Congratulations, Brew Inn, you lost 6 regular customers today because of your bartender's less than poor customer service. I asked to put a football game on one of the TV's and she threw the remote at me and I had to find it. Why does no one know how to use the TVs there? Completely unacceptable. I finally found the game but I guess you don't pay your bills because you no longer have Sunday ticket. This place lets women get attacked by men. They have no bouncer and one bartender to run the entire bar. My friend and I were physically attacked by a man here Saturday November 4th. Not only were the men NOT kicked out when they got wasted and harassed the bartender they harassed us for hours before we had to flee once it got physical. Ladies stay away from this place. Chill little bar in GP! Nice deck to sit outside (but it was raining so we got some window seats). Really great food! My friend got a giant delicious looking burger and I stole some tater tots (delicious) and I had the Brew Inn Platter- kielbasa, pirogies and sour cream/onions/pickles. Super tasty! Wow, talk about gentrification. Bunch of Manhattan fat cats put some money into a soulless bar that doesn't have any identity. Its like a Murray Hill Bro bar furnished like a wanna be Marlow and Sons (with big screen tvs with your favorite sports channels!). I couldn't stop throwing up on myself. And than I tried some of the food. I think the people lied to me when these pretzel bites were made in house. Definitely more like bagel bite microwave garbage. Nobody could tell me where the meat or other products came from so I can only assume the kitchen is running on Sysco. You get what you pay for. The staff was nice, but everything about the place is so fake. 'The Brew Inn', really? Theres not many bars with a poorer name than that, it embodies how corny and uninspired this establishment is. Finally, an Applebees made elusively for Brooklyn. Im sure they will make lots of money, stripping the culture that so many proud people in Brooklyn took so long to make a name for. It does have a good burger and a few good beers, and the bartenders are friendly.... but the atmosphere just feels wrong. It does not feel like a place that is run by an obsessed craft beer person. I wouldn't really care its just that - it is advertised as such,... so it just feels a bit like a used-car salesman situation. Its kind of funny in a way. The bartenders are friendly, but they don't seem to be beer experts as you would expect at a place that purports to be a beer specialty bar. As another reviewer funnily mentioned - the beer tap door handles are really funny - Stella... That kind of gives it all away - this place wasn't opened by someone who knows much about beer. Again, its kind of funny. My main problem - The TVs SUCK. Really suck. Everyone sitting at the bar, listening to very questionable music, staring at giant muted TVs.. The people there were not really engaged with one another because it's hard to pry your eyes from a a TV screen (fact). The TVs are BIG, and they are right in front of you. Having a TV for sports can be OK, but I looked around and no one was there to watch TVs. And just having them on for no reason... It sucks. I used to love this bar, the service was great and the food was awesome BUT about 6+ months ago Jamie and Greg (bartenders/servers) left. My husband and I keep trying to like it but the new'er staff is horrible. It's rare if our order is right or if we get it at all. The last straw was a few weeks ago, we sat at the tables in the back and ordered drinks and food. 10min later the bartender asked us to move for a larger party, fine. 45min later we still don't have our food and the table we moved for is enjoying their burgers and wings. wtf? I went to the bartender and told her to cancel our order, she looked surprised to see me, I don't believe she ever put in our order. Now we only do takeout. read more

After a failed attempt of going to a different restaurant in the neighborhood (the other place was packed, with a half hour wait), my dad, sister and I found this place, where we all first enjoyed a glass of our favorite whiskeys on the rocks. My burger was juicy and spicy with Frank's Red Hot (which I can taste anyway! lol) with a side of kale, which I was teased for. We stopped in here after our day at pour the core to get some food and (more) drinks. We saw online that they had a burger and beer special so we decided to head here. It was a small cozy bar but it had no AC - did I mention it was almost 90 degrees out? So while we were melting in the barstools we were trying to flag down the bartender which was almost impossible. The first time she came over to us she said that they had no specials when online they said they did and she didn't seem to know what beer was on tap. When we asked her she pointed to the taps...ok thanks? Bartender had had a kind demeanor and offered me freshly made mulled wine as he knew I was freezing from this 20 degree weather. I love the digital menu screens. Great stop for some pub grub and beers. I ordered a half order of the spicy Thai wings (happy hour $3 for 7 wings) and the grilled chicken Caesar salad. Both were very good. Bartenders were both friendly and the patrons appeared to be mostly locals. It was a great stop after hitting a couple of the nearby breweries. What a great find! We used a livingsocial/groupon deal here on a Friday evening. There's were some great happy hour deals ($2 off tap beer, $10 for a pie and pint) and an extensive menu. The burger was excellent, and my husband is still racing about the shrimp po'boy. We sat at the bar and the bartender was really friendly and attentive. We gorged ourselves on food and drink. Jami Is a great bartender. This place is the tits. Great beer selection and fabulous tater tots to munch on. Big ass TVs show either whichever game is on or classics like Patrick Swayze's Road House. They have a great selection of craft beers and the service there is usually spot on. If Jenni is bartending, you're in for a good time. But the food menu is limited and the few things I've tried are pretty greasy. Also the layout of the whole place is odd and cluttered. If you go there when there aren't a lot of people there, then you're in good shape. Otherwise if it's crowded you're usually standing in an awkward place. Had a really crappy experience here the other day. We came around 4:00pm and there were maybe 10 other people being served by one bartender. The bartender didn't care about us for some reason and was very uninformed of The Brew Inn's specials. The only reason we came here was for their burger/happy hour specials and the TVs. When you don't even know your specials and your answer to the question, "what beers do you have on tap since we are on the side of the bar and couldn't see?" is a simple point to the taps, I wouldn't even entertain coming back here. read more

This is a pretty awesome bar overall. Super laid back. Friendly staff. Some nice taps. Great happy hour specials. Sweet little outdoor space when the weather is nice. A couple TVs for when big sporting events are showing. The burger is quite good--I would not say the best I've ever had like some other reviewers, but it definitely stands out. What a disappointment, I really want to like this bar. It's in my neighborhood, the food is decent, but the service is TERRIBLE. It's the worst. The people are friendly enough, but the staff needs to get their act together. Maybe hire one more person, hire someone more on the ball. Something. I'll be sitting there at my table waiting to be served. Or I'm waiting for my bill. or water, or a napkin.You get the point - I spend so much time waiting and waiting, it's really unpleasant. A few months ago when I was there they totally screwed up a charge on my credit card, and didn't apologize for the double charge. Not worth it, there's plenty of better bars in the neighborhood.
