We went in around 1:30 on Saturday. Got our drinks and about 30 minutes later our food came. Our drinks were gone by the time our food came. Food was cold and had to eat it without anything to drink, because we didn't see the waitress again until we had to track her down for our check. If this place stays open for another month, it'll surprise me. We'll eat Burger King over this place any day of the week. read more

We had the north shore pasta, crawfish etouffee, and crusty bread. The pasta had to be sent back because it had no sausage. It had way too much cheese, the sauce was runny and bland. The sausage added wasn't andouille sausage. The crawfish etouffee was gooey, bland, and swimming in celery and only a few crawfish and 1&1/2 pieces of sausage. Worst place ever!!!! I can't say if the food was good or not because we were never served. We were sat at a dumpy table next to the kitchen when the restaurant had plenty of seating else where. Tables seated after us were greeted and served while we patiently waited. It is said to see racism still existing. We are a bi-racial couple and it was shocking that we where ignored and shunned! The food is pretty good;however, I really had to think about my rating because the place has a horrific odor. It makes you think of cat urine. You wonder if the place is really being cleaned. This was our second visit. Smell hasn't changed. Loved the crusty bread. Gumbo would have been better with more meat. It is mostly okra and tomatoes. Shrimp has been good both times. read more

I always rely on Yelp for reviews on where to eat when out of town. The reviews for Cajun Place in Eufaula Alabama sounded great. My wife ordered a Hamburger and she said it was great. I ordered one of my favorites a Grouper sandwich for $9.95 which is a fair price. What I received was two pieces of bread covered with in a dressing. The fish was so thin I simply could not only taste it, I could hardly see it either. I scarfed it down as I was famished....my mistake. When I complained to the waitress she said since I ate it, there was no way they would remedy the situation and I should have complained before I ate it. It was explained to me that she would have sent it back and the cook would have fixed the problem. Well when I was a young teen I worked in a restaurant and have seen first hand what happens to returned food from a dissatisfied customer. The cook would curse, throw it on the floor covered with grease and filth, pick it back up and throw it on the grill. No, I will not send food back. When I asked for the manager or owner I was informed the owner was recuperating from surgery. At that moment I understood what was going on. No one was watching, no one was supervising and no one was responsible. Apparently the waitress was the only one to remedy the situation, and she simply didn't care if I paid $10.00 for a piece of bread, nor was she interested In asking the cook what was he thinking. I would suggest if the owner is unavailable at least put a decent manager in there to ensure your customers are not ripped off. read more

On our way to Panama City Beach, we stopped in to get some "home cooked food". Place wasn't a 5 star restaurant but it was quaint. Although our server was kind, the regular patrons are bout rude as hell and absolutely RACIST! I've never ever had to deal with such ignorant and obnoxious racism in my life. And to make matters worse, the regular patrons with the racist tongues were all men. And we were all women. And they had the audacity to try and fight us. Yes, fight us. Our son remembered this place from many years ago when we were traveling through for a travel ball tournament. We were traveling back through today and he asked to stop again! We were not disappointed! The staff were wonderful and the customer service was on point! The meals all had extra flavors and were mouth watering just as we remembered! Promptly seated, cold refreshments ordered and delivered, menus reviewed! Drinks arrived, orders taken and appetizers served. One of the best Restaurants for service, hospitality and overall attentiveness. Appetizers were fried green pickles and crab stuffed mushrooms, next were the fresh green salads and then the main dishes were served. I had Mushrooms, Steak pasta. Supper delicious. Excellent Cajun food east of New Orleans! I had the Soup sampler which consisted of red beans and rice, crawfish étouffée and gumbo. All three were so delicious - I'm not sure which was my favorite. The red beans and rice were the best I've ever had!! My husband had the lunch special - swamp pasta. It was a combination of the étouffée and gumbo over noodles. It looked delicious and he ate it all with gusto! We were driving thru and stopped on a whim. So good we did! I would recommend this little hole in the wall. Good food and friendly people! read more

The food may not have warranted this low of a score, but the service definitely did. The only time in my life I didn't leave a tip. It took nearly an hour from the point we ordered to when food was brought out. This was only after we told a server (not our original server who never checked on us once) that we were about to leave. Horrible experience... our group of 6 waited nearly 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge us and over an hour for the food to come out once ordered. I understand that sometimes back ups happen, but everything was brought to the table cold. Unacceptable when we have waited this long. Their offer was for a free dessert. Not to remove the items like the cold Steak and Mushroom pasta from the bill. Not more than a bite was taken, as it was cold and not edible. I am Cajun by blood and relocated due to active duty status in the army. I am very critical when it comes to Cajun food. This place was no disappointment. I had the etouffee and shrimp po boy. Both were on point I only wish the po boy was bigger traditionally the sandwich is huge but at this place it was a bit small. At one point the waitress said "I know I sat you but quite honestly I forgot all about you." Stopped here for lunch. Friendly staff in a rustic, very casual place. My husband got the grouper po-boy, I got the grilled shrimp platter. Our food was good but nothing outstanding. Prices seemed fair for seafood. Restaurant is at the end of what must have been strip of active stores in its day. I travel a lot due to my job so I have a lot of experiences with a lot of different restaurants. This is by far one of the best places I've been to while I've been out on the job. The waitress got my order taken quickly and the food was out in fifteen minutes on the dot. The service was excellent, but the service is different from the actual food. Now about the food. I only ordered a shrimp po-boy all the times I've been there, and my opinion on this sandwich may be controversial..............they must have some sort of food god in the kitchen because the minute I bit into that heavenly sandwich I had a spiritual experience on par with that of 9 tabs of acid. It was so good. The balance of the ingredients was perfect. The shrimp, the lettuce, the mayo, the Cajun seasoning. Everything was perfect. 10/10 if the only thing standing in between me and this restaurant was having to fight a sickly old lady to the death ......... Well she didn't have much longer anyways. read more
