THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!!!!! DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!! After viewing these apartments my Fiancé and I decided that this would be a good place for us to move into. We placed our deposit down for 250 dollars on 6/17/18. I made the mistake of not looking at Yelp first before we put down the deposit. As we were leaving I decided to see what Yelp had to say about this place and I was taken back at how negative the feedback was. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED KRYSTAL (who we had been working with) and cancelled our deposit. She let me know that the payment transfer was already on it's way to corporate because it was via credit card and assured me that in 21 days we would receive a check in the mail. I trusted that this would be the case seeing as how we literally called AN HOUR after we left to cancel. It is now 7/19/18. We called "the cape" office and they told us to call corporate to find out where our check was .after several attempts to have someone call us back from corporate we finally were able to speak to Natalia who let us know that KRYSTAL had not told them we were no longer moving into the cape and we were still set to move in. I'm furious at how this situation has turned out . The lack of unprofessionalism and complete deceitfulness this company has shown is unacceptable. I feel bad for anyone who doesn't read these reviews before moving in. BIG MISTAKE. read more

He is so personable and helpful in handling everything quickly, efficiently, and he always does it with a smile. The maintenance staff is great as well. There was an agreement for new carpet, not done and told "no, too bad" after constantly asking about it. Lies about deep cleaning of carpet, but was never done. Absolutely filthy and MOLD when it was pulled up. They lose your checks and make it your fault. Maintenance does whatever they what, whenever they want, with as shoddy work as they feel like. Usually starting from 6-7am any day of the week and ending whenever they feel like it, even if it's 9-10pm. Gate doesn't work half of the time. Same with pool area. Half of the washers & dryers are always out of order. Lease says no smoking in common areas, no one cares. Lease says dogs must be on a leash outside, no one cares. Lease says to pick up your dog's poop, no one cares. Lease says management needs your agreed-to permission to enter apartment, it is not followed. The city itself has set noise ordinance time frame, no one cares. Walls and other things that need to be painted are not properly cleaned, sanded, and primed leading to constant peeling paint with such things as hairs, staples, nails (metal and human nails!), and bugs right under the paint. Cracks only get painted over, not patched up. Mold issue in one room corner from the rain. 2nd floor balconies are on the verge of collapsing, same with the bathroom light units. Management is hit and miss with responding timely or at all. Anyone has full range of the parking inside of the gates as they please, but registered resident cars are the ones that get towed. Maintenance/construction/trucks/other cars, you name it, will block your car in or block you out. No one cares. Asserting what's in the signed lease and your renter rights and you're automatically blacklisted. Paper thin between units. Flies and spiders are normal, but rats in the walls and cockroach infestations are not. No one cares. Pipes are so old, there's frequent plumbing issues. No one cares. Wiring is so old that cable tv/internet can't get a decent signal or speed. Front doors are so warped, they barely fit in the frame and refuse to be replaced. High office turnover rate. If you're worried about what neighbors think about you, don't. The ones talking behind your back freely and violating your privacy is the management office. Landlords would rather spend money on parties, food trucks, and unqualified maintenance workers instead of on outdated and broken property that desperately needs it. There's an older lady that sweeps out a large area of the block and she does 1000% better than any of those maintenance guys. Give her money for that work. Trash area is disgusting, filthy, and run-down with large items left out for weeks. No warnings for any shutoffs or inspections ahead of time. Management, don't even bother trying to write up a follow-up. If you actually cared, you would have responded a long time ago when you have been previously contacted. Trying to do so now is too little, too late. You can talk to me when you refund me and other residents for the months of lost sleep, failing health from lack of sleep and stress, aggravated asthma treatment, and rent overcharging with dangerous misrepresentations of "luxury". read more

This has been a long time coming. I've lived here at The Cape for more than 10yrs + give or take. I've never had any issues with management or with the workers trying to keep our community clean. They've always been receptive to my request since day 1. I've been living in my new unit for almost a year and with that there's a new team in the front. Tiffany is the property manager and she's been extremely professional and very helpful. Juan and Andrew are a great team and my wife and I appreciate all their efforts trying to maintain The Cape. Their friendly and extremely attentive to everyone. Which is why I'd recommend living here at The Cape to anyone. read more

