Decent food, great service, and interesting ambiance made for an overall good dining experience. Their onion rings are definitely homemade -- not the kind someone pours out of a frozen bag to heat up. We were in the area and it was time for lunch. Stumbled upon this fun place. It's large inside, you could meet up with a lot by of people. We were seated quickly as it was an early lunch. Dropped over this evening to grab some great eats - NGL their onion rings were priority - this evening, and landed on a very PACKED place! T tried their Roast Beef Dinner - which let's be honest, should be renamed as a PLURAL dinner because there was a TON of roast beef! Nothing on the plate was overly salted, had a great flavor and consistency. Corn was excellently flavored, and mashed potatoes... he chose the Broccoli & Cheese Soup for his side. Super cozy, broccoli-eeee fierce with that oh so nostalgic node. We also snagged their Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap with onion rings; duhhh. As always... those light, airy rings of battered onion always hit the spot. The wrap held together! Breaded chicken inside, with bits of bacon, lettuce, and all things good. I literally have an entire half wrap, and a 1/4 of the other half to take home... linner tomorrow They don't skimp! I was glad to see the place bustling this evening after their fire mishap early this morning if you're into college sports, need a large open space venue for legal shenanigans, I bet they could totally accommodate! We visited here with a few friends on a Friday night. We were surprised how packed the place was, but we were able to snag one of the last tables. We started with fried pickle spears. These were very good and clearly freshly made. The menu is largely comprised of a variety of fried foods, namely all kinds of fried chicken. I played it safe and got the chicken tenders and frings, and my husband ordered the chicken fried steak with sides of green beans and mashed potatoes. The fries and onion rings were pretty good. My chicken tasted kind of like a frozen chicken tender with no seasoning in the breading. My husband said his chicken fried steak tasted more like ground beef, was hard as a rock, and difficult the chew. The green beans were fine and the mashed potatoes were tasteless. So, would I come back here for the food? Probably not. But the people watching? That's another story. There were all kinds of crazy things happening around us; it was like dinner and a show. So maybe we'll be back for a drink, some pickle spears, and free entertainment. read more

We loved the cabin look inside. We saw several televisions and they had a flag from each Big 10 team. They have high top and low top tables. Very nice sized bar. Service was quick and checked back several times to be sure everything was ok. Food was plentiful. Lots of choices! All food is fresh made. I always forget the cabin for reviews. It's bar food and done pretty good especially for the price. They make their own ranch which is a huge plus. I've had the Philly chicken salad, the bacon cheese burger, the tenderloin sandwich and the wings. All the food is average to above average (not a bad thing to be average for bar food). Was craving fried chicken and had read The Cabin had good fried chicken. Arrived on a holiday eve. It was crowded but there was room at the bar. Most other people sitting at the bar were playing some sort of card game with a bartender dealing cards and yelling out numbers on occasion. While service was good, I was an outsider and we both knew it. Ordered fried chicken dinner. Tried to ask for a thigh substitution but couldn't even finish the sentence before the efficient bartender told me "No Substitutions! A breast, leg, wing and thigh!" with just a hint of a No Soup For You tone. Ordered onion rings and after some time nursing a beer and waiting for dinner, the bartender told me that they were out of onion rings and would I like to substitute tots or fries? A quiet irony. The chicken itself was very good. Perhaps a tad pricey considering that I could not fine-tune the order. Return not imminent but possible down the road. read more

