I was highly disappointed. I went here for lunch while at work and the food wasn't even hot. I ordered the nachos and the queso wasn't melted even when the waitress brought me out some on the side later. My coworker's food wasn't hot as well and he ordered the jerk pasta. The salads were impressive, the dressings were all tasty and made in house. The Brickhouse pizza was delicious, the toppings were fresh, and the crust was light and tasted great. The inside was roomy and nice decor. A nice selection in beer, local, craft and macrobrews. Would definitely like to go back to try more items on the menu! read more

There are some great things about the Brick- they have cheap pizza by the slice, a full bar, and a great location downtown. People in my church small group raved about this place and it's very kid friendly. All of that to say, the Brick is not worth the hype. Time is absolutely not a priority to the wait staff, and the few times I've been to the Brick I've had to wait at least twenty minutes for easy appetizers. I've been to the Brick on busy Friday nights and empty middle weekdays in summer and always seem to have to wait too long for beer, or appetizers, or a server. The pizza is mediocre-- greasy, cheap. It's like somebody made it and had no pride in it at all. Of course, if I was drunk on a Saturday I might change my mind. The layout and vibe makes you feel right at home, and a simple outing for a quick bite can turn into a few hours of good conversations with good people. The food is good, it's not all out dining. As in any restaurant, servers come and go...some more quickly than others...and some just have a bad night (speaking from experience), so it is unfair to judge a place based on one bad server...I have had stellar service to moderately bad service is this place, but my food has always been good! I really wanted to like this place, and i think that I just hit them on a bad day. A co-worker recommended this place and suggested the calzone. So I order a calzone and a coffee with baileys... no baileys, or even a substitute. The calzone comes out and it looks amazing! The crust is a glistening golden brown, I cut into it and it was super light and flakey. It was pretty big so I cut it in half with the intentions and taking half to go. The meat inside is COLD to the touch, the cheese isn't even melted its shredded cheese out of a bag temperature. The waiter takes it back to the kitchen, brings it back in about 5 minutes.. the crust is now dry and borderline burnt. The cheese has melted out and was on the cooking surface so the bottom of the cheese is black, the bottom of the crust was black... and it tasted, you guessed it black. This place wasn't even busy, and it sucked. read more

Interior is nice and service was good. Pizza is almost totally devoid of flavor--drowned in thick cheese with almost no sauce and not even enough oregano. I thought about adding salt but a little Parmesan made it at least a little better. Salad was ok but house dressing tasted like vinegar and tomatoes without much else. I don't like to be negative but unless this was just a bad day I think they need a new cook. We were taking a leisurely trip home and on the spur of the moment decided to stop in Milledgeville. The Brick had good reviews so we thought it would be a good choice. We will never know. For health reasons I do not eat wheat. When I asked the hostess if they had a gluten free menu, she had to get a waitress. The waitress said "we use a lot of flour and we can't change pans"...I told her I didn't have celiac but it was a diet choice. She said "I guess you could have a salad". She was not rude but I would characterize her as dismissive. Bottom line...if you want or need a gluten free meal...don't pick the Brick. There are a lot of places I cannot eat but this place needs to have a more pleasant way of saying no. Even a lower end pizza chain like Papa Murphy's is trained WAY better. read more

Ate there with my out of town family during Labor Day weekend. It was the WORST food I've ever had anywhere. Filthy floors and tables, waited over an hour with 4 small children for burned, horrible pizza and a Greek salad that was essentially inedible. All stems. The Brick has the best calzones I've ever eaten and their pizza and fries rock. It's great for lunch, dinner, or weekend nights. It's mostly a college crowd, but you can find familys dining there throughout the week. It's hard to get a table on wing night or Friday or Saturday evenings though. Service was horrible! Waitress forgot to give us utensils as well as napkins. We continously had to wait on refills for our drinks When we did need something, the waitress would tell us she would get what we needed, and would immediately walk away to do something for another table, or go to the front to handle something else. We were there for over an hour, and our waitress only checked in once or twice while she was walking by. We waited for our check once we were done eating and received our to go boxes, we waited for a while, it never came. We eventually went to the front to pay. While we were leaving she apologized and said the restaurant was busy and they were understaffed (By the way, the restaurant was close to empty about 30 minutes before we left, so I'm unsure as to why we had poor service towards the end of our meal). Before leaving, we realized our waitress was the manager, which made it even worse. This place is not very vegetarian/vegan friendly. They didn't have many food options compared to other restaurants and I could make most of it at home. read more

I've lived here for a year now, the Brick is my favorite spot in Milledgeville...the staff is awesome from the time you walk in until the time you go home...from hosts, servers, bartenders, and managers. The beer selection makes it a worthwhile addition to the Milledgeville downtown area. In my opinion, the food is comparable with other restaurants. For whatever reason, this place is consistently crowded, despite being quite similar to other downtown joints. So, it might be better to check out one of the other bars during prime business hours.
