I was extremely disappointed with how The Brick at this store handled an issue with my mattress and box order that I purchased on line. I paid an extra fee for disposal because I didn't have time to remove my old mattress and box myself. The website gave no instruction that items needed to be bagged as shown in the attached screenshot. When the delivery team arrived, they refused to take them because they were not in disposal bags from the store--bags I was never told about. They left my old mattress and box standing upright against the wall, creating a clear safety hazard in my home. I had no choice but to let them leave and then contacted customer service. Somehow, I was connected to staff at The Brick store at 565 W Hunt Club Rd, Ottawa. The store staff told me the disposal fee would be refunded but that pickup could no longer be arranged. Instead of addressing the discrepancy between the website and the delivery team, she told me to "just google someone" to pick it up. Her tone was dismissive and unprofessional, and her comment was insulting. I called to solve one problem, but her behavior created a second problem. Later, my wife was told the disposal would be rescheduled and the delivery fee waived, but this still did not address the wasted time, the extra work of driving to the store to get disposal bags and wrapping the items myself, or the unprofessional conduct of the customer service agent--none of which matched the information on the website. I requested escalation. The store manager called me but said he couldn't address the customer service issue because the customer service manager was on vacation. He also said the store was not responsible for the discrepancy between the website information and the delivery team's instructions. There was no effort to take responsibility or provide a meaningful solution. Both the original service failure and the poor handling of the situation remain unresolved. I also tried using The Brick's online chat. They created a ticket and told me I would be contacted within 48 hours. It has now been well over 48 hours (including business hours), and no one has contacted me. I initially refused, but she offered to include the warranty for $105 instead of $305, saying she'd give me a $200 discount. However, when she printed the invoice, I noticed the $200 discount was applied to the sofa price, not the warranty. I pointed this out, as it would affect any future price match requests. She assured me it wouldn't be an issue, saying that their system records the original sofa price and that I'd still be eligible for a proper price match. Absolutely terrible customer service. I came in to look at a microwave. There was no floor model of the one I wanted to see, but they had one in the back. I was pressured into buying it. The whole situation seemed weird. They treated it like buying a car, sat me down at a sales desk. A manager had to sign off on it and everything. When I brought it home, I opened it and realized it was way to small, so I returned the next day to bring it back. No one helped me to bring it in. They told me because the box was opened, there was nothing they could do.. even though that was the only way to see the product. We purchased the Stratus 108" Fog Grey Chenille Couch with Power Sliding Chaise and pillows from the Windsor Store. We waited months for these to be delivered due to apparent transportation issues. After less than a month use, there was a giant sagging spot in the couch. We have a warranty, and called to have the couch repaired. The repair man apparently stated it is "normal wear and tear." I called home office and apparently they cannot do anything about it either. We spent thousands of dollars on these couches. They certainly don't hold up, and they don't stand behind their product. This 2nd purchase is the same. Excellent sales guy (Logan again) excellent delivery team, and I will definitely shop there again. Logan is exceptional. He really respected my budget, and wanted to make sure that I was satisfied with my purchase. He was very knowledgeable about the products that he was selling. I appreciated that. I ordered the new LG WashTower and the 4 year warranty. With HST that's well over 3k. I was not told that the current machines had to be disconnected for 24 hours prior to delivery. The delivery men (2 of them) told me I had to wait and then call back to have them return to finish the job. They told me they would leave the WashTower in my garage and then return to bring it upstairs. It took over a week of calling The Brick store, emailing the store location, calling The Brick Rep, emailing The Brick Rep, and finally got an answer. The Brick customer center (pressed 1 then 2) said that there isn't a note that they had to return and that the delivery men didn't note that they had to move the WashTower upstairs....How is that my problem, I am not in charge of your note taking? Was I supposed to argue as a female alone in my home with two male delivery men as to how they should do their job? seriously?? I trusted that you trained your delivery personnel to do their job and complete their paperwork efficiently and accurately, as they represent your company! Why would I want my washer/dryer in my garage when my laundry room is upstairs....The fact that there is a lack in your training and paperwork protocol is indicative of an internal problem not a customer problem. I had paid for the delivery of the new machine and removal of the old machines. Terrible, terrible experience!! I purchased a 3-seater couch, a loveseat, and a few other items from the Cyrville location. The items came with 6 throw pillows, but to my surprise, the pillows ripped completely at the seam in less than 3 months. I filed a complaint through the website, but I received no response. I decided to visit the store to complain in person, and that's when they informed me that my warranty claim had been declined despite having purchased an extended warranty. I never received an email about the decision. Not to forget that the 3-seater couch