We had the most amazing breakfast here. We arrived at opening and got front row parking. We had our martini in less than five minutes and our breakfast in ten minutes. It was absolutely delicious. Having been here too many times to count for happy hour ( Omaha's best) we went to brunch this time. The omelettes were perfect. I had the artichoke omelette with cheese, bacon and tomato. It comes with Hollandaise which I asked for on the side. The sauce was so good. My husband used it on his breakfast potatoes- which were the only downside to the breakfast. They desperately needed seasoning. I tried to put maple syrup on mine and the weirdest thing is that it had no flavor. Could not taste the maple or even smell it. Service was prompt enough for our meal to warrant recommending it for that. The food was a mixed bag, though. My Cajun risotto dish was good. My wife's sandwich was less appealing. I had half as a leftover after the show, and agree with her assessment. BLTs are a fav for both of us and it wasn't appealing. Service was friendly and enjoyable. One waitress for the room was appropriate when we arrived. The longer we were there, the busier that poor woman was. Bar was slow to pour, which was odd, as we arrived around 6 to a mostly-empty location. Drinks were, however, quite good. Well mixed. Parking was reasonable at that time. If it was busy, parking looked to be tight. The patio was appealing, especially if you don't like smokers and don't mind street noise from Maple. Wow! Hidden gem! My sister suggested this place for lunch and I was happily surprised by the place. The long bar is very inviting and gives vibes of a place to have a good time. The dining area is small but spacious. The menu offers so many unique foods which was one of the most appealing parts of our visit. I got the best BLT I've ever had and a very creamy and delicious mushroom soup. I also loved their cocktail menu. So many cute and tasty beverages. Mantra is one of my favorite spots in Benson! The food and service are wonderful. Each of the menu items I have tried, have been really good! This past visit I got the meatloaf and it was great. The flavor was not lacking at all and I loved the mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables that came with it. The portion size was also perfect and I did not leave feeling hungry. However, it is a small restaurant inside so seating is limited. Not sure if they do reservations or not, but I would recommend calling them to see just in case. My first experience with Mantra was super positive! While this location does not take reservations we had no wait on a Sunday morning. Complimentary off street parking is available behind the restaurant. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating areas. There is an extensive breakfast menu plus a number of specials that were available. Our server was pleasant, although I think they might've been a little shorthanded with the crowd on hand. Food quality was excellent although getting seconds on coffees and drinks took a little longer than you would expect so double up! The restaurant was very clean and offered an open and airy vibe. The outdoor seating was very pleasant with very pretty flowers, although you do have to take into account periodic street noise challenges. Located at the west end of Benson, just beyond the downtown strip, I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you're trying to get away from the downtown brunch crowd, particularly during major event season. read more

