We visited Otto in Brunswick tonight. The parking lot is small, but it turns over quickly since many are there for takeout. The staff welcomed us immediately. There is a full bar along with a menu of a few appetizers, salads, and pizza. I tried the "Painkiller" which is now my favorite new drink. Our table tried both the meatball and cheesy garlic bread appetizers- so yummy! The pizza was super delicious as well. The ambiance reminds me of Cheers, as we felt like regulars even as new patrons there. We will be back often. read more

If you want a place where you can sit down and see a few locals engaging with the familiar staff, this is a good place to be! Stopped by as a tourist in the area. I know it's a chain, but it felt pretty welcoming and the bartender clearly knew some of his regulars. It's a small restaurant, so the service was pretty quick. Definitely felt a little like an outsider by the treatment of the staff, but not in an overly rude way. Didn't affect my dinner too much. The pizza itself was quite delicious! Go Otto's! Haven't been here for awhile, needed a good pizza and knew we had to go to Otto's. Never ate inside, we always do take out. It was a very pleasant experience. The interior, nothing to write home about, but the service! The waitress made our lunch special, so upbeat, attentive and fun. The pizzas here are fantastic, always. The crust delicious, the toppings just the right amount, the sauce perfect. But the new thing here right now: ITALIAN SUBS. My husband gets way more excited by an Italian than pizza so he had to try it. It was the best Italian we've had in ages, I couldn't stop grabbing it. They make the bread, damn is that bread good. They make the side of dressing that comes on the side. It was really really really good. And a caesar salad was a surprise also, absolutely perfect with once again house made salad dressing and shards of parm. Some people say the prices are high but for this quality, I'll pay these prices anytime. (and they're not that high) Had a great time, can't wait to come back for another Sub. The pizza at Otto is very good. If you have picky kids like me, order the cheese pizza old style, otherwise you end up with unusual layering if cheese and sauce. I love the ricotta, meatball, and basil pizza. The reason they lose a star is because the prices of the large pizzas are quite high. And their beer prices are a bit crazy too--$11 for a 16 oz can of Substance. But two 12" pizzas (the small size) feed our family. OTTO's has the best pizza in the Brunswick/Bath area and is always my go to spot! The pizza always tastes delicious, fresh, and I love how the crust has char on it that's a big plus for me. I love dipping it in the house made red sauce they make. If you are a ricotta lover on your pizza this has the best tasting ricotta around as well! Only thing I wish was that OTTO's was open later than 9pm because I find there are a lot of people who love a late night pizza and the only option unfortunately is Domino's, not a quality pizza place like OTTO's. I stopped in at the Brunswick Otto after running a bunch of errands. Being a devotee of their other offerings, I was eager to try the meatball sub, a new addition to the menu. I sat in their (quaint) bar area, just chilling and decompressing, gave my order, and caught up on the news. AND THEN..... out came my meatball sub. I immediately noticed that it wasn't served in the same-old, same-old bun that everyone used (you know, kissing cousin to a hot dog roll). This bun looked like it meant business! There was so much to this that I actually had to use a knife and fork to start eating it. I admit that it takes something away from the experience, using a knife and fork; kinda like eating your chicken wings with rubber gloves on. ANYWAY.... It was a DELIGHTFUL sandwich, loaded with Otto's special meatballs, the good sauce, and plenty of melted cheese. Not to mention the roll, did I mention the roll? In the interest of transparency, I am not nor have I ever been an Otto's employee, a relative or friend of one, and I have never played one on television. I just think that Otto's is a cut above and for the discerning palate you should spend time experiencing their amazing array of pizza combinations (mine is the spinach, garlic, and kalamata olives). But at some point, go native and get the meatball sub. But do it there; it comes out piping hot and although I'm sure it's still good at home, right outta the oven was just superb! read more