upon delivery came with a big hole at the bottom, I immediately reported it and I was offered a $50 compensation which I refused and I insisted on it to be fixed. The pillows were not sewn to perfection and they all look like rags right now. It's sad to spend over $3,000 to get something decent and the beauty of the product is short-lived. They would not take back a $1000 dollar bed frame where the legs broke off in the first week (made of particle bard with cheap veneer - I bought it online in store). The sales guy told me it was real wood, which was why it was so expensive. Anyways after 12 months the credit card company finally got reversed the transaction and the brick came and picked it up. December 18, 2023 we went in Hunt Club Brick to purchase a couch and dining room set for our new home. The sales person, Harveen, was polite and professional. Making sure as seniors that we were comfortable with the experience. We were so happy with her that we even bought a mattress for a spare room, occasional chair and pillows and mattress covers. We felt it was a good deal. We took home the occasional chair and bedding. Arranged for the couch and dining room table to be delivered to our new home and the mattress to our current residence. We asked if they assembled the purchase and take away the garbage from the dinning room set and couch. She assured us of course and even wrote on the bill of sale to set up and bring garbage back. For the mattress she did the same thing and asked them to take the old mattress. She said she would email us the bill of sale, which she did but it was just electronic and had no pen writing on it. We met the delivery truck at the new house. Two men brought the furniture in - not on a dolly or with stabilizing ropes attached to their bodies - dropping the furniture on the ground over and over because it was heavy. We then offered them food to have while setting up the furniture. They said they do not do that. Left and then put the garbage from the truck on the conjoined neighbour's driveway. Proof with picture. Needless to say they missed out on the fifty dollars tip we had for them. A few days later the delivery truck came back with the mattress to our current house. We had cleared the bed, older mattress at the front door and tip ready. They refused to take the old mattress and left the new mattress inside the front door. Tip again not given. Called Harveen for the second time about the delivery and said she could not understand. They did the same thing to a senior moving into a condo with her appliances. No door put on the fridge she said. Said she would tell her manager. So buyer beware. I think this is a scam. Get you to buy - give your poor delivery - but what can you do now that the furniture or whatever you buy now is in your home. One hundred and fifty dollars for delivery means delivery to the front door only. Don't bother to call the Brick. They have a customer service number but it does not work. Must send them a form from the internet. If you delve deeper into the web you will find in small print that they deliver and don't set up or take away the garbage. Such a terrible experience trying to get a sectional sofa (which we will no longer be getting). Purchased it in-store on June 23rd from the salesperson Ayham, had what seemed to be a great experience. I asked several times if it would be suitable for fitting into an older apartment building, and told by him many times not to worry, it would be fine and was made for condos. Delivery slated for end of September. Delivery got pushed out (which we expected), but had NO communication that it would be. The delivery day just came, and we had not been contacted with any update. When we spoke to Customer Care, they seemed bothered that we were even asking about it, and said it's our sales rep's job to keep us informed. Hadn't heard anything from him since we walked out of the store. (To layer onto their poorly managed system, somehow my phone number got put down for a delivery with The Brick out in Edmonton?) Fast forward, we finally got a call that delivery would be in November, and we confirmed Nov 2nd with Ayham on the phone. We then got a confirmation text and email saying it would be on Oct 30th....when I called him to inquire, he said the 2nd wasn't available so he moved it up (no call to explain why, or ask if that date worked). He seemed offended that I wasn't happy with the 30th and needed an alternate date. I was told "we can't book anything less than a week from the date" which was ridiculous because the date he "confirmed" Nov 2nd was Monday Oct 24th, a week and a half prior to the intended delivery. Thankfully, we got Nov 1st. I was told we'd get the time confirmation 24hrs prior; what actually happened was I got an automated call at 4:30pm yesterday saying delivery would be from 8am-11am. When you live in an apartment, getting an elevator on that short of notice, is not quite manageable. When the delivery team arrived today, they came up, took measurements, and as soon as they got to my apartment door I was told they could not complete the delivery, the sofa would be too large to get through the door/hall Flustered, I tried calling The Brick - no answer, they weren't open for another hour. So I called Ayham, who told me REPEATEDLY that if I need anything from him, to give him a call and he could help. Rather than getting the guidance/support I was looking for, he was rude, unhelpful, and treated me poorly. Probably the worst experience I've ever had. Said "well what am I supposed to do...it doesn't fit" with annoyance and condescending tone. I said "I'm looking for some guidance here, what are the next steps? What's the process when something like this happens?" which I got "so, you got the sofa, and it doesn't fit, what do you want me to do....". I said "is a return or refund something that is an option?" and he said "sure, if that's what you'd like to do". At this point I almost laughed and said "I'm sorry, but this is your customer service?" and he said "I'm not customer