Impressive gardens. Parking and getting in and out were a breeze. Exceeded my expectations. Reminded me of parks in Europe. Nice gift shop. Want to come again at night for lights and fountain shows.

One of the most beautiful and diverse garden that the family ever visited. The garden is huge and includes a highly rated restaurant. The garden also has ponds, pools, and a water fountains / light show in the evening. There is the original DuPont house for touring. A building housing a gigantic self playing organ that plays every hour on the hour. Overall, it was worth the price of entry.

Longwood Gardens 29th November 2025 Holiday Evening 7PM We were here during the holidays. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As long time members of the New York Botanical Garden and Wave Hill Gardens in New York, we were blown away by the immense acreage and extensive splendor of Longwood.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Longwood is funded by the DuPont family and is very well organized.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's much to see. Expect to spend at least 2-3 hours enjoying the spectacular array of flora.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We're heading back this summer to see it in another season besides the gorgeous sparkly winter holiday season. Enjoy!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place blew me away. I think it is more gorgeous than NYC's Botanical Gardens.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The thing I noticed immediately was how immaculate the grounds were.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had to visit on one of the hottest days, 91 degrees. Put on your most comfortable walking shoes because there is a lot to cover. I couldn't believe that I actually saw a woman in 4" heels. Wear a hat, sunglasses and lots of sunscreen.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] - [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a 1906 Restaurant for fine dining.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] - The Café offers prepared foods and drinks. - [[HIGHLIGHT]]I think you can book the ballroom for special occasions.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] - [[HIGHLIGHT]]Their gift shop is a must visit before leaving. Beautiful handcrafted items, plants, and bonsais for purchase.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Warning: their indoor areas barely offer any A/C. Only relief I got was in the gift shop. Even The Café didn't have any. It was 2.5 hours from where I live but so worth the drive.

Employees were also very accommodating with any questions and checking in through the gate was a breeze with your scanned ticket. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Be prepared to be amazed and do some walking all day and be sure to have enough memory on your phone for all the pictures you'll end up taking![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] lol

Wife and I went to Longwood Gardens and decided to try the new 1906 restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]First the new area is beautiful and you can see the scenery from the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We decided to sit at the bar and try the starters/apps. We had the smoked olives, mushroom pate, veggie chips and lobster arnechie. Food was fantastic. Staff was so friendly, will definitely be back again. Remember to make reservations for sitting in the room. We were lucky to get seats at the bar

Longwood Christmas is always extremely magical and well put together! Tickets are required this time of year and could be extra for some memberships. No matter the weather, it can be pretty busy! This year's theme was gems, and they were scattered throughout the grounds and conservatory! Lots of jaw, dropping lights, decoration, and flower displays! Longwood also has a higher end cafe with lots of options for everyone! Always a great experience!!!

I Beg Your Garden 1,100-acre public gardens that's considered one of the "premier" horticulture display gardens in the US. It's been open to the public since 1921 thanks to the DuPont family, and welcomes in a whopping 1.6-million(!) visitors annually. The were also recently named "Best Botanical Garden in the US" by USA Today®** reader's poll. The Good: *Despite the popularity, this place never felt crowded because it's so massive. *Be sure to catch one of the water fountain shows, complete with music. *Open year-round *Lots of events so check the calendar before you visit. *Holiday light displays, if you're lucky enough to visit during that time of year. *Lots of indoor gardens, so even on an especially cold or hot day this wouldn't be a bad idea to visit. The Meh: *Kinda out in the middle of nowhere. *Not the cheapest at $32-35/per adults and $17-20/kids (5-18), but more on that in a minute. The Ugly: *Prices fluctuate by date and time. Hint: it's cheaper during the week. Conclusion: Amazing place to visit for plant and nature lovers alike. Highly recommended. **https://longwoodgardens.org/news/press/longwood-gardens-named-best-botanical-garden

Longwood gardens is a must for nature enthusiasts. You'll easily hit 10,000 steps in a visit walking to all six districts . The greenhouse themes went from jungle to desert. One of the star attractions is the main fountain garden. Also worth noting, the well curated bonsai collection. The open meadows and paths through the woods are beautiful, especially in the Fall as you can see the changing leaves. The cafeteria has a variety of foods from soups, sandwiches, salads, even adult beverages. There is also a beer garden on the premises, where live performances take place. Parking was easy where staff guides you from the parking lot to the main entrance. The entire experience is enjoyable and relaxing. I can't wait to go back this Spring!

Hubby accompanied me to A Longwood Christmas. We started with lunch at 1906. We chose the 3-course pre-fixe lunch option. The food and service never disappoint, even though our favorite person, long-time employee Natalie, wasn't working. John did a superb job for a wonderful dining experience. My first day visiting A Longwood Christmas exhibit in January, the last week of the exhibit. I must say Longwood was definitely not as crowded, and I felt like I had time to stop and enjoy all the floral delights and ask questions like how the plants are watered. There are underground hoses in every section, supplying room-temperature water. Even my husband had questions, like about the new conservatory: why are some windows on the roof open? We learned there is an automated system tied to the weather for internal climate control. The displays were still amazing and lovely, even with a few days before closing. And all those poinsettias that are grown just for the exhibit get mulched.

