undeniably the best beef kebob plate i've every had. The guy Paolo wasn't joking. When he said the beef kebob plate was their best, he was right and it was the best in town. I've been to Raffis, Shamshiri, Shiraz, you name it. This was absolutely the best beef kebob in town. Woke up thinking about how good the food was. Never gone to a hookah bar expecting much from their menu but they have a great selection that's not just your typical bar food. Our server was so sweet and answered all our questions and recommending for us coming back on a Friday or Saturday when they have entertainment. Vodka pasta, the light citrus in the dish is just an explosion in the mouth. Love this dish just get. We were group of 8, we ordered bunch of appetizers and everything was so good and delicious for the main dish I ordered mushroom shawarma and seafood pasta, both dishes were extremely salty, which I wasn't able to eat. For food, we tried the marinated olives, hummus and labne with pita bread, the avocado and gem salad, sumac cucumbers, house-cut fries, arrabbiata pasta, and the beef and chicken shish kebabs with rice. C'mon there's two of us! I had the raspberry daiquiri which was so delicate and refreshing! The strategically placed lemon peel tickled my sense of smell. We also ordered shrimp ceviche. I enjoyed the patio seating more, but indoor is lively with a DJ. It does get busier in the night. For two, we ordered the mushroom shawarma ($17), fried brussels sprouts ($16), seafood ceviche ($22), and wagyu sliders ($19). These appetizers were great for sharing. My favorite was the mushroom shawarma and brussels sprouts. For cocktails, we got the brandy ($21) and midnight kiss ($19). For hookah, we tried one of their house blends called white knight ($38). We used to be regulars at The Brandy. For a while, it was our go-to spot every week. The food quality was excellent, the service was top-notch, and the overall vibe made it one of our favorite places to dine and bring friends. Unfortunately, things have taken a major turn for the worse. Over the last few visits, the experience has consistently gone downhill. Most recently we ordered the shish kebab, which was so salty and hard that it was nearly impossible to chew or swallow. The salad came in a much smaller portion than before, lacked flavor, and was nowhere near the quality we were used to. The service, which used to be a strong point, has also declined -- it took a long time just to get water to the table. While the entertainment was okay, the overall vibe just isn't the same anymore. What's most upsetting is that the food no longer has the quality or care it once had. We genuinely gave the place three more chances, hoping it was just a temporary issue -- but sadly, the drop in quality and service has been consistent. Pricing has gone up significantly for the weekend menu (approximately 45% increase versus last year) I understand prices have gone up on everything and overhead has gone up and it's some tough times however with increased prices which I don't mind paying and even paying more then it currently listed as long there is no change in the food quality & service experience. As much as we used to love this restaurant, we've decided not to return. It's really disappointing to take a beloved favorite off our list, but the recent experiences have left us with no choice. read more

Just came back to the Brandy last week on a Thursday night. We decided to sit inside and were placed between a few other occupied tables. Service was ok, but one thing I did not understand or agree with was why the bottled aqua panna we ordered (2 bottles after each other) came back without their tops on? The second bottle we ordered came with its top off as well. And seemingly the label looked exactly like the one on the previous bottle, I only noticed because it had a kink and air bubble in the sticker again. Idk what's going on with that but I hope it gets resolved soon. The menu had also changed, we tried the mushrooms which were the star of the show. The brussel sprouts were over cooked, the "Wagyu" koobideh (which resembles nothing of Wagyu or koobideh) took forever to come out by which point we were already ready to leave. Arrived at 6:00 for our reservation and we were worried as nobody else was there. No need for worry. We loved everything. Our Labeneh with Olives hit it off perfectly with their smoky cocktail and a dry martini. We continued the same drinks and switched to pork belly tacos and salmon with salad. It all was excellent. Been here twice now and both times have been great. If you sit outside I've found it to be more enjoyable. They have hookah, drinks and food and are open late! I ordered the North east side and it was delicious. The cocktail did not taste cheap. Can't speak much on the food because I've usually been here post events so haven't needed to order food. A friend and I had gone to The Brandy tonight for dinner and to say the least, this was a very different experience compared to what we had experienced a year ago. The server we had was very adamant and pushy that we put in an order right away and kept coming by the table asking us if we were ready. We put in our order, ate, and when we were almost finished eating, they kept coming by the table asking us if we wanted to order anything else. We felt rushed, considering we made a reservation, we'd like to take our time and enjoy our experience that we're paying for. When we were paying, they handed us the wrong check and gave our check to the table next to us by mistake. Again, no matter how busy they've been, this has never happened. The server then told us that we didn't "reach the minimum" of $200 while we were paying for the check he wrongfully handed us and wasn't even ours to begin with. This was the last time I think I'd visit The Brandy as it just isn't what it use to be. read more

It was still early in the evening, and the restaurant wasn't busy at all, yet our waitress only showed up twice--once to take our order and once to hand us the check. No follow-ups, no checking in, and worst of all, the hookah and drinks we ordered never even arrived. We sat there waiting, but nothing. I'm sad to say I don't think I'll dine in again.
