It's a gem in Coloma! It truly has the Up Nort cabin feel with the knotty pine walls. The food is very good with a wide variety. I had the Pizza Burger. Fresh bun, well made marinara sauce, plenty of cheese, and a real nice sausage patty. The service was great and welcoming. Whenever we drive down Hwy 21, we will stop. read more

The Cabin is clearly the beating heart of Coloma village. We rented an airbnb in the area and stopped by for a quick bite. Nothing special but if like us, you are into mixing with the locals and absorbing authentic rural Wisconsin vibe, then look no further! Our grandkids were able to experience a real Wisconsin small town dive... Really decent burgers. The best tarter sauce around ... salad was ice berg expected.... The fish was over fried. A couple of locals talked this place up. Eh, it was OK. Cheese curd appetizer tasted frost-bitten, burger was solid but not paradigm-shifting, server was borderline surly, country music was BLASTING out the speakers despite there being maybe 10 patrons in the place... and deduct another star for being CASH ONLY. I have no patience for "cash only" in an era when electronic payment options are numerous for both business and customer alike, especially in a resort area -- though to be fair, this place looks to have more of a "local" clientele than "tourist" clientele. I was born and raised in WI and live in a small town where I frequent a local dive where all the bartenders know me by name. So I get townie bar culture. But just because you're a townie bar catering to your regulars doesn't excuse treating unfamiliar faces with a mix of indifference and annoyance. The female bartender (60ish?) was simply rude. Walked in to dirty looks, sat at a hightop in the bar area. I walked up to the bar to get a menu, order a drink, and place a food order...really went out of my way to not make her work or pull her away from her friends, but just got dirty looks and attitude. No decent beers on tap and only one (Spotted Cow) available in a bottle. Ordered the 1/2 lb jalapeño cheeseburger. It could have used salt, but was well-cooked and overall pretty decent, earning them a 2nd star. If you're from out-of-town and are just looking for a place to eat or grab a drink, look elsewhere. read more

Stopped by on Saturday night with my dad for dinner. It was Halloween so it may have been a little busier at the bar than usual. When we arrived we were the only the two that weren't at the bar. We headed to a table in the dining area and patiently waited for our menus. As I have mentioned in another review, the bartender was also the server. One would think that on a Saturday night they would have at least two people working the bar....nope. It really seemed like most of the bartender's attention was on the drunk locals at the bar in their costumes. We had to wait nearly 5 minutes to get menus (which is much less time than the table that came in after us, they had to actually go to the bar to get drinks and let the server/bartender know they were there). I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak with fries and an order of onion rings. My Dad ordered the 1/2 # cheeseburger with fries and a cup of chili. I ordered the onion rings after my Dad ordered the chili thinking that I would have something to munch on when he got his chili. Nope. Everything came out all at once. No real complaints about the food, it's actually really good. If this review were based just on the food it would have gotten 4 stars. But the service is really bad. I think the owner really needs to re-think just having one person working on a weekend night. It really drags the whole experience down. If the food wasn't as good as it was, I wouldn't be back. read more

We stopped here for lunch while snowmobiling on Saturday. It is a nice clean place the wait staff was pleasant and attentive. I had a cheeseburger and it was delicious the special was mashed potatoes and turkey it needed a little more gravy ( the comment from my fellow rider) will def come here again we did not sit at the bar area we were in the dining area plenty of room important to note they only take cash! read more

Stopped here a few times before and loved it. Was very disappointed this time. The waitress had zero personality. I ordered a cheeseburger medium rare potato salad and a cup chowder Soup. Waitress brings cold slaw out I just ate it thinking she may not have heard me. Then she brought out ham and bean soup instead of clam chowder. I ate it and said nothing because it tasted good. Next came the burger not medium rare but raw. I told the waitress. She just took it back without a sorry about that or anything. I get another burger from her and it was not much different than the previous one. I will probably think twice about stopping here again. First time ordering there. Price was good, but I ordered the ribeye, med well. It was medium with NO flavor. It looked as if it was placed on Luke War flat top. The fat on the steak still looked raw and not caramelized. I threw it in a pan at home put a sear on it. Also had to cook my mushrooms and onions. They weren't grilled either. I just so happened to be in Coloma last year visiting the in laws and we stopped by this place for the Bears and Packers game. Naturally, the packers whipped their behinds. Free moonshine shots every time the packers scored a touch down. We didn't order food so I can't really comment on that but they did have some refreshments that were amazing like the fresh caught fish! It wasn't too busy and our bartender was very attentive. I believe he may have been the owner. Spotted cow is the best local beer and we kept them coming with no problems at all. Went to The Cabin for their Friday fish fry. The food wasn't bad but the service was horrendous. Our server managed to mess up one person's order twice and didn't even bother to apologize. After finishing dinner and waiting ten minutes for the server to come and collect payment (no credit cards accepted, by the way), when she brought back our change she made a point of telling us that they needed our table for a group that was on their way in. It wasn't like we were planning to hang out for the evening. There are plenty of better places to eat over in Wautoma. Save yourself the aggravation and avoid The Cabin. read more

Friday Night Fish Fry: With a group of five, service was good, wait staff pleasant. Two ordered the baked cod dinners, which were delicious. Three ordered the beer battered cod dinners. Here is the problem. It appeared that the grease might not have been hot enough. the batter on the fish was was not crisp, but greasy and the fish overcooked.
