Uncle Philly Low Carb Pizza Smoked Gouda Burger Cinnamon Roll Waffle Apple Cinnamon Waffle

I have been waiting for this keto/low carb restaurant to open for quite awhile. I'm excited that it is now open and close to me. The grand opening was on Saturday, July 11, 2020. I tried the restaurant today (08/01/20) with my family of 4. I pray that Anthony Clemons is very successful and God blesses him to be able franchise this business. We ordered 4 items. We wanted to try the brownies as well but they were out. Uncle Philly Low Carb Pizza $19.99 Smoked Gouda Burger $8.59 Cinnamon Roll Waffle $12.49 Apple Cinnamon Waffle $12.49 ALL 4 ITEMS WERE 5 stars with respect to quality and taste!!!!! Bell Peppers truly serves up low carb comfort food! One area they can improve on is with respect to wait time. We placed our to-go order at 12:20 p.m. and it was ready at 2:30 p.m. They have only been open 21 days and still working out the kinks which is understandable. Give them some encouragement and grace. I think by day 100 they will have worked out all the major/significant kinks and be a well oiled machine. Bell Peppers has a bright future! Get you some shades Ant!

Highly recommend Bell Peppers. My sandwich was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. The fries were crispy, well seasoned and the perfect sized portion. Anthony, the owner, was super friendly. If you want freshly cooked food packed with flavor, try Bell Peppers!

Bell Peppers just opened this past weekend and of course it has been packed every since. I attempted to eat here twice this week but was unable due to the crowd. Today there was a 3hr wait for pizza and 2 hr wait for burgers. They do not take call in orders at this time. It's good to see this business starting out so well. I will attempt to try this place again.

The honey garlic chicken sandwich was delicious. The food is cook to order. They have a overwhelming menu. I didn't know what to choose from. I'm definitely will be back to try other items in the menu.

Wanted to try this place since they had a buzz when first opened. Came to try the pizza, but the oven was down. He said we could get it prepared and bake it at home. We opted to try something else instead. Turkey polish sausage was good but small for the price. Salad was a salad. Nothin special. I will update my review when I actually get to try the pizza.

I have been waiting to try to place since it opened in early July. Big crowds and long wait times kept me away until now. I went on a Friday afternoon around 3pm and the restaurant was empty. I was literally the only customer there. Two other customers came later. My guess is they had just finished the lunch crowd. I decided to order several things from the menu. I ordered the smoked Gouda burger, Cloud 9 pizza, cinnamon roll waffle, and 2 low carb brownies. I ordered the keto/gluten free bun with my burger, which had a $2.49 upcharge. The service was good. The food is made to order so I waited about 25 minutes or so for it to be prepared. Everything was hot when I received it. The burger and toppings were good. I didn't love the texture or taste of the keto bun. But, the restaurant also offers a bun that has 15 carbs. It might be better. The same is true for the pizza. The toppings were good, but I wasn't crazy about the texture and taste of the crust. I think it's something you have to get use to if you are on a low carb diet. The cinnamon roll waffle was sweet and very tasty. It was more of a dessert for me. I did notice an aftertaste, but I still enjoyed it. Lastly, the brownies were okay. It's a nice low carb substitute if you're craving a brownie. Overall, my experience was good. I'm glad I tried it. It's a little pricey for what you get but definitely worth a try. Especially, if you eat low carb.

So far so good walked right in to a warm reception, staff knowledgeable about the menu and the non meat eater options. Resturant was clean kitchen was clean. Also more information to come when the food hit the table.

Hamburger buns to take home. A small piece of the menu about who they are and my savory delicious keto steak egg and cheese biscuit

Nothing too fancy, just hop in line, tell them what you'll have and they plate it up and bring your drink to you at the table. Everything looked pretty good. Meatloaf, grilled chicken, some greens, potatoes, mac and cheese, etc. I went with the country fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy with mac and cheese. It was the middle of lunchtime to everything was hot and fresh, and the white gravy was really good. They didn't have many desserts, just slices of cake by the register and by the time I saw those I was full and it was too late to make the bad decision to stuff myself with dessert. The people were friendly, the place was clean and tidy and the food was served in large portions especially given the price. If you're hungry and near this part of town, don't think twice. Head in and they'll hook you up with some gravy covered goodness and they'll do it for around 10 bucks. Not bad at all.