I've lived at The Cape for 5 months now and honestly, I'm so happy with my decision. I moved here all the way from Pennsylvania and my options came down to was this place and South Point. I was looking for something that was quiet, well maintained, and had community service around the clock. I think I'm coming from having bad experiences with the cleanliness of my last apartment complex, I'm so relieved the staff takes our requests so seriously. If I ever see something on walk path or whatever, all it takes is calling Scott and he'll make sure someone takes care of it. Also, Juan is so nice and he's always there to help even if he's busy with something else. Oh, I also love the pool :) it was so hard to find a place with a pool that was well kept. read more

Giving one star because I can't give zero stars. terrible management and property maintenance. I complained so many times about the noisy A/C, they said there was nothing they could do about it. I could never sleep with it on. These are older apts that have not been updated properly. When I moved they charged me for $100 carpet cleaning and $125 bathroom stain removal. I was only there 2 months and stains were there before I moved in, give me a break. He carpet was brand new, I am not that filthy, ridiculous! There's also the $2 a load for laundry (no in apt. washer/dryers). This place is such a rip off in SO many ways. You should avoid this place at all costs unless of you like getting ripped off or you like the sound of low flying police copters every night. Not a safe place to call home. Many immigrants here. Steer clear of the place is my only advice. I moved on a life is much better. read more

This was without question the most poorly run complex I have ever lived in. They were constantly cycling through new employees and no one ever took any sort of notes at all. As best I can tell the only redeeming feature of any of them was that they looked nice in a suit. Any time we had an issue we were constantly having to explain the situation all over again to someone new who had no clue what was going on. And every single time we did, we were told that they would "talk to corporate" and that we'd "receive a call back." This would be followed by absolutely no follow up whatsoever from the Cape or the property management company. In the two years we stayed there we had a plumbing issue that cause the toilet to completely drain and sewage to leak onto the sidewalk in front of our apartment through an exposed drainage pipe and a leak in one of our bedrooms that flooded the area near a window every single time we got a moderate to hard rain. The only way I got ANYTHING done was when I eventually wrote a letter pointing out that by law those issues rendered the property uninhabitable and threatening to sue them, at which point they shockingly became a lot more organized and responsive. However, even then, they would only address the problem in the most cursory way for the most part. They would call and promise it would be fixed as soon as they could get an outside vendor to the apartment, but then never follow up on what if anything was actually done. In most cases with the leak, they'd just send someone out to clean the carpet and replace the pad, but never did anything to stop the leak itself. At one point towards the end of the first year they did finally send a crew out and claimed to have fixed it, but then a few months later when we started to get hard rains again, the leak was back. The best answer they ever came up with was to stick a tarp on the roof of the building, despite the fact that the leak was very clearly coming from closer to the floor boards and our apartment being on the first floor of a two story building. Thank god California was in the middle of a historic drought for most of our time here. Right before we moved out, we'd also learned that the building we were in had been leaking since long before we even moved in (which meant legally they never should have rented it to us in the first place until the problem was fixed), so good luck to whoever gets that apartment next. I can guarantee nothing's actually been done to fix it. The "security" they claim to have for the complex is also a complete joke. It's easy to get into the complex without a key or gate clicker, the gate is broken and left open a good 25-30% of the time, and there are no security cameras or staff at all (there's a building at the front of the complex that you would think would be staffed by someone, but unless he's a ghost it never is). At one point my car and several others were broken into during the night, and I couldn't even get the front office to loan me a shop vac to clean up the broken glass. There were also multiple instances of clothes being stolen from the laundry room, despite those rooms allegedly having cameras. We also had issues with an upstairs neighbor who would constantly have loud parties and blare music at 2-3 AM during the middle of the weak, and when I called the alleged "24 hour on sight security" I got a towing company that couldn't do anything to address the issue. All and all I can't recommend against living here enough. Don't be fooled by the pretty landscaping, it's an absolute disaster in every possible way. read more

