Plenty of parking. In kinda industrial Bath OG pizza/pasta joint. Don't expect fine dining but good if that's what you're looking for... Don't take cards. ATM behind you. Order at the front and we'll bring it to you. Coke came in a can. Side salad was cold and fresh. Iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, onion, green pepper. Canned black olive slices. Son had the spaghetti and meatballs. He said it was good, not great. I had the meatball sub. Also, good. Side of garlic bread was really good. Baked that goodness in there. Kids running the joint but they really do actually seem to care. Extra points there! Original shiplap siding interior with OG stain. A little dark, but goes with the mood of the place. We haven't been here since high school! It's pretty much the same as I remember. The food was pretty decent and the pizza was the same as I remember it. Parking can fill up quick if a busy night, just be patient. It still is kind of dark inside, but I like that. You place your order at the counter and go find a table and they bring your food out to you. Still cash/check to pay. An ATM machine is available. Overall, it's still the same and it's pretty good. Perfect date night vibes over a pie in the back corner with the cool table that was all the carvings in it. That is the perfect spot! Great pizza, and get the pitcher of beer, you know you want too! We had ordered 2 small pizzas. One had lite sauce,pineapple, mushrooms. It didn't have Lite sauce and very dry crust. Our other pizza had pepperoni and bacon. The crust on this one was burnt dry you could hear it crunch black all over crust. So check your order if you pick up. Very disappointed this time!! read more

My go to Pizza place in Bath Maine area. Thin crust, plenty of sauce, cheese and toppings. Sauce and cheeses goes all the way to the end of the crust. No need for stuffed crust gimmicks to make up for the lack of flavor. Mom and Pop place that has not changed in the 27 years I have been coming up to Bath for work. Prices are fair and the service is good. Not in the heart of the downtown Bath, but worth the 5 minute drive. read more

On vacation and camping in Boothbay, craving pizza and the best pizza is at The Cabin in Bath, about a 35 min drive from Boothbay. We have nothing but time to kill so off we went. Located in an Historical building across from the shipping yard with parking next to restaurant. When you go in, it's like stepping back in time inside. Old wooden booths and wood floors, nautical decor, dimly lite. The booths all have a lamp on the table, big place with 3 different areas to choose a table to eat. Cash only, ATM machine near order and pickup counter. Serve beer on tap and in bottles and many can soft drinks, no ice. Paper plates, if you want silverware they give you just that, no plastic. Walk up to the counter, check out the menu and order and pay, take your name and deliver your order to your table. You also can sit outside in a quaint private area along the side of the restaurant. Beer/ 4.00 per glass, also serve pitchers. Was busy and our food came to us after a 40 min wait. Ordered 14" pizza, also come in 10" size and a jumbo family size 28" huge! Our pizza was perfect, we requested well done and it was. Delicious with ample cheese and toppings and we ordered the sweet and spicy red sauce, yum! Prices are fair, give you your money's worth, beer was ice cold, great dinner, we were happy. They have hot subs, specialty subs, cold subs, salads, pasta dinners, appetizers, check out this place and give them a try. I ordered a large Loaded Pizza with extra onions and mushrooms. It was ready to go when I arrived with cash in hand. The down side was there didn't appear to be any extra onions or mushrooms which I requested and paid for and the dough was a bit gooey. I knew I wanted to try a place that's been around for 50 years ... I figured it had to be good, right? Everyone in my group got pizza and it did not disappoint. I had the shrimp pizza and tried my friend's seafood pizza. Both delicious! It did take an abnormally long time to get our order but I anticipated that when I saw the hiring sign. We came to this place on one of our trips out to Maine. We live in Chicago and are surrounded by great food and restaurants. The Cabin is located in kind of an industrial area of Bath but it's worth checking out. Neat building and cozy atmosphere. We ended up getting a pizza which was surprisingly good. I guess I was not expecting a whole lot but this place is a diamond in the rough. If you are near by or traveling in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in here! read more