I ordered the pork chop and Mac and cheese, and I ordered the T-bone steak with a salad and baked potato. The baked potato came with butter and sour cream. (I had to take cheese from my salad for the potato.) The steak was WAY over cooked for my liking. It was smaller, on the thinner side. A bit under seasoned but still the taste wasn't bad. The baked potato was cooked very nicely however. The salad portion was fair as well. The pork chop was HUGE. A bit salty but pretty good. I wish I knew it was breaded before I bought it though. Mac and cheese was fine. My complaint comes with door dash. They need to broaden the menu options. I was not able to choose my sides. I was not able to choose my toppings. (And I'm prediabetic so I try to order lower carbs-- was not going to order the baked potato but they gave me no choice. I wanted the greens.) The menu was fairly simple. I wish I didn't get onions in my salad but I couldn't choose what I wanted. Pros: it arrived quickly and was hot. Will probably try again for hopefully and updated review.

I asked for the steak to be medium rare, when I received the steak it was cooked beyond measure and was so hard to chew. Everyone in my house tried a piece and we were chewing forever lol. My second time trying it, I thought I'd give the pork chop meal with Mac-n-cheese a try. You can't go wrong on some pork chops and Mac at a soul food restaurant, right? WRONG! The pork chops were cooked well but the Mac-n-cheese was so gross, I didn't know whether to vomit or cry. It stunk like the powdered cheese that used to come in the Kraft Mac boxes back in the 90s. It was watery and had been boiled, not baked. It was the equivalent of Mac from KFC or Popeyes with lumps of cheese all throughout. I was soooooo damn disappointed.

It's kind of hard to tell what all the food options are, so I had to ask what some stuff was. I managed to get a meat and 2 instead of a meat and 5! There were quite a few veggie options that looked amazingly delicious! I do not recommend coming here hungry or hangry. Ok, sooo I love meat loaf so naturally that's what I got. I also got collards and cornbread dressing & yes they had cranberry sauce. Everything was good tasting. The meatloaf was a little sweet to my taste so I probably wouldn't order it again. The veggies were not over seasoned or overcooked. I will definitely comeback here bc there is still just so much I wanna try. The staff is nice and took care of the crowd. I even witnessed them give a person in need food, as they were about to dig in the restaurant's garbage can outside for scraps. Made me count my blessings.. all of them! There is street parking only. Only about 3 people at a time can hold inside before it's starts getting crowded. It stay pretty busy. Options are 1 meat with two sides or 2 meats with three sides combination. A la cart is available as well. They have ice tea or lemonade drinks in a cup that they also serve you. Lemonade was good. There's a very small counter to pay after you order. Fry chicken is tasty with perfect crisp. Collard greens were seasoned well and perfect texture. Yams (my favorite) was perfect - flavorful, not too sweet and firm but not hard. Both of us thought the Black eyed peas looked really good but taste bland. I would have preferred it without the Okra. I didn't see that when I ordered. One in our group commented the meat loaf was good. The dressing was really good too - well seasoned and tasty. After paying there's a dining area for self seating. It serves the purpose to sit and eat but definitely could use sprucing up along with the restrooms. Please seriously consider! It would make the experience much more pleasant to enjoy their delicious food. I took off two stars for that reason and yes it's that unpleasant as the tables/chairs are also too clustered together. The chairs don't fit around the table properly. Overall good southern food at a reasonable price and recommended. Skip dining in if you don't have too. Just my two cents.

We arrived fairly early, shortly after opening, but the place was already bustling and the hot bar was full of yummy-looking and smelling food. It has a pleasant, sort of old-timey feel, which makes sense given it's been open since the 70s. This is a "Greek and three," fairly common in Bham, so they offer country cooking favorites like fried chicken in addition to Greek foods like souvlaki. You order as you move through the line in front of the hot bar. The food is protected from guests by glass so it doesn't feel as icky as a buffet does (to me, at least). The folks working the hot bar were pleasant and working diligently. There was one waitress who was suuuuper bossy and a little short with me (she really didn't want me to stand still and look at a paper menu, apparently), but she eventually warmed to us after my dad chatted her up while she was getting our drinks. I ordered fried chicken with yams and fried okra. My mom also got fried chicken, hers with mashed potatoes and cabbage. My dad tried the baked Greek chicken with green beans and macaroni and cheese. I snagged a roll and a sweet tea to drink. The tea was refreshing and not overly sweet. The food was overwhelmingly quite solid. My fried chicken breast wasn't ready when I ordered it so I had to wait a while for it to be prepared, but on the bright side it arrived piping hot and super crispy. It was great fried chicken, clearly brined and flavorful throughout, not just on the crunchy batter. The yams were nicely spiced and not overly soft. The fried okra was a delight as well, crispy and plentiful. The roll was average, but nbd. My parents were also quite happy with their meals. My mom RAVED about the cabbage and ate all her mashed potatoes and gravy. The macaroni and cheese was outstanding (I wish I'd gotten three sides and it been my third). The Greek chicken was succulent and light. The only so-so item was the green beans, and even those were decent. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Birmingham! One of the better meat and twos/threes I've had in a while.
