This quaint restaurant, located about 15 minutes from Stevens Point, Wisconsin, was worth the trip! The ambiance, customer service, and delicious food made for a wonderful dining experience. The cheese curds arrived hot, fresh, and perfectly tasting... absolutely delicious! The old fashions and Bloody Marys were also made to perfection. The bread basket was a nice touch, although as a typical Wisconsin supper club fan, I was surprised the relish tray came at an extra charge instead of being included. The dining experience itself was unique and welcoming. The servers greeted us at the bar and escorted us to our table once it was prepared and the salads were already set out for us. The smoked salmon appetizer was a bit disappointing, as it was essentially a piece of smoked salmon served over lettuce with capers and crackers. My steak had quite a bit of gristle, although the flavor itself was very good. The standout dish of the night was definitely the pork ribs....you can absolutely tell why they are known for them because they were delicious! Overall, I would recommend checking this place out for the atmosphere, drinks, service, and their famous ribs. read more

Celebrated a Birthday at Two Lakes yesterday. Fabulous! My favorite cocktail was made to my specifications (that rarely happens at restaurants). Our dinners (Drunken Chicken and Ribs) were fall-off-the-bone perfect and so ample that we'll enjoy leftovers tonight. Our waitress, Liz, was attentive, helpful, and engaging. We topped the evening off sharing a Brandy Alexander Ice Cream drink made to perfection. Fabulous place to celebrate a milestone and enjoy and great meal. read more

Labor Day wknd visit. Service was excellent by bartenders and all staff. They were working very hard but made it appear easy! The shrimp scampi ravioli and prime rib were very good. The drunken chicken and tenderloin & shrimp combo were just okay. Steak lacked any flavor but was not dry or overcooked. The twice baked potato was gummy and could definitely tell it had been sitting a bit. The drunken chicken seemed to lack much flavor as well. The pizzas were being ordered at many tables and seemed to have many regulars there. I would definitely come here again and try something else. read more

I've wanted to try this place since I learned about it last year. It is pretty much out in the middle of nowhere; but our experience says it was a worthwhile trip. We made a reservation as part of our group doesn't imbibe. We walked in a couple of minutes early and were immediately greeted by one of the bartenders. We were directed to the hostess and were quickly seated in the spacious dining room. On our arrival it wasn't very busy. As the evening went on, the place filled. It took awhile for our waitress to come to the table, but we had a basket of bread and breadsticks to munch on during our wait. It also gave us time to look at the menu. Being a Friday night (fish fry...don't you know), several menu items were not available. However , everyone in our party was able to find something they liked on the menu. Several of us got drinks (old fashioneds of course). They were nice-sized drinks. Were they the best ever? No, but they weren't the worst. We also got the sampler appetizer for the group. Just under $20, it easily fed the six of us. For the meal, two of us got the seafood platter of shrimp, scallops and haddock (with French fries). It was very good. I especially like the deep fried scallops. Two people got the haddock dinner. Their only complaint was of the potato salad lacking flavor. Chicken strips