service, I'm sales". I couldn't believe what I was hearing. He continued with "this is my day off, I will deal with this when I'm working". So much for getting help from a major company. When I got off the phone, I went down to the delivery truck which was GONE. The delivery team had just left, didn't tell me they were leaving, no letting me know what the next steps are....gone. We will be seeking a refund and will never order from The Brick, and will be sharing with friends & family to avoid them as well. This was a disaster for months. Walked in and purchased $5k worth of items , a Stove (in the clearance area) 4 chairs for a kitchen table also from clearance, 3 bar stools from the floor display and a Sofa. Was told it would all arrive "tomorrow" as it was ALL in stock and due to exit (as it was clearance) accept the sofa which wasn't clearance but it too would arrive as it was a Christmas gift (this was Dec 5). The stove (most critical) was needed to cook Christmas eve turkey. When it didn't arrive and I didn't get a call, i drove back (as i live 500 yards from the place). I went to the customer support booth (as sales person wasn't in) only to find out nothing had been set to be delivered ... nothing. When I asked for a manager i got it resolved that at least the stove would arrive in 3 days (so we could eat) BUT the rest would be Jan 6. I explained this was unacceptable as it was Christmas gifts and not what i was promised nor what i paid $5k for service wise. BUT i left upset but at least we could eat and give out photos for Xmas. I got a call yesterday saying "good news' we can deliver your bar stools on Jan 6." i said that's not good news, that's a month late, and what about my sofa, .... she said , i dunno. I said LOOK, have the manager call me directly to explain what is going on here. Today i got a call from the sales person NOT the manager. The sales person had no idea why she was calling as she was simply told a customer she had made a sale too was upset. I explain who i was to remind her of the order and me and after a minute or 2 she recalled her $5k customer... and asked, "How are you enjoying the sofa". So i said look this whole deal has been a mess since i left the store. You took my $5k and i had to nag for product (from her floor) and got a 1/4 of it,,, then was told a false (late) date for the rest of it, then later told its clear when it would arrive. She said let me explain, i said NO, i am not interested in the history, WHEN is the sofa arriving... she repeated let me explain.. i said NO, JUST when is the sofa arriving... she said ... ahh, it says here... MARCH !!!!. I told her look i am done, have a manager call me and hung up. I tried to support local by doing this during covid and knowing full well that even at clearance price, i could beat the deals on Wayfare. BUT $5k is a deal i would prefer to spend local before Xmas. Terrible experience. Bought high end sofa from the Brick (Hunt Club/Merivale store). Within 3 months, cushion started to sag. I had purchased extended warranty but The Brick customer service informed me that sagging of cushions was not covered under the extended warranty I purchased. I was disappointed to hear this because it mentions in the warranty papers that cushion sagging was covered. I met with the store manager at Hunt Club branch and explained the issue. He agreed to send a tech second time to inspect the sofa. The tech reported that not only the cushions were problematic but the sofa frame was uneven and defective. The manager agreed to allow me to exchange the sofa. I chose a sofa of $2000 less in value than my original one. I requested the manager if I could get the balance refunded back on my visa. He said that he needed to get approval from the Regional manager for it. After about a week, I tried reaching the manager via phone and leaving messages and emails many times, however, he was not available. I visited the store again to ask him regarding the refund. He told me that the store policy was that no refund or store credit would be given and that I needed to buy sofa of equal or higher value. This is not acceptable to me at all? The Brick should have better policies around returns and refunds because as it stands, it is not fair to the customers. I should not be forced to make a purchase of equal or higher value just because the store does not want to return my money. If I liked a sofa of equal value, I would have purchased it, but there was none available. I am extremely disappointed with this whole experience and would not be buying anything from The Brick in the future. Do your homework before you decide to give your business to The Brick. In addition to the terribel original sofa purchase and return experience, the delivery men damaged my door frame when they brought the sofa into my home. They left the packing garbage (boxes, foam, and tape) in my living room and did not do a good job with assembling the sofa. Of course I signed the papers without fully inspecting their complete route from the truck to my living room. I wrote to the customer service about the damage and they said becuase I had signed the papers, they will not do anything to repair the door frame. The second replacement sofa which I purchased in exchange of the first one has issues with the support legs on both pieces. I am now dealing with customer service to get that fixed. They refused to deliver, forced me to come back, and they don't have a GD return policy. That's outrageous, what kind of store does this? Their staff were also awful. My 92 year old Mother bought a recliner chair at the Hunt Club Ottawa Brick store Aug 5 2021. When the chair was picked up and taken home we discovered that the power attachment was missing. As of Oct 25 and in spite of several requests they have not given her this attachment so she can not use her chair, we are very frustrated and advise no one to consider buying anything from this store. The power was working at the store but they gave her a non working chair on pickup. They have told us this is on order - since August! Not acceptable. Also my Mom was basically duped into buying an expensive 5 year warranty for the chair ( $135.00) and the store refuses to refund. She does not hear well and thought it was a mandatory charge! Disappointed time and time again. I came to pick up an order and it took over half an hour for someone to help. In the end, that item had missing parts to it so we had to go back and we were told that it would take a week or two to come in. This was for my head board so now I had to sleep on a mattress on the floor because of their mistake. After that we tried to make another order and it took an hour to buy it because we their system was down. Then we made the trip for another order and they sent us away because their system was still down. We are back another time, and they are now understaffed, no one is answering the doorbell for pick ups at the back, and we couldn't get our order for 1.5 hours because of waiting and because our order was improperly entered by the sales associate. Please please please do not buy from The Brick! Here's is my story. Read it til the end, it's long but worth it. On July 31st I ordered a desk from The Brick online. I paid for it right away and was told that it would be in stock and ready to pick up on Sept 16th. When it was ready my husband went and picked it up. The next day he attempted to assemble it and one of the major components needed to put it together was missing. He drove back to the store that we picked it up from, and instead of giving him a new desk, they told him that they would order the part and have it mailed to our house within 2 weeks. We waited, and waited and waited and waited for the part to arrive, and it never came. I kept calling the store and leaving messages. No one ever answered my calls, or returned any of my messages. Finally one day I was able to get through to someone. When I spoke to a manager and explained the situation she said I could return the desk. I asked if they could send a truck to pick it up as we didn't have a vehicle big enough to fit it in. They said they would charge be $40!! After arguing back and forth she agreed to give me a discount of $60. She assured me that the part would be received at my address by the end of November. By January of this year the part had still not arrived. I went into the store to complain and was told it was mailed out to me from the desk manufacturer on December 30th. By mid February it was still not received. I had to reach out to the brick on Facebook to get someone to call me back. When I finally got a call back the manager who called said that there was a delay and the manufacturer hadn't sent it yet, so they lied to me when they said it was mailed out in December. I told the manager I was done with their company and wanted to return the desk. Once again we had to borrow a vehicle from a friend and we took the desk in pieces back to the store. When my husband got there he spoke to the manager Mark. He explained the situation and Mark said he would do his best to make it up to us. His "best" was to offer us a 10% discount on a desk of our choosing!! It was an insult and a slap in the face after everything we had to deal with. Why does the brick sale product they don't know when they will have them in stock. I purchased a 65TU83000 Samsung curve with dinner table set on 08-sept 2021, and was told the items would be delivered on Saturday. I had no call from the office when they didn't, only to call on Monday to be told the TV is out of stock so they can only deliver the dinner table set. Getting to 2months, I am still waiting for the TV. read more

They worst customer experience from any retailer. Building a new house, bought 5 appliances and was told delivery would happen in December 2021. Then after continuous delays we have mixed product brands in our house. But the worst part if the blatant lies from Chad. He literally told us on a Tuesday evening he fridge would be delivered Thursday. Come Thursday nothing. Then, we were told the fridge would be delivered April 22. Well guess what, an automated message saying mid June came on June 21. I could go on but won't. Bottom line they will sell you anything and lie to your face. How can they (Chad) live with himself. Totally disgusted with the Brick. Bought a couch on Black Friday sale and it still has not arrived. They have said it will be delivered 3 times now ( they had no issue already charging my credit card for the couch) and I have taken 3 different dates off work and still no couch. The "manager" is awful and only offered a 4th delivery date ( who knows if it would even come) aswell as free delivery and $150 off the couch. Again I have already lost 3 days of work waiting for this couch which totals a lot more than the petty $150 and free delivery. I don't know what kind of scams the brick is running but beware buying online at the Brick. I will take to all social media to warn people so they don't have to go through what I have been through with the Brick. read more

In the past I have had horrific customer service from the Brick. Haven't purchased anything from there in over 2 decades. When I read that Leon's, who by the way have excellent customer service, purchased the Brick maybe things had changed. I was wrong! Same ol' same ol'. I purchased an item in February of this year and was told it would arrive at the end of April....two months!? I called on May 7th and was told to call back on May 14th, I called again and was told to call again on May 21st. Oh, and The Brick didn't hesitate to take the payment from my account. I'm fed up with such shoddy customer service and The Brick will not be getting a third chance from me, I'm done with them for good. Shit experience. Wanted to purchase a mattress on clearance.Their computers were messed and I had to go to an appointment . Salesman Omar said he would hold it for me. Came back to pay later that afternoon and he said he sold it to someone else. Slimey is the only word I can think of. Would not go back....ever. Can't be trusted. read more