Soooo, when my friend invited me for lunch here, I was like "Ionno" Morman Bridge area, country music and pick up trucks. But was I in for a surprise The staff was super friendly, the service was awesome and the atmosphere was totally a cabin, but not in the woods. I ordered onion rings and fried pickles and my friend ordered chicken wings and gizzards. The rings were delicious, perfectly cooked and not greasy, the fried pickles were good, but a bit salty. The wings, those wings -oh yeah I WILL be back for those, they were not pigeon wings, they were wings from a full grown chicken and I totally appreciate that, they also had great flavor. Last but not least, the gizzards, I am not a fan of anybody's organ meat, but my friend talked me into trying one and I ate 3. So apparently I didn't mind going back for more. It's a dive bar. That's a good thing, to me! The good: food is served hot, tasty, and fast. Good iced tea. Started with the mushrooms. They were lava hot. Be very careful to not do what I did and burn your mouth. I had the BLT and it and the fries were pure bar food heaven. Really nice bartender. The bad: not much, bathrooms were okay. Wife and I were hungry for a chicken fried steak dinner and a friend highly recommended this place and we are so glad that he did. It was the best chicken fried steak we've had in years. Definitely not a frozen patty like so many places are doing, this was a real chicken fried steak dinner And the sides were excellent also. The mashed potatoes and gravy I'm pretty sure were homemade and the corn was also very good. A real plus was the small single size very warm loaf of bread that also came with the dinner. We will definitely be coming back. We live in West Omaha and this place is well worth the drive. The waiter we had was fantastic, the place was very crowded and he stayed on top of everything. Recently stopped in to meet some family for dinner and while we waited got an order of the super nachos. I should've read the menu closer I did not know The cheese was going to be nacho cheese sauce. To me that just completely ruins nachos. The soup of the day was ham and bean which is one of my favorites but was seriously inedible . Chewy chunks of ham and hard beans in a salty broth pretty much sums it up. Got a BLT wish they had a single one but they only offer a triple layered one. Would've been fine but the bacon certainly tasted it off. My dining partner totally agreed. Really love their back patio area! It's OK to go back and have a cocktail and they do allow smoking but it is pretty dirty not sure I would feel OK eating out there unless they would clean it up. This has been on my list of places to visit.....so today was the perfect day! Got there about 11:30 and place was hopping for lunch! Alot of larger tables already seated so was worried about the wait. Well, my concerns were unfounded. I was promptly greeted and placed my order....the Hot Roast Beef. The sandwich came out quickly and was piping hot. Taste was really good. The "standard" for a Hot Beef Sandwich (at least for me) is how tender and lean the beef is. It was SO tender and no signs of fat anywhere. I didn't need a knife at all......so good! Service was good...especially considering the large amount of people placing orders. First off I'm not from San Fransisco, I'm from Omaha. I have eaten lunch here several times during the week and it was always good. Had dinner with a friend last Friday night, March 31st and it was terrible....! I had a Philly steak sandwich and it tased like old oil, the onion rigngs were all stuck together with hardly any crust. My friend had a meatloaf sandwich and the potatoes were cold, the meatloaf was tough and the gravy tasted horrible. I had the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich, my mom tried the chicken strip basket, and my daughter had a grilled cheese. The pork tenderloin was huge and definitely above average in flavor. It was plain, but in a really good way. It was seasoned well and the breading was crispy. It paired well with pickles and mayo, but also came with lettuce, onion and tomato. If you're looking for some authentic diner/greasy spoon food then the cabin is a great option for you. It is located in Florence-a bit of an under visited area of Omaha for most citydwellers I would hypothesize. However given it's location in a smaller population, it serves as a diner, a local watering hole and a sports bar. They've got plenty of TVs hooked up to all the games and the cheery flags of the big 10 adorn the ceiling ceremoniously. Breakfast is served from eight to noon and that's what you really want to go for! They've got some great breakfast food for very very reasonable prices. I thought the chicken fried steak there was very good none of that ground-up meat stuff inside of the chicken fried steak it tasted and looked like a flank steak. The Eggs Benedict was also pretty good I got it as a special for the day. It also only came out to about $16 dollars total which is about half the price of anywhere else in town for brunch. Totally your neighbor bar and grill! Due to proximity from my house it won't be a frequent visit but when I'm craving some legit CFS (chicken fried steak) it'll be on my radar. read more

My first time going to The cabin. My mom actually suggested we go. Im glad we did. Seems like a great spot to eat and grab a drink maybe play some darts, catch a game. But we just went to eat this time lol. My mom had the pork tenderloin sandwich which was beautifully big lol. I had the chicken bacon ranch wrap which I have to say is one of the best chicken wraps I've had. I definitely will go back to try some more of there lovely menu. Oh and the service was great! They did come by once and said the kitchen was behind. No one ever apologized and I saw several people getting their food before we did.