and a sandwich rounded out the meal for our other companions. While we were there, many pizzas were being served. They looked fantastic. From the sheer number coming out of the kitchen, they must be good. The two lakes on either side of the restaurant aren't the prettiest but the setting is still nice. They offer a deck for those wanting to enjoy the weather during their meal. The place was well maintained and the staff seemed to be pretty efficient. Two Lakes Supper Club is always booked, we were amazed that we were able to get reservations the same day. We were seated at a booth with an amazing view of the lake. Our server told us about the night's specials and promptly took our drink orders. My bride and I don't share the same tastes in wine, so instead of ordering a bottle, we ordered individual glasses. For an appetizer we decided to split the shrimp cocktail, that had some of the largest shrimp I've seen served for an appetizer. It was very good, we just wished it came with more cocktail sauce, not just drizzled on the shrimp. For the main courses my wife ordered the Drunken Chicken and I ordered a Ribeye Steak with a baked potato. The Drunken Chicken was like a Chicken Parmesan, larger portion and quite good. The Ribeye was ok, a little over cooked for medium. For dessert we ordered ice cream drinks, a supper club tradition. Connie ordered a Pink Squirrel and for myself a Brandy Alexander. Both were served in large glass shake glasses, the ones out of an old ice cream shop and were excellent. I cannot confirm or deny my bride taking the rest of her "dessert" home in a sippy cup. A classic Wisconsin supper club set between two peaceful lakes, Two Lakes is a delightful dining experience. My friends and I were in the area for our annual visit to the Iola Car Show and we always are look for supper club dining options. We were happy to find Two Lakes. We arrived on a Friday night around 7:30pm...and the parking lot was packed...but the early dining crowd was just finishing their meals, so we were seated within five minutes. Our server came to our table right away, and was cheerful, attentive and efficient. We all ordered a cocktail (all reasonably priced) and the relish tray (not included in the price of the meal...and one of my only complaints...too many olives and not enough variety on the tray)...and then looked over their many meal options. Since it was later in the evening, they were out of two of the specials...the blue gill fry and the seafood platter. Two in my group ordered Two Lakes' "famous" drunken chicken and two of us order the full-sized order of the haddock fish fry (a full order is $12.99 and a half order is $9.99). Prices are incredibly reasonable and portions are huge. I did not try it, but my friends raved about their drunken chicken. The fish fry included four large pieces of haddock...that were lightly breaded and hot out of the frier. The fish tasted fresh and delicious. Sides included either French fries or potato salad. I had the potato salad, and I would say that it was okay, but too much on the bland and mushy side. We did not order dessert or after dinner drinks, but Two Lakes has an extensive list of ice cream liquor drinks priced at a budget friendly $7 apiece. From what I saw at other tables, they look delicious. And as our meal ended, we were able to catch a beautiful sunset over one of the lakes...a fitting end to a wonderful evening. If you're looking for a legit Wisconsin supper club experience, Two Lakes certainly is a great option...and its location is absolutely beautiful. read more

Celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary at Two Lakes Supper Club in Almond. Friends have talked about it for three years, and we finally took the plunge. When we first entered the bar, we were greeted by a very friendly bartender, and I noticed that, as the 5 o'clock opening hour approached, additional bartenders came on shift. As I looked around the restaurant, as a whole, it was obvious that they were very well staffed as opposed to understaffed. This is a refreshing change after what we have seen in the overall restaurant industry. But I digress... My wife ordered a lemon drop martini. I asked for a bourbon, old fashioned with Ginger ale and olives. The bartender asked my wife if she wanted the rim of her glass dipped in sugar and she, of course said yes. He asked if I was OK with Jim Beam and I said no I'd like Makers Mark. He nodded knowingly. When he brought back the drinks, we asked about how easy it might be to get a table since we didn't have reservations, and he pointed me to the hostess' station and told me to get our name in there. A very friendly woman asked how many in our party and when I said to she said we will get you right in at 5 o'clock She also said she'd be sending a waitress out to take our order as she handed me two menus 33 isn't it a nice round number anniversary, but we still wanted to celebrate our time together. My wife ordered the broiled shrimp and tenderloin, and I ordered the lobster and tenderloin. There's so many nice little touches at this establishment. When the bartender brought us our drinks, he brought us a sign that said "Liz Taylor" and let us know that that's what name our tab would run under. When the waitress, Becca, took our order she had a name tag and asked me to put it on the sign so they would know what waitress to put our tab under - a small detail, I know, but it made service run very smoothly. It did not take very long for our waitress to walk us back to our table and not long after that for our salads to arrive. I decided to try something new since we were also trying a new place, so I got their honey vinaigrette dressing. It was excellent with just the right amount of white vinegar taste to it undercut by the sweetness of the honey. The hostess actually took our salad plates when we finished, and when the waitress came back, she was like "What? Somebody else already grabbed your stuff?" and when we acknowledged that she's like "Well, maybe they'll bring your food out to you" with a wink and we had a nice laugh about that. Shortly after that Becca came out with our food and it looked and smelled magnificent. I actually could not wait, so I immediately cut off a piece of lobster, dipped it in butter, and put it in my mouth. "Is this heaven? No. It's Almond, WI. The lobster was so decadent and sweet that I immediately cut off another piece and put it on my wife's plate. She told me I didn't have to share, but after taking just one bite she was like "Oh my god! That's incredible." Had I known how good the lobster was going to be I may have just ordered lobster. I ordered my tenderloin medium rare and they brought it to the table at a perfect medium rare just the way I like it. As an interesting point they don't put a whole Lotta seasoning on the tenderloin, and rather than upset us it actually made sense. They do have a mixture of clientele but much of that clientele leans older so if you over season a steak, you would have trouble getting those people to return. A quick, sprinkle of salt and pepper immediately brought the steak into the "flavor zone." Every individual bite was delectable, and my steak was so tender that I actually could have cut it with a spoon. We have not had a supper club meal this good since last year when we went to the Sky Club in Plover. At this point we could have - and should have - stopped eating. With all the Italian food on the menu, I was hopeful they would have tiramisu for dessert but instead they had a variety of the usual dessert options. That's not a bad thing. We ordered the chocolate lava cake , and when it arrived at our table, it came complete with three scoops of French vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of both chocolate and caramel sauce. I really like to give honest feedback, especially when I eat a fantastic meal, so when we went up to the cashier to pay, I looked at her she looked at me and she's like "What.l?" I said, "Is it OK if I swear here?" She laughed and said, "The people here say I swear too much like a sailor or a trucker," so I looked her in the eye and I said "This meal was effing incredible." We both got a laugh and she said she loves to hear such great feedback about the food. If you get the opportunity to stop at Two Lakes Supper Club in Almond, Wisconsin, make sure to call ahead if you have a party larger than two. I migrated from Wisconsin to California four decades ago and was visiting my folks in Stevens Point when I had an inspiration. I wanted to know if there was still such a thing as a supper club. My parents assured me there was and we made a reservation at Two Lakes Supper Club. It checked all of the boxes and was a very pleasant experience for our party. I had a brandy old-fashioned and ya sure you bet it was a good time. The wooden booths with woodlands nostalgia on display and the hearty, tasty food were exactly the experience I sought. Tucked in the middle of nowhere yet packed from the minute it opens, this bar with a large dining room will delight... maybe not so much for the food, but definitely for that feeling of being in the "real America". The menu leans Italian with enormous portions (most of which you can order just half). It's the kind of place where you'll get five pieces in your four piece drunken chicken. Say it's not so! We've been here before and unfortunately service & food are going down hill in our last two visits. My daughter & I both ordered a medium rare ribeye. What I got was a thin, over done steak (my daughters was thick & medium rare). I politely queried server if this was actually a ribeye & noted it was well done. She took it back to kitchen & to my amazement she brought it back & said yes it's a ribeye & "hard to get medium rare on a thin ribeye". Not sure how she was trained but not the answer I was looking for. My wife's brandy old fashioned had no fruit & response was "short of oranges and cherries"??!! Salmon was unremarkable. I ate at this supper club on 6/26 with my sister & her male friend. I will, never, ever eat their again. The restaurant has a bait & switch menu when it came to the Lobster. My sister order two tails of lobster which was much LOWER on the WEBSITE & a total much HIGHER price in person. I work Retail and if something is lower on an item, we honor that price. We DO NOT make them pay the higher price. I paid the higher price. I also wrote a letter to the management and they never responded to ME. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!! read more