Amazing residence! I lived at the Cape for over two years and my experience was the best. The property was always super clean, and within walking distance of a park, the movie theater at South Coast Metro and South Coast Plaza mall. Even though it was located right off the 405, it is a very quiet and cozy community. The staff there was even better. Any maintenance request was immediately completed with no questions asked. Everyone was super friendly and always there to listen with a smile. Scott, Alex, Ashley and Felicia felt like family by the end! They even helped me with a lease take-over when we had to relocate. So, this apartment is not so bad, but is not so good. I mean it's ok for living, cozy enough and guys from leasing office are nice and helpful. I know people says different things here about this apartment. I used to live here for 1 year and it was not bad experience. Maintenance always helps very fast. Really good location! Going on my 2nd year here and really love it at the Cape. The units are really nice and The WHOLE office staff is amazing. (Major improvement from the original staff from the day I moved in.) Just transferred from a one bedroom to a 2 bedroom and The manager ,Scott , made the whole process easy, breezy, and took great care of us. The renewal and transition has been such a positive experience. Im not the easiest customer in the world and had many questions and made many phone calls to them. Scott and Alex have been a pleasure to work with and my 4 year old just loves these guys so much. I also want to give a shout out to the maintenance team. They are so quick to fix any problem you might have. The park behind the complex is awesome too. Great place to live with a kid! The landscape is beautiful and the apartment complex is clean. My boyfriend and I love The Cape and have lived here for an accumulative time of almost 4 years! We moved here many years ago, lived here for 1 year, left and regretted it. We came back years later and are coming up on our 3rd consecutive year living here come March 2019 and we are so glad we came back. Scott is an excellent manager and took a bad situation of our A/C breaking down this summer and had it replaced as quickly as possible. Although the timing wasn't ideal - he made sure we were aware he understood our situation and was doing all that he could that was in his and his teams control to make sure we were taken care of. Most importantly, he heard us out. He didn't dismiss us and in fact made a bad situation, better. All is resolved and We are so happy living here. We enjoy using the pool all the time too! This complex is beautiful and the people here are very friendly too. It is a joy to come home after a long day to our place. We are grateful for the time here and look forward to the upcoming holidays here as well! read more

Maaaaaaaaan let me tell you guys ..... we had 3 days left to move out and find a new place so needless to say it was high stress and super critical. Then my roommate told me about The Cape at first i was like ehhhhhhh idkkkkkk and then he mentioned that one of the employees, Ashli Cope, was like "IM GONNA FIGHT TO GET YOU GUYS IN HERE". So i had to come check it out and see this energy that he was talking about and oh boy this establishment did not disappoint. Ashli really was at war with whoever she needed to be with to get us in this place, when normally a situation like this is almost impossible. She's is beyond great, and with other employees like Alex, Scott, George, Diane, and the maintenance guys it has been super easy to transition into a new living arrangement in a very stressful time and I'm truly appreciative of all them and their hard work. SO IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A NEW PLACE TO LIVE YOU NEED TO GIVE ASHLI AND THE CAPE A CALL THEY HAVE GOT YOU !! Not to mention the apartments are absolutely beautiful !! Newly renovated, modern looks, 2 laundry rooms, a pool, and a park that seems lowkey exclusive to the residents, and not to mention they have FOOD TRUCK NIGHTS !! It started and ended with the professional folks at the leasing office, who were always helpful with our questions and requests. The few times we had maintenance requests, the items were repaired or replaced in a timely manner. Overall, we enjoyed the comfort and convenience of living at The Cape. -My car has been hit 3 times, while being parked in my parking space, and 6 of my relatives/friends had their cars hit while visiting. -Bike has been stolen from front porch (with lock on it) -Gardeners using blowers cover my car, along with everyone elses cars with dust/dirt, tree trimmings AT LEAST once a week, to the point that you need to go to the gas station to clean off your windshield in order to see. -Tables and chairs stolen from front porch -Friends car was towed from visitor parking, and was only parked there for 2 hours, NOT overnight, resulting in a $250 tow fee because The Cape called to have the car towed. Why you ask?? That is what I am trying to find out, but all I get is the runaround, excuses, or them saying that I must have been parked illegally etc. -for 7 months, I had a prostitute living above me, and would bring in 4 different guys, on average per night, and yes, you could hear everything going on. -Lights and power outlets in the house continuously fail -Constant parties going on since there are designated apartments here for "Dorm" rooms for the local college. This is a HORRIFIC place to live. Every waking moment I am here, I feel like I am being ripped off, and have no choice to get out since I signed a 1 year lease. Alright, so I'm not usually a negative person but everything about the cape makes me one! I never thought I would write a bad review or any review on yelp, but here I am...this place is unbelievably shady. Do not ever move here!!!! Ok so let's start out with how over priced these old, ghetto shoebox sized apartments are....I can not believe how much they rent these apartments out for, I knew it was going to be a long year when we signed our lease...we were supposed to get 12 months at $150 off/month, but the chick who did our paperwork wrote $200 off for only 9 months and even though its the same total year discount it just feels better to pay only 1205 for a year than 1165 for 9 months and 1365 for the last 3 months. Anyways..moving on... The office staff is always changing and they're not very friendly or welcoming, my boyfriend hated going down to drop off the rent check every month because the girls in the office would either make some rude comment to him or give him an evil stink eye stare. And when he went down to give our 30 day notice he was attacked with questions as to why we were moving, ok I understand theanagement would like to know why you're leaving the complex but its all about the delivery! Uuggghhh Ok so over the year we lived there things were always breaking, first it was the stove that took them almost a week to fix and after a few hours of trying to ghetto rig it they finally decided to take the "new" stove from the empty apartment next to us and shove it into the space where our stove goes...it didn't really fit, but they jammed it in anyways (so there was a huge ugly gap by the breakfast bar) , then our dishwasher stopped getting dishes clean but they said nothing was wrong with is so we had to just live with the crappy useless dishwasher, and constantly the bathroom light would stop working...it would take a good 10 minutes to turn on or sometimes it wouldn't turn on at all (every time we would put in an order it would work ok for about a day then go back to its old trusty flickering). There were always silverfish running around the apartment no matter how clean we kept it, so gross! The complex is really loud, people would be driving around late at night blasting their radio and the garage underneath us would open and close every night at midnight or 1am. People would be out on their balcony at all hours of the night talking so loud you would swear they were inside your apartment. Then if the leaf blower doesn't wake you up bright and early, someone is guaranteed to be blasting some music to get you up and out of bed. And the most ridiculous thing about this place, the thing that made me decide to write this review was after opening our deposit refund it was a check for $14. They totally screw you out of every penny when it comes to your deposit. My boyfriend and I spent 3 hours deep cleaning the apartment after we moved out but we still were charged $70 for cleaning. I understand that every apartment needs to be painted after each tenant but being charged $90 to paint a 600sqft apartment PLUS $47.50 for materials is insane!!! Then we were charged $60 for carpet cleaning/repair and an additional $50 for a small bleach stain, even though about 3 weeks after moving in sooooo many stains poped up from the previous people who lived there...there were a few other small charges that I understand but I can not believe how much they take from your deposit on standard turnover procedures...I've lived in a few different places and not only have I gotten more back in all of ky deposits but I have never left an apartment so clean! Overall the only thing this complex has going for it is location, but there are plenty of other apartment complexes around that area and I'm sure at least one of them is better and probably less expensive than the cape. I really tried to stay positive and enjoy living there but sadly I can not say one good thing about this place. Take it from me, you do NOT want to live here!!!!! read more

