We arrived at around 6:30 and the place was pretty much packed. (It's a much, much smaller joint than I would've thought.) We did manage to snag a sweet table by the window, but then we were informed that an acoustic musician would be setting up shop right behind us at 7:00. I figured we probably wouldn't last too long once he started performing, so we decided to just share an order of the Sausage Rolls ("honey mustard sauce"). They arrived to the table impressively fast and sure looked great. They tasted great, too. I might even go so far as to say they're among the best Sausage Rolls I've ever eaten. The sausage is really tasty and flavorful, while the pastry around them is just as good. The zesty honey mustard perfectly complements them, too. I really enjoyed my brief visit to the Henry VIII Ale House, and I look forward to returning at some point in the future.

And judging by the fact that it was packed with people waiting for tables, we weren't the only ones who thought so. There was a woman eating wings at the end of the bar ... they looked good! They're perfectly fried and enhanced by a really tasty (and spicy) dipping sauce. I also want to single out the ambience and the service, both of which were tremendously appealing. It's a small, dark bar, which I love, and my server was helpful without being intrusive. I really don't know why it took me so long to check out Kanu. It's a really cool little place and I'm looking forward to stopping by on a regular basis in the future.
