The OF was a little sweet but my date LOVED the Manhattan! The starters we chose were the eggroll flight, bruschetta flight and shrimp cocktail. Each was fantastic in its own way, especially the mozzarella and pesto egg roll (my date) and the prosciutto/brie and honey egg roll (both of us). As for drinks, love that they have flights, they of course have wine flights but they also have mimosa, martini, dessert, and even bourbon flights! My husband and I decided to order their Passion Fruit Martini and Dirty Martini. Highly recommend the Passion Fruit Martini, you really can go wrong with that, however the Dirty Martini was a bit too salty for us possibly because they use blue or goat cheese stuffed olives (which was interesting in itself). The service was interesting, the owner (I believe) was super nice and friendly, however the other staff were kind of awkward. I'm not sure if they were just new or training but hopefully they've gotten into routine of things and have that ironed out now. We decided to visit this place as a last minute idea. The menu was interesting and had a number of things that sounded delicious. We opted for the flight of egg rolls (meatball, prosciutto and honey, salami and cheese) and they were delicious! Crispy, hot and very tasty. I had the crab cakes and recommend them. This place is so cute and lowkey I loved it. There is live music so that's always a plus. We came on a rainy Friday evening with prior reservations made and we walked into a bright atmosphere, where the after work conversation was flowing. I loved the orange walls and the lounge couches as well. They have small plates to choose from which is totally shareable amongst friends. My fave was the pita with prosciutto and honey. We visited for a girls night. The space is cute and tiny, kind of reminds me of a coffee shop. They weren't busy so it was quiet and perfect for our get together. However, each of us had an unfavorable experience that evening for different reasons, but I'll highlight just a few: 1. Inconsistent Drink: My first coconut martini was delicious but the 2nd one came out tasting sour. For a $14 martini I felt it was necessary let the bartender know, but her response was simply "I made it the exact same way as the first." There was no apology, no offer to take the drink back, no offer to swap out for something else, and no offer to make a new one. I felt stuck with a drink that I didn't even want so my friend made a suggestion to the bartender "How about you make this right for her and re-make the drink?" It's disappointing that the bartender didn't make an effort to correct the issue, and rather we had to ask them for a replacement drink. 2. Missing Half of my Order: I kid you not, they only brought out half of my grilled cheese sandwich. Everyone else at the table received their entire order and not only was mine late, but it was also incomplete. There was no explanation from the server as to why I only got half a sandwich. The other half randomly came out about 10-15 minutes later. 3. No Accommodations for Food Allergies: My friend is highly allergic to chocolate and even wears a necklace letting others know (in case of an emergency). One of the drinks in her $28 martini flight contained chocolate and she asked to swap it out. They wouldn't grant her request and it took us by surprise that the establishment has no regard for food allergies and would rather risk a customer's health and chances of ending up in the ER. My friend and I decided to share a bottle of wine. The server offered a taste and we decided it was tasty. It wasn't the same wine we were served. The server brought out two glasses of poured wine. Much more yellow in color than the samples. I took a taste and said it wasn't as grassy as the taste we had and the color was much more yellow which can indicate a wine that has turned. The server was adamant that it was the same wine that she served us in the tasting glasses. We drank it but I felt it was not of the same quality as the taste. read more

