My husband's sandwich it was fried bologna with a fried egg
Melissa R.

The food was very tasty. It comes out in to go containers. The menu doesn't explain pricing very well each sandwich was $20 bucks not what we were looking to spend for lunch. Service was fast The tables are round tables with fold up chairs.

2lb chopped Italian/greek

I've always wanted a good sandwich shop in Homewood, especially West Homewood where there's parking.

My first visit there was a…read morelong line to order but this time it was even longer and several people left because of the wait time. My heat level tolerance is not what it used to be. I have tried a Mild & Medium. I think I could tolerate the Hot but that would still be a reach. Their mild is what many others would consider medium. I noticed the last visit that Lite Mild was an option in addition to the No Spice. Because of the wait, I ended up taking mine to go on the most recent visit even though I originally intended to dine in. Even to go the food was excellent! Despite how busy they were the staff remained pleasant and provided a great experience. I love the decor both inside and out. The music is a little on the loud side and could make conversation difficult if you have a larger group dining in. Maybe try the patio seating area instead. I wish it was closer to home, I would probably visit more often.

They were pretty busy and he still took his time to make sure every customer was taken great care of. The first thing I noticed about the menu was the prices seemed a little high. However, the portions are much larger than I imagined! We loved the frozen juices. I can definitely see why they are enjoyable after we tried the chicken. I wasn't the biggest fan of the actual chicken tender which I got in no flavor. But the slider that I got in lite mild was good with extra pickles and Dave's sauce! My boyfriend got the hot and as someone who enjoys spice, wasn't too happy with the actual seasoning on the chicken. I'm glad I tried it and maybe if someone suggested it I would try it again. But definitely not my first choice!

I've been to Birmingham a few times and never explored their local food options and decided to…read morechange that. Eugene's has really good reviews so I made this my first stop. And good thing I did! I looked at the menu and honestly wanted to order everything cause it all sounds good. I don't eat much so I went with the two piece chicken tenders kids meal. The lady who took my order said they have a regular chicken tenders meal but I said I wanted the kids meal cause I don't eat a lot. She then said "It's the same amount of food." which, ok cool, but I don't think that should be said cause they can lose out on money. Just my opinion. And FYI, I very often get kids meals cause I really don't eat a lot. Not trying to save money or anything. The meal came with two chicken tenders, sauce, fries and a drink. Fries were good. Nothing to complain about. Those tenders tho.....YUM!!! So much flavor. And the ranch I got with it....yes! Not sure when I'll be in Birmingham again but I will 100% go back and try other items!

A huge disappointment…read more I'd always imagined that fried chicken in the South was better than fried chicken in Omaha. Wrong! The fried chicken at Tracks and Surfside Club is way better than at Eugene's. The cole slaw is also better. My girlfriend is a native of Alabama and she was no fan either. She thought her chicken was tough. I got two different styles of beer and they were tasteless. I might as well ordered a Bud Light. And, of course, the music was way too loud.

All of the food here is good, but especially the fresh squeezed orange juice, the bacon, the biscuits, and the jellies, jams, and sauces. You can't go wrong with anything at this place. It is just consistent and trustworthy every single time I go there. The last three times I have been to this location, the service and the staff, from the hostess to the bartender to the server at my table to the manager coming by to check on us, were all incredible. Pro tip...I can't remember the name of it, but that homemade jalapeño hot sauce is divine. It goes good on almost anything savory, especially egg dishes and biscuits. I'm sure I will be back soon!

The restaurant is bright and has modern light fixtures. I really enjoyed the music! I'm an 80s baby & heard many of the songs that were popular when I was in grade school.