It was my first night in Maine for a wedding I was attending, and the night everyone got in, we decided just to do a big takeout pizza order from Otto in Brunswick. The pizza was delicious. I will say... when I got there, it was a bit of a wait because they forgot to make one of the pizzas in our order. Now, the order was large and mistakes happen, but... The staff at Otto is a young staff. And the kitchen is very open. And my best suggestion would be... if I were the owner... maybe just remind the kitchen staff to be mindful of how open the kitchen is ;). And I'll leave it there. Butternut Squash, Ricotta & Cranberry: This was a good pizza, although pretty sweet profile over all and I wouldn't want to eat only this pizza without a more savory pizza to balance this one out. I also think that sausage might be a really good addition on this pizza. Buffalo Cauliflower, Scallion & Blue Cheese: This was by far the favorite amongst the whole crew. The moderate level of spice, the balance with the blue cheese, the char of the cauliflower. All in on this pizza. Margherita: This pizza was so thin and it lacked the ingredients to keep it really insulated and fresh from the time it was made to when I had it. That being said, I would just order this one in store if you're eating there. Roasted Yam, Applewood Bacon & Fried Sage: This one definitely was delicious and delivered. The fried sage was a nice touch. I feel like I had tried another pizza or two lol, but my memory is a little fuzzy. Overall, the 10 or so of us that had the pizza really did get our fill. And everyone was very happy. Looks like they have locations all over ME and MA, so if you're in the North East - I definitely would recommend stopping by for some eats. We've eaten so many pizzas from Otto. The Otto-made fresh dough and superior quality of their sauces and cheeses make every pizza great. They offer all the traditional toppings on tomato sauce, but it's the non-traditional ones we love best. We usually order butternut squash, ricotta, and cranberry plus one or two others. They have never failed to please: from mashed potato and bacon to hot honey, char pepperoni, and goat cheese. hands-down, the best pizza in the state of Maine! I don't know how it can get less than five stars. This pizza is delicious. Ingredients are always fresh and super tasty. My favorite pizza is the curled pepperoni with hot honey and goat cheese. Those are three things that I never thought I would like on pizza but when you put them together, it's so delicious! After considering several items on the menu, I went with the pineapple, bacon and hot honey pizza, even though I've never before considered myself a fan of pineapple on a pizza. OMG, what a lucky choice! The crust was just the right thickness and chewiness, and the combination of toppings blew me away. Not too much pineapple so as to overpower the other ingredients. The food was delivered hot, delicious, and with great customer service. Though my soda was left on the counter back at the restaurant, the driver (who I told not to worry about it) went out of his way to not only drive back to bring me my Bubly, but also brought a desert. The online order system works really well. For the first order, I decided to keep it simple. Plain pie. Closest thing to a NY pie since I left Long Island, NY back in the 70's. Great foldable pie. Would be great if they COOKED their pizzas fully through. Soggy grossness. Maybe it's just me, but when placing an order, I don't think a special request to cook it should be necessary. This was strike three for us. Terribly inconsistent. First visit, all toppings were on one side of the pizza, cooked ok. I thought 'next time I'll have to ask them to put toppings on the whole pie' Next time, one pizza was so undercooked it couldn't be picked up and was th grown away. LAST time, today, our third and last time. I literally asked them to cook the pizza, 'make it well done' because apparently they need that direction. One pizza was cooked, the other, a large, was thrown away. SO BAD. So much potential but such a flop. Boo to you Otto. read more

I didn't bother to follow the order countdown online, but just showed up at the appointed time. The staff were friendly and my pizzas were all ready to go - combined both orders. My children aren't crazy about the pizza because it's not as straightforward ("normal") as they prefer, but they still scarf it down, and I love it. Unfortunately, we have ordered several times from Otto in Brunswick because, with the exception of driving to Brunos in Bath, this is the best pizza we have found in our area. The crust is amazing, the toppings fresh, and overall the pies are close to what I would call awesome. Pizza in Maine is always a hit or miss proposition and there of several very good pizza shops throughout the state but finding one stand stands apart from the rest is difficult. I have spent time in NYC, Chicago, and other locations known for good pizza and while our Maine options may not measure up to best ever status, Otto is one of the best pizza destinations in our state. read more
