It is fun. Rockland Golf Course in Massachusetts is known for its distinctive layout and scenic…read morebeauty, making it a favorite among casual and intermediate golfers. The course features two unique 18-hole layouts: a Par 54 course made up entirely of par 3s, and a "Players Course" that includes a mix of par 3s and par 4s. These designs make the course approachable for beginners while still offering a challenge for more experienced players, especially with some par 3s stretching over 200 yards. The walkable terrain and natural surroundings of oak trees, streams, and rocky outcroppings add to the course's charm. Despite its appeal, Rockland Golf Course has faced some criticism over the years, primarily concerning its maintenance. Golfers have noted inconsistencies in course conditions, particularly in the upkeep of greens and fairways. There have also been occasional complaints about poor customer service, including issues with tee time management and unprofessional staff interactions during events. These concerns suggest a need for better oversight and communication from management to maintain the course's reputation. That said, the course still holds value as a local golf destination, especially for those looking for a more relaxed or quick round. The clubhouse and event spaces also offer picturesque views and can be a nice option for hosting gatherings, although some past users have reported mixed experiences. Overall, Rockland Golf Course offers a unique playing experience with great potential, but it's worth checking recent reviews or course updates before booking a round or planning an event.

Strange that there seems to be no reviews anywhere for this course from the past couple years --…read morethought I'd add one. First of all, the staff is friendly as hell. Like legendarily friendly. A++ for them. As for the course itself, it has definitely made strides from the abysmal condition it was in for about 2 years from Spring 2024 to this season (June 2026). It got so bad we stopped going and took it off our "favorites" list. We heard they made improvements recently so we tried it again -- and they clearly have done work on fairways, which are in good shape, and greens, which are *immaculate*. Having said that -- the tee boxes are still terrible. Not seeded, not mowed... go out to your backyard and pick a dry patch of long grass-- it's better. I don't run a course, but mowing and filling in your tee boxes seems like pretty low-hanging fruit that would SIGNIFICANTLY improve the experience. I would think they could be fixed in a weekend. Super frustrating. Some other frustrating things -- that could be fixed in short order. Fill up your cart bottles and tee side boxes with actual sand/seed (basic) and hire a ranger (yes, they do not have them). We played on a Sunday and finished the front 9 in over THREE HOURS. Yes, you read that right. Total round just over SIX HOURS. We talked to members who said it isn't a whole lot better on weekdays. NOTE: These members were not thrilled. Seeing the improvements Poquoy made this year helped me realize that the stewards of this course DO care -- hopefully they care enough to keep going. Fix the tee boxes! Do the little things -- like fill your bottles and tee-side boxes with sand/seed. Fix your pace of play! Do these things, and you're back!

After so many years I was psyched to play it again today. What I found was a course that was very different than what I knew. The tee boxes were mostly without grass, the fairways as well as the rough were largely crab grass. The greens were in good shape but VERY slow. The pro shop very much needed updating while the carts were OK but have a GPS system. The others in my foursome were fully in agreement; that the condition of the course was the worst we've played all season and wondered if the course had changed management during the past few years. Poquoy Brook needs fertilizer of some type, and should aerate and overseed in the Fall. we paid $69 cart fee included which is reasonable but even at that price I would NOT recommend . . .

I really wanted to enjoy this course. But at the end of the day I was feeling frustrated. Two stars…read morewas being generous considering how much they are charging for this course. To be clear, I visit and frequent many courses in the New England area and have gone as far as California to enjoy playing. This course has seen much better days. To start, they are going to be getting an update in the near future. Knowing that their greens are in rough shape, they should have offered a discount. These greens had to be the worst if ever seen. Either they had holes everywhere, crab grass chunks growing through out it, or sadly both. At one point they had removed a wasp hive from the ground and simply left it there beside a hole in the ground. A few wasps still lingered there. What probably frustrated me most was their lack of marking the holes. Half the time the markers were backwards, covered by bushes, not even near the tee off area, or missing entirely. Some signs were unclear and sent us to a hole but it was a different hole than marked. Lastly, even though they had 5 par holes, they want you to avoid driving on the grass. This wouldn't be an issue if the cart paths were either visible half the time or facing the direction of the next hole. It was a frustrating experience all around and ended up quitting after another player had helped me find the right direction. He admitted that he was also frustrated by the lack of signs and poor care of the grounds.