WHAT A JOKE, It looks beautiful from the outside and the location is great, but when you move in you will find out how cheap( not the inexpensive cheap) this place really is. The appliances in the kitchen are falling apart. BUT THE MOST FRUSTERATING THING IS THEY WILL TOW YOUR CAR. MY husband and I took over a lease and when sighning the papers they never told us about having to have a parking pass nor a parking spot. After 2 months parking in the lot my car was towed I was forced to pay $230.00 to have my car released. After going to the office and telling them that they never told us about the parking pass. They told us it was our problem and they have no responsibility for the tow. They had us contact corporate office wich we did and left several messages with no returned calls back. Very unprofessional. Along with alot of pregnant asian women running around and staying here to give birth to have their children become u.s citizen's. This place is Not worth the money nor the time. The complex looks good, well maintained, the apatments are pretty big for the inexpensive price you pay. BUT once you move in everything changes litterally new people in the leasing office all the time, you never see the same face twice, maintenance guys are very nice but slow I always had to call in a work order 3 times! Literally the next day I moved in the toilet over flood and was so bad it leaked all the way to my bedroom ruining anything on the floor because it happened at 7:30 pm and the office was closed and no after hours help. My car was parked Insides the gates of the cape and the next morning it got hit and the person put a huge black scratch across my white car and didnt leave any of their information costing me 500 to fix! My roommates car got egged like 3 times and my boyfriends car was parking in our marked car port and his car got egged and when I told the management MARY she said "oh maybe you have someone that doesn't like you!" really who says that, and she didn't care to help me with the issue because I was the only one who had complained to her!!! AND OH MAN IS THE TOWING BAD!!!! I lived there and the tow truck accidently towed me I didn't have to pay anything but what a pain to have to go down to the tow company to get my car, my friends car got towed twice she was litterally parked inside the gate for and hour no her car was not registered byt still and hour, another friend had to pay a drop fee of 100 dollars just a pin in the ass. Worse experience ever I had moved half of my stuff out of the cape and literally didn't want to go back to get the rest it was that bad and honestly it might have been better if the management MARY didn't thing she was the queen of the cape and actually helped people when they had an issue, she was the worse part about this place I would never rent from an arnel property again worst customer service ever! Beware even putting down a holding deposit here! I paid the application fee plus the $200 refundable holding deposit to put a hold on an apartment, I cancelled it within the time frame and they said they would send me my refund and I should get it in a couple weeks. It's been 8 weeks. I've contacted their office 4 times and contacted the corporate number they gave me, where the lady does not answer her phone or return her messages. This is unacceptable. I am now disputing the charge on my credit card. It's a shame because the people who work in the on location front office are very nice and probably have no control over how the refunds are processed, but their corporate office is a joke. read more