It's one thing to wait almost 45 minutes for your first item on your pre fixed 90 minutes menu, it's one thing to have to repeat to the owners daughter that was our and two other tables next to us server (a total of 3 couples all together) what we had ordered over 8 times before we were given our first item of food (it's so easy to just write it, down and could've prevented the back and forth), it's one thing to receive your pre fixed menu items out of order, it's one thing to deal with this all night and be gracious with our server because she just seemed so out of it, we took pity on her because she seemed so clueless, we were then approached by the owner that we could get more drinks but needed to move to the bar and at that point my boyfriend asked "really? We haven't even received the rest of our food? We've literally just been waiting on y'all" and she explained that yea, but it's a table only reserved for 90 minutes which is completely fine but atleast be aware enough to acknowledge your tables haven't received all their food at that point the table next to us stepped in because they were just as frustrated with the night they were there maybe 10 minutes after us and only received a bottle of Prosecco and one pear martini that took the bar 30 minutes to make. The owners daughter then chimes in behind her seeing we are all visible frustrated and goes "I don't know why that guy is getting involved" it was extremely unprofessional, no one was speaking to her just like how she had barley spoken to us all night. Her mother (the owner) as equally on the defense got snappy and asked what we didn't receive and we told her and then she turned to the table next to us and was like I can just offer you a refund and basically encouraged them to leave which they didn't mind at all. She finally came back to check in on us and my boyfriend simply explained it's not so much that 150 dollars for dinner + 25 add bottomless mimosas is expensive at all, we even would've been okay if food was bad (which is absolutely was) that at-least the service was good then it becomes a that's on us thing, but they not only didn't acknowledge us most of the night, the food was cold and out of order and the owner absolutely took no accountability for the awful service her bar provided she doubled down that us and the other two couples were the only ones complaining what she didn't know is we had a friend do this event earlier and they had the SAME complaints and before I wrote my review I saw another couple have the same complaints about poor service, food and no accountability for owners side. The only people she seemed to accommodate were a group of her buddies that came in she gave them hugs got them seated right away. I'm sure that's how they receive some of their good reviews is from friends/family but I absolutely do not recommend this place. The owner has zero customer service skills and put the blame on her small kitchen (which isn't fair to the kitchen staff, she was ill prepared and so in turn so where they). This also seems to be a reoccurring thing based on some reviews so I'm not sure why after two years this hasn't improved I suggest maybe not biting off more than you can truly accommodate for crowd your establishment can handle. She only offered a refund for us because a new couple sat next to us as we were about to leave and she didn't want us ruining the experience for them which is understandable you don't want them going in with a opinion based on other guests and we had no intention of saying anything because we knew the restaurant would do it own their own. It was an unorganized mess there's no way that we could've ruined it for them because this bar did that on their own. I do think instead of going on the defense and an owner and blaming your shortcomings on your lower staff that you should own it and FIX IT. No reason the big holiday events that you host are constantly getting bad reviews and you've had yet to improve. read more

Shrimp were pea size and only 4 to a "shareable" dish. Even the presentation was amateur on a piece of lettuce with a little side of cocktail sauce in the middle, and maybe a lemon on the side. The website said ask for mocktails, and all they offered was soda with pieces of fruit in it. I had even emailed the place beforehand to see if they offered mock tails and nobody even bothered to reply to my email. There are people that do not drink alcohol, and it would've been nice to know ahead of time or even to be acknowledged. Again very amateur. Ordered a ginger beer and it came out in the tiniest glass I've ever seen, diluted with ice and only half full. Took 15 mins to get it. When I asked them to fill it up they said that that was all they had left. They didn't even have coffee, which is very peculiar for a restaurant. I expected a lot more from this place as the pictures of their food and drinks on the website look amazing but don't be fooled. This place is nothing like what you see on their website. Small atmosphere and probably great if you just want wine and charcuterie. We waited two hours for 5 orders of French toast. We were originally quoted 30 - 45 minutes. Three of the french toast orders came out at the 2 hour mark, some people had to leave because of how long over the quoted time was. We were told the other orders would take an additional 30 more minutes but then they came out. So it just really seems like the communication with the kitchen was bad. The portion size was tiny as well. It was 2 pieces of super thin (think the super cheap white bread loafs at the grocery store) French bread cut in half for $12. All my kids were still hungry after but we weren't going to order any more. Three of the items on the menu we asked for had elements that weren't available. If they just streamlined the menu and only offered a few items they would probably do much better. There is live music and the entertainer was great but it was super loud and overpowered having conversation because the place was so small. But I recommend him! He was super nice and sang good music. We were told the wait was due to the small kitchen and how busy it was. There were three other tables besides our larger party and they advertised a Mother's Day special. The waitress acted annoyed when we asked about the time an hour into us ordering, so that was a bummer. We will definitely not come back, but if you just want a small wine bar, I think it would work for you. read more

