Pay close attention to their hours as they are only open until 3pm early in the week, then open full the rest of the week (can't remember the exact schedule, but we were there Wednesday and the closed at 3). This was not our first trip to Lil Ray's, nor will it be our last. The decor is simple and comfortable, there is nothing "fancy" about the place, and it is EXACTLY what people mean when they say "I want local". The wait staff is exceptionally courteous and attentive; every trip! They are welcoming to everyone including a random person who came in and asked an off-the-wall set of questions. The food is incredible. I had the crabby jack poboy which is a poboy with two crab cakes, pepper jack cheese, grilled onions, and added mayo and lettuce. Phenomenal poboy! Their onion rings (recommended) are absolutely perfect! Lightly breaded, great flavor. My wife had the crab cake plate with broccoli and carrots. She loved it as well. We've had the roast beef poboy, fried chicken salad, shrimp, and several other items over the years and all have been top notch; I'm only now taking time to leave reviews. So if you're looking for a great spot for lunch, and you find yourself near Gulfport High School for athletics or any other reason, this is a perfect spot for a great meal.