Longwood was *stunning* this year. We weren't able to get tickets the last few years so seeing all the new installments made the even more fabulously festive. It had snowed heavily the day before but everything at longwood was shoveled and salted. Everything looked so beautiful covered in snow, it truly was a winter wonderland! I was a little disappointed that the tree house was closed, but I knew longwood did it out of an abundance of caution since the steps looked extra icy. Parking lots were shoveled as well. There were little drink stations on the route where you could get beer, wine, or hot chocolate. I got the Bailey's hot chocolate and it was FABULOUS. So creamy and chocolate. Not very heavy on the Irish cream part but it was so perfect for the weather. It kept me toasty on the inside until we got to the cafe. I got the citrus glazed salmon entree that came with seasonal veggies and mashed potatoes. I wanted to get the leek and potato soup but they were all out. I bought a festive wintery hard cider which was refreshing and My husband stood in line for 10 min to get me a peppermint spiked hot chocolate that was the icing on the cake! All the exhibits were fabulous, it truly is something you have to see to experience it. I cannot recommend it enough!!

I purchased a college student ticket online, what happens if I forget my student ID? Can I still get in or will I be turned away? We're traveling from over an hour away and we think it might've gotten left at home.

They didn't ask me for ID but if you have picture in your phone proving you are college students ... people works there are very nice

Hi. How long is the typical visit if you want to see most everything? 3-4 hours?

If you race through the main areas and skip the forest walk and the long walk around the meadows, but go through the conservatory, go into the tree houses. and visit the DuPont house (quickly), it'll take two hours. The offerings change a little…

Hi , We drove a Tesla, just wondering is there a super charger station near the park or in the parking lot?

Yes, there are two free charging stations for guests in the visitor center lot - compatible with Tesla, but if you want specifics on volt/amp info, you can check their website.

Hello! Can I have a picnic here with a group of 6?

Hi Martha! Picnicking or bringing in any outside food or beverages (except water) is not permitted. However, we do provide a Picnic Area (open seasonally), outside the main grounds, for the convenience of our guests. Please use the Picnic Area…

    Are dogs allowed?

Hi Holly, thanks for reaching out! Pets are not permitted in the Gardens, nor are there provisions to temporarily house them during a visit. Please do not leave pets in your car in the parking lot during warm weather since shade is minimal. Properly…

Can you walk into the tulips? Want to take pictures of my daughter. Also do you need permission to take pictures?

Hi Rob! You cannot walk into the tulip beds but we do have paths between the beds in our Trial Garden display. You may take photos in our Gardens for your own personal use, but we do not allow props, equipment, outfit changes, etc. See here for more…

How SPECTACULAR is it this week and next week. Is it better to wait a bit for better blooms, more stuff?

Every year is different due to the weather, and even then it can change on a dime. I would call them directly (610) 388-1000 and get through to a live person and ask, or contact them on facebook. They are normally very good about customer service.…

Do they still have a children's garden?

yes the do and it is awesome, you should check out their fountain show as well

What is the price for tickets?

    $20

Everyone at the theater is so welcoming, and we walked in without a wait or any lines for the restrooms. So, what was the problem? Some audience members were out of control and/or intoxicated. Thankfully, we were on the second level, but right in front of us on the first level, we witnessed two fights. One started when one of the audience members who was visibly under the influence kept standing and holding up his beer. At one point, I believe he spilled beer on a patron and a fight ensued. The unhappy couple who had the beer spilled on them walked out, and no one from the theater came over to handle the situation. Shortly thereafter, another man from the same group started yelling at a woman who was seated. He stood over her wildly gesturing as if ready to strike her while a patron seemed to try to grab his arm from behind. Audience members kept looking back to see if anyone was going to address this situation. By the way, this all happened during the show which was extremely distracting and distressing. Finally, the theater manager came over to escort the man and his friends away. However, the man came back and tried to go back to his seat. Again, he had to be escorted away. If the theater is going to continue to serve alcohol, they will need to hire security particularly during shows similar to this one--and not just a theater manager. This is needed to keep their audience members safe and to continue to ensure a quality experience.

It's pretty incredible that most of these people have full time jobs and dedicate a summer to this. They do an awesome job with sets, costumes, and singing! It's cute how excited kids get and they often have a meet and greet with the actors after the show. Pro tip: wait till the week of and check the weather before you buy tickets because if the show is rained out you can't get a refund and they might not decide until a half hour after the show, after delaying it several times (this happened last year) and you might not be able to make the rain date.
