On the way to dinner next door, I spotted the friendly welcoming setup here at The Brass Bird and had to pop in to look around. All sorts of Charlotte and Pineville and North Carolina gifts and locally made products available here. Quite welcoming and friendly, Mrs. K. and I browsed and spotted a few interesting tidbits. We ended up settling on two local enhanced beers from their cooler and some chips. The former for her and the latter for me. Delicious. Maybe a little expensive but this is retail. Finally got to check out the Brass Bird. Stopped in to meet a few friends for a couple drinks. First impressions, the place is warm and inviting. The staff were super friendly. Once we looked over the wine list, the staff poured our glasses and we settled in for an easy afternoon of catching up. I could not help but compare this place to David's store/shop on Schitt's Creek. I love that they carry and source a lot of local products and is a space for community. After a couple of glasses, I grabbed a bag of pretzels (Queen City Crunch) which really hit the spot. Overall a great, relaxing space to spend time (computer in hand) or meet up with friends for conversation. The music in the background was good but not overwhelming or too loud so conversations could not be had. read more

It's funny that a comment below compares this place to David's store from the show Schitt's Creek, I said the exact same thing to my girlfriend when we came in here recently. We were meeting some friends for a birthday dinner nearby and the birthday girl wanted to grab a drink here before our meal. It definitely feels more like a specialty shop than a wine bar although there is bar seating and a server. Most of the people that came in shopped and then left, we were the only group that stayed for a drink. Unfortunately we didn't get the friendliest vibe from the bartender, she seemed kind of annoyed that we wanted to stay and have some drinks. The space is definitely charming and they have a lot of interesting gifts and unique beverages. I would probably come back to shop but the vibe to sit down with friends for drinks didn't really seem there. It could have just been an off day though, we've all had bad shifts, so take my experience with a grain of salt and go check it out for yourself. What a perfect addition to Main Street! My group and I stopped in here last Saturday for the rosé event and this was my first visit to the Brass Bird. I was having trouble figuring out exactly what it is, and of course I was always keen to visit on a Sunday when they're closed. Well, finally made it in, and found a cute shop and bar with local goods (jams, spreads, snacks, candies...) and a great bar menu/bottle shop. The staff were so friendly, and we enjoyed sitting at the tables in the front enjoying our wine, watching the Main Street activities outside. I really can't wait to go back! This will also be a great spot to stop in for hostess gifts and the like. read more