Had a reservation and checked in with the hostess while we sat at the bar for one drink. Nobody checked to see if we were ready for our table or came to take our order, so after a lengthy amount of time, we checked in again and apparently we talked to the wrong hostess as another one came flying up and told us, "I gave away your table, you have to check in with ME!" We had talked to a woman by the cash register. She was flustered and kept chastising us for talking to the wrong person and said she would find us a table. She did - I had a nice skirt on and sat down on a wet booth seat as did my friends on the other side. Wiped down, but it would have been nice if it was dry. This started us off on the wrong foot. All the "real hostess" had to have said, was, "I'm sorry, there was a miscommunication," but she was so snippy and awkward to blame the customer, when it was her mix-up. One of our all time favorites! A true supper club experience. The food and service are outstanding.

Note: They close for the winter, call before going during the off season. We have been here a few times for dinner and enjoyed all of the items we tried. They have your typical supper club offerings and more. We have not yet tried their pizza, but heard it is a local favorite. Seems that lots of people take the pizza to go. They also offer frozen pizzas to take home and cook. They have a large bar area with plenty of TVs. There are several large high tables in the bar area as well. There is outdoor seating, however, we have not seen people out there due to weather. Weekends will draw a substantial wait time, so plan accordingly. We heard that they do take reservations, so it may be worth a call if you have a large group or are on a timeline. read more

Staff while masking for covid and a sign requiring masks to enter....no masks worn by anyone, no distancing by anyone. My wife and I went to celebrate our 52nd wedding anniversary on May 19, 2019. My wife's full dinner lobster was under cooked and my full dinner 6 piece shrimp was elongated in shape with a tail but obviously was solid pieces of frozen shrimp meat deep fried which had little taste. I had a bottle of beer, difficult to get that wrong, but my wife ordered a UV Blue and lemonade which wasn't blue and not UV Blue. We asked to return it to the bar for what she ordered. The server brought back the same drink and told us it was what we ordered. We did as most elderly people do....we accepted the drink mistake and went on with our dinner. Just happened to be driving thru the area with my boyfriend today, and decided to stop by the Two Lakes Supper Club. Such a friendly place . Really chill atmosphere. Food was good. We both just had some cheese pizza, so I cannot really comment on other foods they serve. What really stood out was the service. Five stars mostly due to this. Went on a Sunday night, and it was packed. The old fashioned's are good, and were very reasonable at $3.50. I had the special of prime rib (m. rare) with twice baked and it was excellent. My wife had shrimps and raviolis. They were excellent as well. Service was on point and our server was very friendly. We have been coming to this area for decades, but this is the first time we have ventured to this restaurant. Thanks to Yelp for helping us find this gem. Wish we had found it sooner! For sure will be back mid week when the crowds are smaller to try the drunken chicken. It sounds so awesome. Also, there were lots of tables ordering pizza, and many folks taking pizza home. There are few places in Central Wisconsin worth going back to time and time again, yet we find ourselves always coming back to Two Lakes. This year with the COVID-19 pandemic we weren't sure if we would get to enjoy our favorite spring and summer time Friday night meals, but the owners and staff at Two Lakes have come through with online ordering and curbside pickup. I have underlying health conditions that make it risky for me to go to restaurants or bars during a major pandemic, so the accommodations are welcome in these trying times. Enough about that though. They have some of the best fish in the area, the bluegill special on Friday is to die for, and their pizza is also top notch. If you are able to dine in, service is always great and you will not be disappointed by their old fashioneds. If you are anywhere within reasonable driving distance and want to take a trip back to the heyday of the Wisconsin Supper Club, take the trip out to Two Lakes. read more

Had reservations early - 5PM - because our two young grandsons were with us. There were six of us and we were seated right as we walked in. Took about 15 minutes for the waitress to come take our drink and appetizer order - wasn't real busy yet, but oh well - we weren't in a hurry. The bourbon old fashioneds were very tasty - as usual - and the apps were very good as well. Timing was ok with drinks, apps and entrees except....my wife didn't get her salad (she didn't say anything to anyone) and when the entrees were served the waitress admitted she forgot to put in my wife's order, but she put it in and would bring her a salad to 'munch' on while we started our entrees. Her entree arrived about 7 minutes later. The only other hiccup was I ordered the Shrimp Scampi special which the on-line menu says comes on ravioli, but it came on penne pasta. No complaints on anyone else's orders. The waitress was attentive and pleasant. Had an after dinner drink at the bar and as always, bartenders were pleasant as well. Thought they might comp my wife's meal since she couldn't really enjoy it with the rest of us, but no. Otherwise would have been five star. read more
