This amazing employee, Beth Volzone, found the check and went above and beyond to track me down to return the check. She searched for me on Facebook and Next Door. No luck. She even called the bank. Again, no luck. So, she locked the check in their safe until she could locate me. Finally, she located the person who wrote me the check by searching ND for her name. They sell vintage style metal signs, some auto supplies, and red neck hats. The shops owner's daughter runs an animal rescue, and she will bring in a different dog every day, in hopes that it will be adopted by a kind customer. I am familiar with Ace service and products as a customer and previous employee. I have used Ace…read moreproducts and paint before and usually receive great service at Ace Hardware stores. So far I spent hundreds of dollars with much more to do. Unfortunately the service is poor at Dekalb Ace Hardware and not what you would expect from Ace Hardware. They do not use rewards like they should. Also, I asked to have a Minwax oil stain shaken and the sales woman said it would put bubbles in it, I said it would be fine as it settles and otherwise too difficult to mix by hand. She asked another woman possibly manager and she then refused to shake it. I was stunned at the lack of courtesy and said I would go somewhere else then. She then ran out to my car and said she would call the police! that's right! call the police! if I didn't purchase the paint in the shaker!! I regret that I went in and bought the gallon of paint. OMG I have never been treated so poorly at Ace! I will not shop here again unless I have an urge to be abused. I went to Walmart and bought the primer less expensive and the stain which they happily shook for me. Maybe they should learn service skills from Walmart.
