It's worth a visit or a try if you're in the area. The big positive of this place was the prices. $2.50 a beer and $10 for that sub. My tab was low so that's always a good thing. I would go back to this place however it might be tough sometimes if the bar gets pizza. In the plaza it sits next to a pizza place that I was told you can order the pizza from the bar and they have a window to slide the food through. I didn't try the pizza so I won't review that place. The food came out really fast and you could tell it came right out of the fryer because the french fries were super hot! This place is called a dive bar, and I guess it is - but on a Saturday afternoon, the place was filled with all kinds of people. On one side of us was a family with little kids. On the other side of us was a couple in their 20s. And then the rest of the place was filled with people from every age group. I have to say that the music they play there is fabulous! But back to the food. The burger was seasoned really well! It is a smash burger, but they're still able to make it crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Our server was really good. She did not hover, but she was around to see if you need anything. Depending on the vibe that you're looking for, if you want more of a bar vibe, you should go in the evening, but we were happy to just be in a relaxed little joint with good food. As far as racism is concerned, this is probably the most least racist bar I have ever been to. It doesn't matter if you're gay or black or Mexican or Chinese or Indian or purple or green or orange, the only time you're gonna get static from anyone is if you pick on the innocent or are not kind to animals. Good and bad bartenders come and go just like good and bad clientele but if you become a familiar face, you can build friendships that have a positive effect on you and people around you. I can bear witness to a lot of joy and acceptance of people for who they are. It can be called the dive bar, but I find that truly everyone is treated equal, So sit down, chill out, live love and laugh, and by the way, the bathrooms are very clean and everybody watches out for each other so don't be an asshole. You'll have a much better time.

The drinks are ridiculously cheap so if your only goal is to sit by yourself and get drunk on 10 bucks this is the place to do it in. There are naked girlie calendars on the wall, bras and underwear stapled to the roof and walls, the pool table a decent jukebox but I'm pretty sure you can catch some sort of disease from out of the restroom or the floor. So if you have a bunch of fellas that want to sit down grab a quick beer parking is easy drinks are cheap but you'll probably not find very many ladies here but that's okay. Give it a shot I have been in much worse.

The Capt was onboard from the laker. This changes everything, a floating bar for the lakers!!!! This was back in the day early 90's. Well. It was on. Sonny II aka the bum boat, used yo shuttle supplies to the lakers all along the harbor. And was a bar for the mens & ladies while alongside. A great seafaring tradition. Sonny B the sister ship is the water taxi up at PIB. Well for many years now at Ashtabula harbor the bum boat is tied up & open to the public fully licensed sit down bar. The owners are really nice. Live music, have a drink. Fairly large menu board too. I didn't know they had food tbh. It was great chili dog. As good & very similar to skyline. If u love shipping, history, music & dranks, and who doesn't in Ashtabula harbor, get ur arse down to the bum boat & have a blast. The prices are significantly lower than the surrounding businesses; they take pride in not price-gouging. The onion rings were legitimately delicious. They have many vegetarian and vegan options for fried veggies of all sorts and grilled cheese and veggie wraps. What made our experience phenomenal was the service. The bar manager was incredibly friendly and helpful. I asked her for area recommendations and she went so far as to pull out a magazine and circle her recommendations (including notes like "great pizza" and "go here then stop over there"). She was so kind that we're planning a trip back to Ashtabula only to heed her recommendations. The bar does not have a direct view of the lake.