Plenty of parking but they'll love to tow your car! My fiancé just got home from deployment and in the midst of moving his things in I misplaced his parking pass. It hasn't been an issue all week until today. I should have went up to the office and ordered a new one sooner but it still doesn't make it okay that they towed it this evening despite the fact they have license plate info of all their renters. The bail amount to get our car back is almost 400$ which is complete bullshit! No warning or anything. I could understand if this complex was tight on parking spaces but it's not and there was absolutely no reason for them to ruin our day today. My fiancé doesn't get home for another week and we just paid rent and don't have 400$ to give to someone who's sitting back getting a big kick out of this. All the people who got their cars towed today live here!!! Hahah Thats the funny part. Jokes on us huh? Oh and to add on to today's fiasco I'll just let you know a few things that I was upset about recently. When I moved in they told me I'd have new carpet and the patio would be cleaned off. Well it wasn't. I had water pressure and temperature issues upon move in and had to have maintenance come out and fix it. The pressure is okay now but my water is really hot. They put a notice on my door that they would enter my apt to test my smoke detector and I wrote back for them to come in after 2:30 so I could be here while they entered my apt and instead they came anyways and never called or said anything about it and a little over a week later my smoke alarm started to randomly go off! Don't think just because this complex has a gate that your car will be safe inside either because they have gardeners who don't give a rats ass about your car. I've watched them numerous times walking in between cars with their blowers and blowing all the bark and dirt all over everyone's car. What's the point of having a nice car? I complained to some guy in the office and he made me feel like I was stupid for complaining about it. Did he do anything about it or apologize? Nope. Well I hope the front end of our new car is alright. I don't know how they got it out of here with the emergency break on. I see there's someone else in the same spot right now with no pass as well and they're not getting towed. Hmm seems like we might have a civil suit coming up if they don't take care of this issue for us because this is not how you treat your tenants. We pay way too much money for this crap. I feel sorry for my neighbor because her carport was blocked today by construction workers and she had no choice but to park in one of the many open spots and they towed her car too. read more

