BMW of North Canton - Service - BMW Plug and Go Charging

BMW of North Canton - Service

I received an email from BMW that my BMW i4 is now eligible for the Plug & Charge feature. To get…read morestarted, bring your vehicle to your local BMW Center for the complimentary Plug & Charge software upgrade. I made an appointment at my local dealership Got there and was told (by Chris) they (North Canton BMW) wasn't doing a $300 upgrade just because of an email. Service person (Chris) said this was my 2 year complimentary charging at Electrify America. Obviously this person (Chris) has no clue what complimentary software upgrade is! I left and called BMW's concierge asking about the upgrade. They said my vehicle was eligible for the software upgrade. I called back to NC BMW stating the information I received from BMW. Service person (Chris) said to send original emails to the service manager (Vernon) which I did. I also followed up with service manager (Vernon) and he said he would call me back. No call back in a week. I also found a link to BMW's website making reference to the Plug and Charge eligibility. And indeed my vehicle is eligible for the upgrade. I followed up with a second email to the NC BMW service manager (Vernon) with the Plug and Charge eligibility link to BMW's website. Once again no reply! I've purchased numerous vehicles from this dealership and I don't appreciate being ghosted. Since the ownership change of this dealership the quality of customer service is totally unacceptable. I will NEVER buy another vehicle from this dealership. Nor will I recommend anyone buying and having their vehicle serviced at this dealership.

If I could give them a zero I would. I took the car in for water in the battery compartment,…read morerequiring a tow in for service. A service bulletin was out and the car would not start. Service writer took all the info so I thought and all was in good hands. I was wrong. He calls back and says its the tail light seal after testing, shorted the battery cable and a sensor. He then up sells me a belt and tensioner. I take care of my cars. He quotes a price ok go ahead. He talks me out of having them program a new key for me that I wanted as well....what???? I arrive to pick up the car. I go to the trunk and it looks like the mechanic made the repair and just left. Trim panel off. Good thing he did cuz I caught the water still in the battery compartment. Turns out they changed all the electrical parts never did a water test so the source was never identified. Why would I pay to fix parts that shorted out without identifying and fixing the source. Service manager comes out, Mr Howdy duty on wheels. Tells me they intentionally leave the car as they found it. R u crazy. It was towed in for a no start and the battery.......offers other costs to water test and make the rest of the repairs. This has to be the worst bmw dealer I have ever been to. They are pure idiots. Avoid this place at all costs.

I put in a diagnostic request for my mother in law's 2009 Kia Rondo. She doesn't have much money,…read moreso I was hoping to try and save her some money. I had to have a tow truck it to her address due to it not wanting to start in Park, I found out though that the shifter was very stiff as well and would only move when I used the bypass button. I couldn't get it to start but the tow truck driver showed me that it would start in neutral using the bypass switch and shift into gear but when in park it would still move. So, we didn't want to risk driving it to her house and so we had it towed. The tow truck driver said any mechanic should be able to fix that for you with no problem. So, I called Adkins that evening, and he diagnosed it the next day. He said, he tore the whole console apart, even tested the neutral safety switch but it was seized and couldn't be moved out of neutral. He told me it starts but will not shift. I was told the rod was welded internally within the transmission. I thanked him for his time and effort and he was paid by my mother in law. We'll, then myself and a friend came over and found the shifter was indeed froze in neutral, but after we re-tore the console back apart, and diagnosing it ourself we got it to shift. Took it to a transmission shop, who said this is not a transmission problem at all. We were told to take it to a mechanic and that it's either in the shifter itself or the cable, but definitely nothing to do with the transmission. The mechanic from Adkins confirmed over and over that he's torn many of these apart and he knows his stuff when it comes to vehicles. The question is, then why did he not diagnose the issue correctly and refer me to a transmission shop who then sent me back to a mechanic. I got the shifter out of neutral but he couldn't. He said he tested the neutral safety switch but it didn't look like it had been touched. I'm just saying, I will never trust this company to touch another vehicle of mine. Didn't seem to know as much as he claimed. Did not give a correct diagnosis and still took my mother in laws money. You decide what's right or if you would trust this mechanic.
