Once sat, I ordered the deep eddy's sweet tea/lemonade, some cheese bombs, and the i c o n i c mushroom Swiss burger with a side of Mac and was thoroughly impressed. Woody's usually never misses (from the time when I lived down here full time) but they were on their p's and q's this go round. Server (her name is Candace, spelling might be wrong but holy crap ask for her!) was fab, bartenders SlappedXSquared and although the place was busy, I was attended to promptly, could hear myself think (the vibe was chill even though it was busy), and had phenomenal service. We beat the Sunday church crowd by about 30 minutes. I decided to try the "Nola" burger (listed as the same blend I had at other locations) topped with blackened shrimp and creamy sauce. I ordered my burger medium well. I usually go with medium, but this being a beef and sausage blend patty, I like it over 150 internal. My burger came to the table RARE at best. Took one bite and immediately saw red...in the patty. To their credit, they re-fired and served me a well done burger pretty quick. The patty was all beef and not a touch of seasoning or salt. The cream sauce was a savior, it was nice and flavorful though partly broken. It did not make up for this (now) overdone and flavorless burger patty. The shrimp were fantastic, especially dipped in this Cajun cream sauce. Then I paid witness to something I have never encountered. The hosts tried to seat a party with a person in a wheelchair, in an end booth. Obviously, they immediately protested and had to explain why they couldn't be seated in a booth. They were quickly moved to a table...but this just shook me on how either untrained or uneducated folks can be when it comes to disabled. Shake it off, back to the review. The fries were delicious and hot, just like the ones at the other locations. I think maybe they make their own ranch dressing, it was killer with my piping hot and crispy fries. The Bloody Mary was OK, glass rim was seasoned but spilled all over the napkin upon arrival. Service was friendly and adequate but otherwise unimpressive, had to call server over for the burger issue. If I had not have had such a flavorful burger at the other location, I probably would not have been as disappointed with this one. May give another try at this location, but will probably defer to the other location given the choice.

Now that they have expanded at this location, it seems like it's gone downhill. The smaller locations have always been better. The burnt ends I had at the smaller location were tender, fresh, and plentiful, the last few times I've come to this new LARGE location, the first time they were out of burnt ends, second time they were dry and crumbly - like they been left under a heat lamp for 2 days. Potato salad, house salad, and fries are good. Collards are hit or miss. You can't tell they're even open, both times we've been we are the ONLY customers. The whole staff is so bored. They're pretty friendly considering they only have to tend to one or two people at a time. The open signs never on and the windows are dark so they look closed. I do enjoy the drinks, atmosphere, and good bbq but since this new spot has opened they've really gone downhill. I'm not sure I'll be back to this location if I ever decide to return - it's really a bummer. It would be different if the sauce was good. It was just a mess. Awkward old layout, not a comfortable lunch either. Nice people working there though. Just not a place for me and the wife.