This place has a lot of good reviews so I'm going to assume my experience last evening was a fluke. That being said, it was awful. My girlfriend and I arrived around 8:30pm on Friday night and sat at the bar. It was sort of busy... If I had to guess I'd say slightly more than half the tables were occupied. As soon as we sat down, the gentleman next to us warned us that the food service was very slow. We went ahead and ordered some food anyways. I ordered the pesto chicken sandwich and a greek salad. About an hour after ordering, the girl working the bar, brought out the sandwich and said the salad would be out in a few more mins. The sandwich looked a bit "thin" so I opened it up and there was no chicken. Just some pesto spread across two pieces of bread. So I pointed it out to the bartender/server and she said they ran out of chicken. I understand that restaurants run out of stuff, but what irritated me was that I waited an hour for a chicken sandwich which turned out to be two slices of lightly toasted bread with a little pesto, and it was served to me in a way that seemed like they were hoping I wouldn't notice. And no salad. We paid the bill for the wine we had and left. I would like to give this place another shot one day since it is local to where I live and does have some very good reviews, hoping it'll be a very different experience. But damn, that was pretty bad. read more

I had an espresso martini instead and it was not very good. It took an even worse turn with the food. My friend got the crab stuffed mushrooms. The crab was rotten. My friends and I were excited to get away and have a mom's night together at this hip new place in town. The experience, however, was definitely not what we were hoping for. The Scenario: We were a party of 5. Each of us ordered 2 drinks and an appetizer and spent approximately $50-$80 per person. Looking around, there were only 2-3 other occupied tables while we were there. Unfortunately, we only made it to the drinks and appetizers. Based on the food and the service up to that point, we decided a main course would be a mistake. I'll break our experience down into the good, the bad and the ugly. THE GOOD, * Décor - The restaurant décor was well thought out, although not particularly upscale. * Presentation - The presentation of the martini flights and appetizers were on point (except for the artichoke dip that was paired with baby carrots and looked like a Lunchable). The martini flights were yummy & fun. THE BAD * Flavor - In general, the flavor was lackluster. The crab dip, grilled cheese and quesadilla were essentially flavorless. * Price - The prices were definitely on the high, upscale side - roughly $20 a drink, which seems excessive for a strip mall restaurant in Fort Mill, South Carolina. I could understand if we were in Manhattan, but Fort Mill? * No accommodation for food allergies. One of the women in our party had a chocolate allergy. When she asked the manager if they could substitute the chocolate martini in the flights, she was told tough cookies. All the drinks were made from scratch, so for $28, they should have been able to do something to help her. THE UGLY * Where's My Order? - Half the table received their drinks in a reasonable time after ordering. The other half, however, didn't receive their drinks for nearly 30 minutes. Remember that we were only one of 2-3 tables sat in the restaurant - what could the staff be doing during this time? Whatever they were doing, they were not busy serving the patrons. * The Grilled Cheese Incident - When we ordered appetizers, they trickled in over the next 30 minutes. One of the women ordered a grilled cheese (at the same time as the appetizers), however, it didn't arrive for nearly an hour into our experience. Oddly, only half of the grilled cheese made it to the table, the other half took an additional 10 minutes to show. Just weird. * Triple Threat - The waitress was having trouble with the POS and charged my friend three times for her meal. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn't realize the error, and my friend had to call and request a correction. After over an hour in the restaurant, we paid our tab (some of us more than once) and left. We were all very excited about the experience coming in, but left feeling like we were stepping out of the twilight zone. We paid Manhattan prices for tasteless food, bizarre timing and missing drinks. I contacted the owner on Facebook that night to let them know about the experience. The owner (or owner's husband) messaged that they would call me the next day at noon to discuss. He called at 10:30, and I broke away from an appointment to review with him. He offered an apology and encouraged us to come back and give it another try, saying that he would "take better care of us". When the first impression is that bad, however, another try is not on the table - kind of like the mysterious missing half of the grilled cheese. read more