It is dark and cozy and yet welcoming. Service is cheerful and informal. Casual dining at its best. We tried it for the first time a few months ago and have been back a few times since. The Hawaiian pizza is a standout among a pretty good lineup, the wine is inexpensive and decent, and the salads are generous. The artichoke bites appetizer was not exactly what we expected but was delicious--a generous serving of little hot crostini just melting with cheese-- them and a salad would make a decent meal. They also reheated well in the oven the next day (since we over-ordered). Like the pizzas, the sandwiches are generously loaded and well made. When we're in a hurry, we call ahead for takeout, but actually, it's nice to sit and visit while you wait for piping hot deliciousness to arrive. I love pizza shops that are a blast from the past, and this certainly hits all those nostalgic notes I look for. The cozy nooks and booths, the dim lighting, the old historic paraphernalia on the walls. I especially love the old tables that have been carved into it for decades, with things like "Pat was here" or "Janet 1983" (do people do this anymore?). This isn't trying to be an upscale pizza shop, and you'll find most of your typical pizza toppings as options. They do a sweet and spicy (mostly just sweet) that I've never had anything similar to elsewhere (in a good way). I enjoy the plain cheese. Crust is thin but chewy, the kind that you need to sink your teeth into and rip off. Reminds me of the pizza I had growing up. No, this isn't New York pizza, and honestly, you shouldn't expect that level of pizza in Mid Coast Maine. It's pretty darn good for what's available though! A can of soda, beer, or low-end wine pair well with the offerings. I generally stick with pizza, so I can't really speak to their other menu options. This place is certainly pizza #1, everything else is there for the few people that go and don't feel like pizza. I've always had decent service (there's not much to it, you order and then they drop it off). I do agree with a lot of comments that if you are picking your pizza up you should maybe tack on 10 minutes to the wait time you are given if it is right around dinner time. This place can get crazy busy. Cash only can be annoying, but mostly if you've never been there before. Most reviews I see complaining about this are from people that are clearly stopping in while on vacation. If you live local and are a regular you know to have cash on hand, since this is pretty typical at smaller pizza and take out shops. I look forward to having my children come here as they grow up. I like to envision a birthday party for them so I can finally order that enormous pizza :) read more

I am a typical New Haven native pizza snob. My goodness! The Cabin's pizza is right up there with all the great New Haven places. I've never said that about any other place around the country. The crust is phenomenal, but I will say that in the central part of the pizza, the crust got fairly soggy. I had called when we were driving down from the north and asked how long we should expect to wait for an order, so we could plan on the order being close to being ready when we arrived. The nice man said a 30 minutes wait til orders were done at that time. Perfect! We were 25 minutes away and so I ordered the pizza and a gluten free wrap. The pizza was done about 40 minutes after we ordered. No problem, except the wrap wasn't ready for another 15-20, so the pizza sat on their oven for 15 minutes and I have a feeling that's how the central part of the crust got soggy. But, aside from that, this was a phenomenal pizza. The outer crust was a crispy/chewy delight, the cheese and sauce were excellent and the toppings very tasty. If it were not for the delay in our order being ready, 55 minutes instead of the project 30 minutes, I would have given a 5/5 rating. The wrap we got was also excellent. Salami, ham and provolone with all the veggies it comes with. Very tasty and well wrapped so it didn't fall apart when eating. If we are driving through Bath, Maine again, we're definitely stopping there! read more

This wouldn't have been my first choice for takeout, but someone else I was ordering for said they made "bomb cheese steaks" and that was what she wanted... I was ordering just a salad and figured either way it would be fine. If you're not from the area, be warned that noon in the middle of the week must be BIW lunch hour. The streets were mobbed with people who would walk right in front of your car, without looking. Not the restaurant's fault, just not worth driving through for less than mediocre food. I did not realize they were cash only. I had looked at the website a few times for the menu, but I guess I didn't click on the hours where it is stated in very tiny letters that only cash/checks are accepted. When I went to the counter to pay and handed the woman my card, she looked at me like I was crazy and said "we only take cash, there's an ATM behind you" not ideal, but oh well. The bag I was handed that had the two subs in it was surprisingly light and when I asked about dressing for my salad she said she thought she threw an Italian in there.. glad I asked for some ranch! While neither of the steak subs I ordered were for me, they looked tiny and dry (both ladies I ordered lunch for barely ate any of their sandwich and seemed to be taking "polite bites" since I paid. Both of them ended up in the trash after lunch) I had ordered my salad with no olives and the lady repeated my order on the phone. Surprise, olives! Salad totally ruined for me. We stopped off here for a quick bite after going to the beach! It's a bit interesting, you place your order up front, pay (cash only!) and take a seat. Hubby's parents got a Philly cheese steak, we got a large pizza and cheesy garlic bread. The bread was buttery, cheesy and had a good flavor. The pizza was decent but lacked ... something I suppose flavor. The cheesesteak was good but very greasy and was dripping quite a bit, making a mess of grease and fallen sandwich contents. I would stop here again but my hubby wasn't a huge fan and couldn't really place what he didn't like about the pizza. read more

The Cabin in downtown Bath, is a weird, unique gem. The restaurant is covered in dark wood, from floor to ceiling. Walking around in this place, you would swear you are in the cabin of a ship. There are different rooms and little alcoves you can enjoy your pizza or pasta in. Order your food at the counter. Beer and wine is sold here. There are many bottles of beer, local craft brews, domestic beers, some cider, and wine. There are two selections of beer on tap. The pizza is one of the closest I have found in this state, to NY style. The pizza is good, and roof of your mouth burning hot when you take that first bite. My wife highly recommends the white, shrimp scampi pizza. They have good food here. The incredible thing they have is a manhole cover pizza. It is as it sounds, it is the size of a manhole. This can feed 6-8 people. Last time we were there with 5, we had pizza left over. A few things to know. They are cash only, and they do have an ATM if you forget. There is a large shipyard, BIW, across the street, I recommend steering clear of here at lunch, or, getting there early between 11:30 and 12:00, during the weekdays.
