My friend is a member, so I've played numerous times over the past two years and always have a fun time. It's one of those courses where I look forward to playing each and every hole, as there are many opportunities to score well even if your initial tee shot goes a bit off track. The indoor restaurant and special occasion room are really nice, but the locker rooms/bathrooms are in need of some TLC as they're showing their age. Note: They are *strict* on keeping your shirt tucked in at all times. It's a bit contrary to the more relaxed vibe, but it is what it is.

Our granddaughter got married and had her reception at NewHill on 5/22/26. We were the first wedding under the club's new ownership. This was a large wedding that utilized the pond area for the ceremony, the deck for the open bar & appetizer hour and the large ballroom for the reception. Everything was flawless and that says a lot when there were many new employees, chefs & cooks, bartenders and management testing their skills for the first time. The original booking was with the previous ownership under the Hillside brand and we worried about the transition. Believe us when we tell you that there was no need to worry. The whole day was perfect. NewHill Country Club has completely erased any previous experience you may have had when they were Hillside.

The course and the grounds were gorgeous, clean and well maintained. You could tell why some of the best golfers in the world come to play in this tournament. Food was pretty standard but i was glad that they had a "meal deal" for MasterCard users as well as turkey sandwich and a vegetarian option. What they will get you on is water - my husband and I could not find one fountain during our entire time at the TPC - so be prepared to pay for it. I also recommend getting there early, even the some of the "lesser" players in this tournament are some of the best in the world. It's one of the few places that you can be less then 5 feet away from Tiger Woods and Bubba Watson. One note about "Tiger" watching - if you plan on doing so, stake out a spot at least 1 hour before he is scheduled to tee off. That is the ONLY way to get a glimpse of him. Then be prepared to walk, walk fast and be surrounded by throngs of other spectators. We were able to keep up with him for about half the round but it got to a certain point where there were so many following him by the time we got to the hole he was on to the next one.

For Yelp, you save your milestone review for important events, important dining experiences, etc. For my milestone review, I'm reviewing the Lebaron Hills Country Club. My BFF and her fiance tied the knot this past weekend in Massachusetts. The reception dinner was held at the Lebaron Hills CC. The Country Club boast a nice links style golf course that was the perfect backdrop to a Lakeville sunset. We took some great pictures with the sunset and golf course in the background. The course itself is a private course so a person like me would not have been able to play on it anyways. It looked nice from afar though. The clubhouse was nice, clean and very bright. The starter didn't mind us looking around inside Lebaron's golf shop and even hooked us up with some free ball markers from his own stash (not from the shop, don't get it twisted). I did purchase a hat clip with the Lebaron logo ball marker for use here in Cali! Now for the reception itself, it was marvelous. The food (I had the steak) was really good. The steak was a bit too cooked but I'm sure that's the norm for a reception, they're not looking to take orders and cook any rare steaks for anyone. The hors d'oeuvre were good too (crab cakes, scalloped wrapped in bacon and some beef skewers). Open bar for beer and wine. Nice reception and dining area, beautiful patio area and a stunning backdrop with a nice golf course. Congratulations to the new Bride and Groom...V and J, June 30, 2012. It set the tone for what ended up being a very uncomfortable meal. The organization of the brunch was extremely poor. All tables were seated and then released at the same time, which created complete chaos. There was no direction, no clear flow, and no communication. Two lines formed for the buffet, but there wasn't nearly enough space to accommodate everyone. At the carving station, both lines collided and people had to awkwardly cross over each other just to access different items. The food itself was also underwhelming. Several of the vegetables were undercooked, and overall the quality did not meet expectations for a holiday brunch. To add to the frustration, I asked for milk for my mom's coffee (she can't have cream), and after about 10 minutes, we were told there was no milk anywhere in the building. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience--especially for a special occasion like Easter. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

We've hosted many events in the private function rooms, including birthdays, funeral brunches & bridal showers. I've also attended a wedding at Thorny Lea and all I have are good things to say about the food, staff & space. The club takes care of its guests and visitors alike. If you are an outsider, however, you'll surely feel even more like one during the busy seasons when all of the members are on their game and taking over the place they likely call "home" for 5-8 months out of the year.
