    The 20lb Challenge
    Stephanie S.

Why join a gym when you can join a community? This is the first place that working out is fun! You will get fit, loose weight, decrease body fat %, or any other goal that you might see it for yourself and your health journey. The difference between here and other gyms is that you meet a group of people who support and cheer you on through your entire fitness journey. This is not just a place to go for a challenge, though it is amazing if you got an extra 20 to shed. It is a place you can work out, make friends, and join a community of people who don't care what you end goal is... they just look forward to showing up each day and seeing your face.

I started the 6 week challenge today!

Great staff, excellent instructors, challenging classes, do what you can do. In a matter of a short time you'll feel much stronger and you'll Want to challenge yourself more each day. I loved the classes and the program. It's a great way to start the day...full of energy!

The Camp is solid. This of course is just one of many The Camp locations. I signed up for the one closest to my house which is the Westminster location. Signing up was fairly easy. Called in to make an appointment few days before New Years. When I walked in the front desk receptionist helped discuss the different types of challenges they provided, I chose the lose 5% body fat in 6 weeks challenge as I felt like I didn't have 20lbs to lose. Luckily the challenge started a few days after New Years, but the receptionist gave me a free 1 week pass to let me "test" out the workouts to prepare myself. Went to an orientation the day before I started the challenge which was approximately 2 hours and presented by the owner Todd. He was a BIG guy (ex body builder). Gave us the run down of the different suppliements they had which would help during the challenge as well as our meal plan (which is definitely the most important). He also went over the rules of the challenge that we needed to complete. The orientation pretty much covers everything you need to know in order to succeed. Then the first day of my challenge started. Mind you I haven't worked out in over 8 months due to laziness & a newborn. These HIIT exercises are intense! Even at the end of the challenge it's still pretty intense. Long story short, I did "cheat" a few meals but followed the diet and worked out hard/did the extra lifting outside The Camp and ended losing more than the 5% body fat! This is definitely is a lose as much as you put into it type gym. Don't expect to lose a lot if you don't put in the effort (that's any gym though). Anyway it is a proven model and I can guarantee it. Only con to the whole gym is that it's mostly all carpet so with the sweat dripping from everyone it does get kind of gross at times but overall can't complain.

21of30 Upper body with Jesse TC Today was a very stressful day, first day of school, Isaiah not feeling to hot, but now seems a lot better, however the one good thing is that I lost another 3LBS this week and I'm only 1.8 pounds away from hitting my goal and just at my half way mark! So why not push for a new goal of 20LBS! #letsdothisaff #week3 #TonyTCLane #westmintercamp

The Camp has been a Great sweaty experience for me. :) Was able to get to my goal weight and surpass that as well. The trainers are very motivational and keep you going for the 45 to 50 minutes each workout. Cannot wait to see what else I am able to accomplish here with my fitness goals. Just finished my first 20lb weight-loss challenge and lost 23 pounds. Following their meal plan and doing the work outs with them is a big game changer. I would really recommend giving The Camp Transformation Center if you need any assistance with getting help with losing a few pounds or twenty ! Come on! Join us at The Camp

At first, I was a bit hesitant in joining the 6 week challenge. I felt like I wasn't going to be disciplined or motivated enough to accomplish it. Who would have thought that I was going to crush this first challenge by losing 28.8lbs off me. I wouldn't have been able to do so without the help and support of all the trainers and staff at The New West TC. I had a couple bumps throughout the challenge, but everyone kept pushing me and reminding me of my WHY. The weekly weigh-ins help keep me accountable of my progress. Trainers and staff were there by my side to guide me and make sure that I'm going BEAST MODE during the workouts. I love how everyone (staff, trainers, challengers, and members) are so friendly and motivating. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. This is a home away from home and I've gained a new family: AFF! Thank you so much, and I can't wait for round 2!

