We stop here every time we're in Wallace. Charming spot with great food. Service can be a little slow sometimes, so plan to give yourself time. But the staff are always friendly and happy. We like to modify the Veggie Bowl to make it vegan-friendly by subbing egg and cheese for extra avocado. Great spot! read more

We stopped in historic Wallace to walk through the town, we checked out a number of different restaurant menus and decided to stop here. We are glad we did. One had strawberry-Spinach salad. One had biscuits and gravy, one had a huckleberry pancake with a side of bacon, and I had a veggie breakfast bowl. All of the meals were outstanding. The biscuits and gravy were some of the best they had eaten. The Huckleberry pancake was huge. The bacon was tasty. My veggie breakfast bowl was yummy. No complaints from anyone. It was an okay experience overall. I ordered the grilled turkey bacon avocado sandwich, and it was just average--I didn't finish the second half. It felt a bit soggy and seemed like it was missing a sauce or something to bring it together. Someone in our group had the Miner's Burger and mentioned the bottom bun was completely soggy. The kids had chicken tenders, which were very small--more appropriate for a toddler than older kids--and they were still hungry afterward. The tenders themselves weren't anything great either. What a great breakfast place. Husband had the Brooks bowl which he liked very much. I couldn't resist trying the Huckleberry pancake breakfast with eggs and excellent bacon. Good thing I ordered just one pancake instead of two because it was huge. It was stuffed with huckleberries and accompanied with huckleberry sauce and huckleberry butter with optional regular syrup. I am a pancake officionado and this was excellent! One of my pet peeves is sweet batter -- unnecessary. This was not sweet and the tart huckleberries with a bit of syrup was just right. read more

It's loaded with eggs, bacon, sausage, gravy, avocado, onions and cheese. My boyfriend and I split the bowl, and we still couldn't finish it. The portion is huge. Craving something on the sweeter side? The huckleberry pancakes with huckleberry sauce and huckleberry syrup are another favorite. Again, portions are huge, so one pancake is plenty, but if you're extra hungry go for the stack. Food aside, the service is wonderful and the decor is beautiful. Oof. Stayed at the Brooks Hotel and picked up breakfast here. The coffee is extremely weak. The cinnamon roll has the texture of microwaved white bread. The fried eggs are over cooked on the edges and undercooked in the middle. Which is exactly what happens when your grill is too hot and try to cook eggs too quickly. And the "avocado toast" is a horror show. If you have to eat here, stick to the huckleberry pancakes and tap water. You won't be disappointed with those. read more

Ambiance : Nice space... desperately needs some soft music! Food: Good, but nothing to write home about. Service: Odd! Stood there... no one greeted us. After a bit we were directed to table. Sat there forever with no coffee even though she asked if we wanted coffee. Breakfast arrived - she NEVER came back to check in. She never brought more coffee... and the bill wasn't delivered. I took our cups to the counter, as we were desperate for more coffee, and asked someone behind the counter if we could have a fill up... he said he didn't know how...?!?? and went to get someone who did ... good gravy! Had breakfast there yesterday, ridiculously good food. Yes - the location is old school and perhaps the carpet should at some point get replaced. But if you are in Wallace - that's the idea, the whole of downtown is old but has a vibe that is updated and lively. Super kind interactions with everyone on staff that was hustling and helpful. Massive miner's breakfast - biscuits and gravy, 3 eggs, hash browns (more gravy!), bunch o' bacon. Good thing the skiing was great to keep the blood lines open.
