This was a pretty good skillet but I have had better. I wish the Canadian bacon and potatoes had been cooked more before being added to the skillet. The potatoes were kind of bland, potatoes have the potential to be GREAT and these weren't. The portion was huge, can't complain about that. First time at Buff Restaurant. Came with a group of 3 people and yelp had the wait time so I was able to see if we needed to get wait listed or how long the wait was in general. Came up to the hostess stand and I noticed they were constantly cleaning their menus which was nice to see. All the tables were socially distant as well and had outdoor seating options too. For drinks, we had a Cafe Au Lait (not too strong/added sugar for sweetness), Vanilla Latte (came in a gigantic mason jar, probably the size of 2 hands) and a mimosa (complimentary with yelp check-in). If you wanted more mimosa it was just .99/mimosa. Pretty good deal. For entree, I got the Chorizo Breakfast Tacos & a single Chocolate Chip Pancake. Super filling and delicious. The salsa that came with the breakfast tacos was really flavorful too and just a hint of spice. They have plenty of parking spaces in the lot. Restrooms-I personally have never seen this, but at the bottom of the door they have something where you can just use your shoe to prop open the door, so you don't have to open it with your hands. Went to this place for the first time yesterday with some family visiting from out of town. They have a ton of outdoor seating and are taking precautions for COVID-19. I got their iced tweet which came in a massacre jar (I was very happy) and it was unsweetened, which I love. I also got their vegan skillet which was really good but was also very bland and could have used some seasoning. My uncle specifically requested VERY crispy bacon to our waitress (lol) and she made sure it came out perfect! He was very happy and asked me to mention it in my review. Coffee: standard, BUT I want to point out the choice of creamers which included, whole milk, 2%, lowfat, and oat! Blessings to this company for the variety. Food: Apologies on the lack of photos, but my entire family dug in before I could. I did take a pic of my food and my husbands (since he knows I do this reviewing) 1. Chicken and French Toast: sort of like the take on chicken and waffles, but with french toast. I appreciate that this french toast is gluten free and I personally am NOT gluten free, but still A+. Icing on the cake was the side of real syrup. I liked that I didn't even have to request it on the side. Downfall, the chicken was lacking flavor, but all together the dish was like an 8/10. I sprinkled some salt and pepper on the chicken. 2. Chimmi Pollo: This is a breakfast burrito and normally it is deep fried. My husband opted out of the deep fry (picture provided). It gives the option to be topped with pork green chili or queso and my husband chose queso. It comes with rice, beans, potatoes, salsa, chilies, and more! It is a jam packed breakfast. 3. Oatmeal: minus the option of side for milk. The oatmeal for my sister was good, not great. Standard but filling breakfast. Overall the Buff understands what it means to "Brunch". I love this business and loved the new outdoor seating. Also RECORD time in getting our food delivered. For how busy this place can get, the food literally came out 10-12 mins after we placed it, no joke. Our server was amazing and we loved the personalized "Buff" masks the entire crew was wearing. The Lemon Pecan pancakes were so fluffy, they almost tasted like I was eating actual cake. They were especially good when we got a little lemon zest in the bite!! The skillets were also so full of Yumm!! I am not a big chorizo fan but the Ole seemed delicious. Still our favorite. I hate the location (so sterile) but it's great inside. Booths and tables to pick from. Slow day today and the food was exceptional-- eggs, pancakes, potatoes, bacon. Here goes my first review of hopefully many on this journey called life. I've been an avid Yelper for probably 3-4 years now and could never find the energy after a meal to write a review, good or bad. After constant peppering from friends and family due to my critical nature of restaurants - I am finally going to start. The Buff Restaurant was one of the best dining experiences in recent memory. My small group was originally seated in a spot that was getting too much sun. I asked the hostess to switch seats which was accommodated without issue. The server I had was great, the menu is so extensive I leaned on him to direct me to some great options. I went with the Chimmi Pollo and it looked to good to wait and take a picture. The meal was a huge portion with every ingredient tasting fresher than the last. The tortilla and queso I had were some of the best I've ever had. Beans, sour cream, breakfast potatoes, and fajita chicken all tasted so well. When I think about the service, the atmosphere, and the food this is a clear cut 5 star restaurant. We met family here for breakfast. We live out of state and we're visiting. They suggested meeting here. We arrived and were immediately shown to the table. There were 9 of us and it was no problem. Someone in the group had called ahead to give them a heads up and they said that was no problem! Menus and water arrived quickly. The menu is extensive! Great variety.. The waitress was helpful in answering questions and made some great suggestions for the food. Orders for food was quick and easy. They have an expresso bar, I ordered a spicy chai latte and it was delicious! They were definitely a local favorite as it was packed in the restaurant. That made it a bit noisy for visiting but we managed. Food arrived pretty quick and was good and hot! Portions are huge! Everyone enjoyed what they ordered and we all shared as well. This place seems like a Boulder institution, and for good reason. We showed up on a game day because we are Dumbs. I was amazed at how quickly and efficiently the staff whipped through the wait list! They obviously have a system in place and it's working. We ended up snagging a spot at the bar before our name was called. The server there was one of the best I've ever had. She was cute, quirky, efficient, and friendly. She made great conversation with folks while also quickly clearing out the bar seats for fresh customers. Best service I've had in Colorado. I was never left staring at my empty coffee cup with that "that may have been my last fill" anxiety that I get at so many other places. The food was fantastic. I LOVED that you could sub bacon for the usual carby sides that come with breakfast (toast, potatoes, etc). Most places will just charge you $4 for bacon, not give you the toast and potatoes, and call it a day. NOT HERE! This was so refreshing. I wish more places would do this. Decent flavor but very tough to get into. The French toast was rather brittle and the bacon was tough. It looked great but it broke apart easily and didn't have much for flavor. Super appreciated that 32 oz. iced coffee they serve you, even if it's not advised to operate a vehicle afterward. I got a skillet with over-medium eggs and they definitely came out hard-boiled. The waitress noticed and had them send out another batch which were super runny (bleh!) but I had given up at that point and just ate it that way. My husband got some type of Mexican skillet and it was so saucy and cheesy and mine paled in comparison, so I feel like I was partly to blame for the mixed experience.