Week one down, check! Debated joining for months, best decision I have made in years. Fist three (3) days were gnarly, but you just push through, stay focused and keep your eye on your goal (s). UPDATE: Heading into the final week! Worked out five days a week, mostly at 5am, then got walloped with the flu. Have been playing catch up with my work outs ever since. The support from front desk, trainers, to the camp advisor has been nothing short of supportive. They make it a welcoming challenge.... fun at times- but always challenging myself. Tough but doable. Thanks for helping me strive to be a better version of myself

Once again i did a Pick your challenge to tone up a bit by losing 3% body fat. The diet was all good since I have done this before but this time I was much more prepared with recipes that i hadn't tried previously. Each trainer has their own focus to help improve you. My form during workout was weak and the ability to feel it getting stronger was amazing. Witness how my clothes started to fit differently was a big plus. Final weigh in is tomorrow!!! Aiming high. Positive mind positive body!!!

Is this just for weight loss? I'm interested in gaining muscle in a setting similar to what this environment might be providing.

There is different types of workouts. The exercises they give you also help you gain muscle mass. They have a program called hard body just for muscle mass.

The gym was closed for maintenance, yet staff were inside and clearly saw me standing at the door. I knocked multiple times and made it very clear that I just needed a few seconds of assistance. The staff looked directly at me and still chose to ignore me. Being visibly acknowledged and then deliberately dismissed felt insulting, disrespectful, and incredibly frustrating. What made this worse is that the gym appeared open as usual on maps, which caused me--and likely others--to waste time coming in without knowing it was closed. The issue isn't the maintenance closure itself, but the lack of basic human decency and professionalism shown by the staff. I did recover my key the following day (Monday, January 26th) from a different staff member, but that does not excuse the way I was treated. No member should ever be made to feel ignored, humiliated, or invisible. Management seriously needs to address this behavior.

So $107 for 6 weeks. They have an app called Camp onDemand that has everything you need for reaching your fitness goals - nutrition guide, workouts on demand, check ins, messages from a personal trainer checking in on your progress, even blood pressure, Fitbit, Apple Watch, Facebook, instagram etc. It measures your steps as it hooks up to your Health app. It measures sleep. It tracks your sleep. You can post progress photos etc. (see my photos of the app). Super helpful and whoever created it did an amazing job. There are multiple locations in many cities and you can drop in to sister studios for a drop in fee. But your home gym you see the same faces and everyone cheers everyone on. They have weekend meetups at hikes and Spartan race etc. So you are belonging to a community here. People have been helpful in correcting me as I'm a newbie to this type of workout (normally i do yoga or cycling - I love the Peloton). They have 2 cycles bikes here in the back near the bathroom that you can use during open hours. I don't need to use the Peloton app here because they have good workout playlists blasting music as if it were a club. A girl I met here said this place is addicting. It's good to have a healthy addiction that is improving your health and your life and your confidence. There are motivational quotes to help you as you struggle to keep up. I was hurting after a strong leg day and I tried to hop on the treadmill and it wasn't a normal treadmill. I asked the trainer where the easy machines were. She said there weren't any and it's meant to be like that. This place is meant for transformation. There are before and after photos of people's workout journeys. They have contests and keep track of how much weight everyone is losing etc. They have a meal plan service. They sell supplements (they have a supplement of the week). Tony has been great in informing me about the club. Everyone has been super friendly and motivating and they have so much energy and can do things I didn't know I could do. It's great to learn all these new ways to workout and get fit. I'm trying for the 20 lbs in 6 weeks. I'll post an update and let y'all know :) The giant fan on the ceiling is cool too. They have an ice cold water machine (hot water too). Remember to drink your protein shake before a workout. Protein. Hydrate. Collagen for joints. Eat healthy. Bone broth. Vitamins. Nutrients. Limit your processed foods and carbs and fats. They have a scale in the office to weigh yourself on. I'm only on Day 3 so come join me in the next 6 week challenge. They have monthly rates after the challenge of course. Anyways, loud motivating music with great instructors early in the am - workout times are 5am, 6am, 8am and 9am and 5pm, 6pm and 7:25pm. They also have open gym hours. Check out my photos for more information. Come join and let's get fit together for Halloween :)