It's true that occasionally a dish needs to be seasoned to the customers needs with more salt or pepper, which were at the table. Ambiance was perfect with a downpour of rain outside. Overall, it's a quiet place when the weather is midwestern. Overall, this is a wonderful establishment with lots of options. Seriously, compliments to the chef on a really nice meal with both basmati rice, perfectly crispy veggies and fried walleye (or Chicken Marsala). I'm glad we stopped in. Great brunch! One of the best in Omaha. I had the crab Benedict last time I was here and loved all items I've tried. French toast bread is different than standard bread--like a light Texas toast (very thick but crispy on the outside). My friend didn't love this but I thought it was fine, just more bready than eggy. No one tells, "Norm!" when you walk in the door, but this place definitely looks and feels like it serves a lot of regulars. That said, the hostess and server both were friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is more on the casual side, and it looks like they have a great patio for outdoor eating. We arrived in time for happy hour, and weren't overly hungry so we thought we'd just pick through appetizers and salads, but the primary draw was the steamed mussels in red sauce (an East Coast favorite of ours). We started with chips and bleu, which was a little different from what we've had elsewhere, but the humongous pile of fresh, hot potato chips on a pool of blue cheese dipping sauce was delicious. Happy hour price of $6 was a tremendous bargain. Next up, the mussels. There was a happy hour option that as more Cajun than Italian, but we opted for the regular price dish. The bowl was very large and very full, and we had only three that hadn't opened. I know enough not to force that kind of thing, but does everyone? I think the kitchen ought to take more responsibility there. Nevertheless, we were in heaven! The tomato vodka sauce was smooth and just spicy enough and the mussels, deliciously sweet. The dish was served with two pieces of toasted, buttered French bread, which was nice, but a basket of soft Italian bread to soak up the copious amount of sauce would have been better. (The dish also includes fingerling potatoes, but that seemed weird. ) The salads we ordered were more food than we needed, having slurped our way through the mussels, and, as it turned out, we didn't eat most if them. They were a disappointing letdown from the other two out-of-the-ballpark hits. The house Mantra Salad is served with a delicious-sounding Honey Shallot Dijon Vinaigrette, but it was either watered down or needed more of each ingredient. There wasn't much flavor, and a naked salad just doesn't do it for me. The Cobb salad was huge! But again, came with a less than flavorful vinaigrette. If the option exists, I'd go with a blue cheese dressing in both instances, should I get salad again. And, we will go again, because THOSE MUSSELS! Yum! Now, as noted, we were FULL, but my husband has a thing for key lime pie, so we ordered it. Comparatively speaking, not a great key lime pie. But a key lime cheesecake, not bad. I don't know if that was there intent, but that's what it tasted like. Overall, some great things, some not so great. Can't wait to go back though, with just a little more knowledge , because the pasta looked (and smelled) amazing! read more

We came right at 12:00pm and there was only one other guest in there. Our service was excellent the entire meal. I tried all the greek chicken sandwich with house chips and my husband had the BLT with tomato basic soup. Every bite of mine was savored. The sandwich included feta,pesto sauces, chicken, roasted tomatoes on focaccia, it was exceptional (and probably and understatement) the chips were slightly soggy but tasted fresh. We ordered a couple appetizers and we were really impressed with everything! Their spinach and artichoke dip was great. I love a good patio to sit and drink on and mantra is a great place to do that. *Takeout Review Working late calls for takeout! Eight of us ordered from Mantra while working in the late evening hours. Everyone expressed how impressed they were with their orders and the portion sizes. I was a bit disappointed with the crab cake as it was under seasoned with more breading taste than crab (although it was the perfect texture). The coleslaw was also under seasoned which seemed to be from the bland slaw dressing. The price seems a bit high for the ingredients, but, I'm not complaining. Having been to Mantra for brunch several times now, I feel confident that I could pick any item on the brunch menu and be completely satisfied. Everything I've tried has been absolutely delicious, and there is yet to be a time that I've left displeased with the food or service. It provides for the perfect atmosphere for a social brunch with friends, especially with their bottomless mimosas. The long wait time for brunch on the weekends (pre-COVID times) is a great indication of how yummy their food is! At my most recent visit, I decided to try out their lunch menu. I got the Lamb Burger while my friend got the Chicken Caesar Sandwich. He felt that his sandwich was average, and I felt similarly for my burger. While we weren't disappointed by the food, we weren't blown away either. In the future, I'll likely keep my Mantra visits limited to weekend brunch. read more

Living in Elkhorn, I often forget about Mantra for dinner. Stopped over at 6 on a Friday and all tables were full. We waited about 10 mins. Very happy we waited. Ordered the Gorgonzola muscles (forgot to take a pic) which are served with fingerling potatoes. Quite yummy. Large sized muscles. Likely one of the best muscle preparations in Omaha. Had the bread pudding for desert. Heavy and enough for two for a couple meals. It is layered with a dark chocolate and drizzled with caramel and chocolate syrup. Only downside is the proximity of tables makes it uncomfortably easy to over hear conversations from the next table. Service was efficient and friendly. Still a 5 though. read more
