I love the lounge in Glendale. I have been going here for many many years special shot out to the waiter CJ he is very very helpful. Very fun. Makes the atmosphere worth being in. Thanks CJ. Thanks Hookah lounge

Hookah, smooth coals, fruity is my go-to. My favorites have been what Leon recommends so just ask him! Helped bc Im not as familiar w hookah

I've been searching for the best hookah lounge in LA County, and I'm very sure I found it. The staple here is the vibe due to how attentive and friendly the staff and employees are here. Leon, the hookah master, knows what's good, and I can 100% trust whatever he gives me. I don't really look at the menu anymore, he just asks me a couple of questions of what I'm feeling that day. Genuine guy and knows his stuff. This is my 'home' hookah lounge now! The food is great--I get the chili bowl with chips in the evening. It's delicious with plenty of onions of it for texture. Huge screens, free wifi, and chill crowd here always. I'd say this place is even better than more expensive ones like Hookah Mojo in Hollywood. I elect to go here because it's chill, great hang out

Wish I would have known about this place sooner. Nice place with great indoor/outdoor atmosphere. They have good food and music but the hookah was fantastic. I was there two hours and didn't need to change my flavor. They kept the coals coming all night and the staff was friendly. I found my new favorite hookah spot close to Pasadena

This spot is located right in the heart of Glendale and has quickly become one of my favorite hookah lounges in LA. Not only is the hookah consistently great with tons of flavor options, but it's also one of the more affordable lounges in the city--crazy considering how good the quality is. You have to try the Asada Hummus. It's hands-down my favorite app on the menu. When I come with friends, we always order the KFC (under the Tangiers category)--it's double the tobacco and perfect for groups. But even when I go solo (yes, it's a great place to study or get work done), the vibes are still chill. My last time, the hookah guy recommended orange kiwi mint, and it was on point! Super smooth, super flavorful. Highly recommend for both the hookah and the atmosphere. Shoutout to Pearl for being great too!

As a I grew up in Highland Park I took my wife to visit The Arroyo Club bar to celebrate her recent promotion after the bar was recommended to us by a close friend. We were looking forward to a fun evening and decided to participate in the trivia game being hosted that night. After receiving an answer sheet from the host, Matt, my wife and I began playing. The trivia topic was based on an older television show that we were unfamiliar with, and we initially used our phones to look up answers. A male individual approached us and informed us that using our phones was considered cheating. We accepted that explanation, stopped using our phones, and continued playing. Later in the evening, I observed bartender Justin speaking with the same individual and appearing to provide him with answers. When I questioned how that was different from what we had been told not to do, Justin stated that it was not cheating because they were part of a group. I responded that it was only a game and not a serious issue, especially considering my wife and I had only accumulated a few points. At that point, the interaction became uncomfortable. Justin informed the host that my wife and I should be disqualified for cheating, despite the fact that we had stopped using our phones when instructed. The employee who had originally confronted us also became increasingly confrontational, which my wife and I found intimidating. I later asked another bartender, Zach, what the concern was, and he explained that the winning prize was $50. While I understand the importance of maintaining fair rules, the way the situation was handled felt unnecessarily hostile and embarrassing. What made the experience even more disappointing was that we appeared to be the only minority guests present at the time, and we observed other patrons using their phones without being confronted. This left us feeling singled out and unwelcome. My wife attempted to discuss how the situation made us feel with a female bartender who had blue hair. Unfortunately, her reaction appeared dismissive, and our concerns did not seem to be taken seriously. As we prepared to leave, the employee who had initially confronted us remained nearby staring in our direction, which further contributed to our discomfort. For reference, we were seated at the right corner of the bar if you were facing the bar from the front. I am not seeking compensation. Rather, I hope management will review the events of that evening, including any available security footage and discussions with staff members present. No guest should leave feeling targeted, embarrassed, or unwelcome while simply trying to enjoy a night out celebrating a special occasion.

ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A dark cavernous speakeasy-like place with open space, various tables and couches strewn about, and a large long somewhat decorative bar with an impressive whiskey selection displayed behind it. I appreciated the exposed brick walls which gave it that old-time feel with a few framed pictures hung on them. Minimal natural lighting came through the front doors and windows while minimal electric ceiling lights filled in rest. OVERALL It was nice to slip into The Famous Bar for the first time in over a decade, and if I found myself spending time in downtown Glendale again, I'd consider another visit. Sadly, I try to avoid the highly congested area as much as possible. I loved the fact that they had a daily happy hour (4pm-7pm) and late-night SU-TH happy hours (10:30pm-close), so there was always a deal to be found. The drinks were the main reason you came, while the food was just an add-on. The prices were elevated, but you had a good menu selection of libations (nice local craft beer list) to choose from. The customer service was easy, friendly, and straightforward. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $42.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... The cauliflower was a bit overcooked. Salmon kebob - fish was very overcooked. No seasoning or flavor. We didn't finish it. We also had a beer (they have the Craftsman 1903 which was great) and a gin and tonic which was good. Overall - I was expecting more. Had heard a lot of good things about the place. I did like the space. Would have liked a table closer to the window (there were several open but the hostess sat us far away from there in a corner even though we had a reservation). There is a Jeni's ice cream shop across the street so if none of the desserts are speaking to you, that is another option. Would probably come back to sit at the bar but likely not for dinner.

I loved the cocktail that I got (unfortunately I can't remember which drink I got but I'm sure they're all pretty fantastic), and the vibes are top notch. This was the first bar my friends and I bar hopped to that night, and it set the mood for the rest of the night. I loved how vibey and dark the bar was, and it felt very intimate.

Not only is there a wide variety of music, but they carry an impressive amount of top tier Japanese whisky, bourbon, rye, scotch, gin, mezcal, tequila, vodka, rum and more! They can make just about any cocktail, but they have some great highballs and signature drinks ranging from $14-$20. I tried the Goldliner, Japanese Old Fashioned and Nitro Espresso Martini and they were all delicious and well balanced. The bartenders are all really cool and service was pretty quick. The disco ball in the lounge area, the wall of vinyl and old photos of iconic artists give retro vibes. My friend DJ'd the night I stopped in and played nothing but 45s of classics for 3 hours. Gold Line would be my watering hole if I lived in the area!