I am not typically the kind of person to write a review, but I was so incredibly disappointed by my experience at the Social Cork Wine Bar that I wanted to share my thoughts. I am sure the food and drinks are outstanding, but I was not fortunate enough to receive service that offered either one of those things. My boyfriend and I rarely treat ourselves to a night out, but we were beyond excited to try this new restaurant and drove almost an hour to get there. Despite having a reservation, we waited 30 minutes to get sat at a table. Although this was not particularly enjoyable, I was understanding and not upset. After getting sat, we went an additional 30 minutes without service. We were not offered drinks or even given menus. Meanwhile, 2 older couples that were sat AFTER us had drinks and were waiting on food after ordering. My boyfriend and I are young, in our 20s, and felt as if we were being ignored and brushed off for no good reason other than our age. After waiting, we were finally approached by a waitress who instructed us that the only option for food on that evening (Valentine's Day) was the preset menu. We made our reservation through OpenTable and were not informed of the change in food options. We offered to pay for the preset menu, and the waitress's response was that they were "out of everything anyways, so there was nothing they could give us." The circumstance in itself, however, was not what led me to write a review. I understand these evenings are stressful, and it was not the waitress' fault that the owner was underprepared and failed to communicate with third party sites such as OpenTable. What truly upset us was the lack of remorse by the restaurant staff, accompanied by rude gestures (eye rolling, shoulder shrugging, etc.). We were not even offered a simple apology. I worked in the service industry for 6 years and have never experienced this level of disrespect, nor would I have ever treated paying customers this way. I hope that the owner and staff consider my experience and make some changes moving forward. read more

Worse dining experience I have had in a long time. They were part of Queens week so thought we would give it a try. 6 people. 4 of us got our appetizer. (Artichoke dip was mashed to the consistency of grits, ) When we asked about the missing appetizer we were told it was missed on the ticket and would be right out. It was only a pretzel with cheese, how long could it possibly take. We'll, apparently long. The other 4 were long done before it finally arrived. As for dinner, the main courses they offered were a quesadilla, a caprese salad or Mac n'cheese. It wasn't exactly main course worthy so we ordered off their regular menu. Flatbreads were 1/2 thick and doughy. In my experience , flatbreads are just that, FLAT not thick and doughy. The couple that didn't get their appetizer only got one dinner. By the time the second one finally arrived the rest of us were again done. We sent it back and told them to forget it. (Noteworthy is that they did comp their check) As far as drinks go, the wine was good but the beer was in short supply. 3 people wanted yeungling but were told they only had 2 left (canned!) and were offered Coors Lite or Michelob Ultra as the only alternative. It appeared they had only 1 server for a busy Friday night. If they were prepared to serve only the Queens week menu then they should have said so upon our arrival. Don't advertise that you serve beer if you can't deliver. Bottom line, we were there 3 hours. service was terrible, Queens Feast menu was terrible, kitchen was disorganized, food was horrible and I would never go back. read more

I recently visited a best friend who lives in Fort Mill and we went to the Social Cork for wine and dinner. The wine selection is outstanding and very reasonably priced. The wine steward Demonstrated an exceptional knowledge of wines and I even learned some new things that night by chatting with her. My friend and I enjoyed our dinners. I highly recommend the stuffed mushrooms for starter and the Italian veggie panini was magnificent. All in all we had a great evening there and it was well worth it. I wasn't sure what I would find at this new little bar in Fort Mill, but I am so glad I checked it out! The atmosphere is wonderful. Very laid back but it doesn't have the old dingy coffee bar vibes. It touts its wine list but don't let that fool you. There is a variety of beer and liquors too. The menu is very varied. I enjoyed their deviled eggs and couldn't believe the scones and other surprises. Service is good with the attention paid to everyone that walked in. Prices are very reasonable and I was thrilled since I had two Mimosa's. My drinks were cold, sweet and with a wonderful blend of Champagne. The Manager is Valerie and you couldn't ask for a more upbeat, personable and knowledgeable person. I am definitely putting this place on my calendar to visit at least once a week for a quick drink.