Pretty lousy experience living here. I would highly advise someone considering The Cape to look elsewhere, so they don't have to go through the same experience my family and I did. I lived her for two years and would have left sooner, but my family and I could not find the time to move with how busy we were at work, kids, etc... I had many many issues with The Cape during my stay. Arnel Mgmt does its best to not put a penny into their apartments. All of the appliances in our apartment were OLD and kept having issues. So, maintenance would come by over and over trying to repair appliances that clearly needed to be replaced because they had not been since 1970. If you don't go into the office and show how upset you are, they will NOT replace any appliances. They will just keep sending maintenance to try and repair something that is clearly beyond repair. I had several experiences where maintenance then admitted to me they had no training and no idea what they were doing. WHAT?!?!?! This blew my mind... Laundry rooms often smell like mold, because mgmt doesn't know that you need to keep washing machines open in order for them to dry. This is simple, basic stuff that a decent apartment complex would handle. When you go into the rental office, you may think...hmm, they seem nice. Yes, they are friendly. But, they are incompetent. The Cape staff will tell you anything to get you to leave so they can get back to chatting with each other. They will lie to your face, with a smile. Then, when you come back to discuss what the promised, they will lie again, claiming to have never said that. This clearly comes from top down. There is no doubt that Arnel Mgmt trains them this way. Just call Arnel Mgmt HQ and try to deal with them...whoooo lord, you are in for some lying shenanigans! I wish there was more I could do to warn people to STAY AWAY FROM THE CAPE, but all I can do is write this Yelp review and report them to the BBB and maybe I can find some other review sites to warn others on. I've only been here since June of 2016. it is September 1st today, So I'm going to try to give a fair enough review of this place being a new comer here. To start off with the good there is a community park literally behind to the apartments, there is a gate that leads into the park making the apartments a plus to live here. We are right next to crystal Court (the small Mall crossing the bridge to South Coast Plaza), there's Metro point in front of the apartments. There is an overflow for parking meaning extra parking,a gate that leads into the that lot. The pool is nice, they have a Jacuzzi as well ..there's a gazebo area and plenty of pool lounge chairs (very relaxing), and a room in the pool area which you can rent out for social events. The apartment complex layout is pretty nice there are lots of trees, you can walk around and talk on your cell phone feels like you're in a park-like community. The office ladies are friendly and easygoing and make living here pretty enjoyable. Rose, Crystal, and Jasmine were the best from the get go. I see they all try to make the best that they can and I really appreciate that. And well basically all of the negative reviews are kind of true, but I didn't get an old stove in my unit. these units are really not luxury apartments. Their outdated... The carpet gives off that old smell... I always prefer hard wood flooring. I pay $2100+ a month two bedroom 2 bath. (Mind you my apartment is located in a nice spot in the complex)I have also found bugs and spiders and critters in my apartment, I also have a list of maintenance issues that need to be looked at and pretty much have but its still not up to par for paying $2100+ a month. Not to mention that my laundry hamper got stolen in the laundry room and by which I contacted the office to ask if they have a surveillance camera and their response was no said but I have seen a camera or one of those "so called" cameras..you know pho ones that have a black dome around them. And to top it off like the last negative review, she is spot-on about those leaf blowers, living in a park like apartment complex is nice but with their upkeep of it, I want to run off somewhere else. Everyday and I mean every day in the morning or afternoon those leaf blowers or grass cutters are always going off making it impossible to have any kind of sleep or afternoon nap or just enjoy your day. (And their at work for about a few hours on some days more than others) so That is what really gets me annoyed about living here. Granted, apartment living might not be the ideal situation, it's not for me but for the time being this is where I'm at . Realistically I'm paying for location and I know it, I'm living here with family. it would be a better apartment if it were modern to match the price and location. but those leaf blowers... Man!!. that's got to go!!, that's a deal-breaker.God willing I'm going to be looking for a house come the end of my lease. (Side note though... it was a shame that the apartment that I'm in, does not match the apartment model that they show you before renting here, there are some slightly better changes in the model apartment. and there is no gym, which is a bummer cus I need my gym time, my work schedule is already crazy enough.) Office staff are horrible!!! They pretend they are concerned and will lie in front of your face that the job will get done. Once you are gone they take forever to get it done. You have to be standing in front of them demanding they get it done. Fortunately, maintenance staff is better at getting things done on time and following up on requests. The noise level really depends on who are your surrounding neighbors(blame your inconsiderate neighbors not the staff) . I doubt the office staff will do anything about it though. By no means is this place "luxury"! Its decent but not luxurious so please don't portray your community as luxurious when the appliances in the buildings are from the 90's. They try to reel in prospective renters by keeping the landscape well manicured but leaving the buildings in "okay" conditions. One star because of location. I give them 2 stars because most of the office staff are fairly nice. and the place is pretty quiet. 1. check all the drawers etc and make sure they work. 2. you are going to get screwed on the way out...in my opinion. I mean if you paint the counter, is it really me fault if there are some surface scratches? I don't think bathroom counters are made to be painted. And by law, they have to show up and let you know what needs to be fixed so you can do it, if requested. Nope. and what was left of my deposit was not sent to the address I left on my move out letter. So, I'm still trying to get the measly amount back. Other than that, awesome! read more

I am really surprised by the ratings on this place, but my roommate and I moved here in January and just simply love it! parking is great and they also have a over flow parking right next to the apartments. Everything is super close, and the movie theater is right across the street as so the mall! my neighbors are very nice and the maintenance people are awesome we had an issue with our plugs and they came to fix it right away. I feel very safe here and can walk around the a night with no worries. I am very close to work and the 405 is right next to us. Also the best thing is that the walls are thick! my last place the walls were very thin! read more

The Cape is a great place to live!. It is walking distance from South Coast Plaza, restaurants, movie theater, etc. There are many wonderful things about this development. Everyone from the leasing office to the maintenance department are exceptional. They are responsive, and bend over backwards to assist anyway they can, all with graciousness and kindness and a huge smile. First I like to say that the Cape Apartments is a awesome place to live. Its a very professional atmosphere and has a really nice park with tons of guest parking. I referred my best friend to live here and she got a great deal on her apartment. She loves it here too! Jake Novella the Leasing Director and his team did a fantastic job working with her. I also got $200 bucks for referring my friend to the Cape! Jake really took care of us for sure and is a true professional. The management and maintenance team are always on their game. I have lived at The Cape for a year now, and I only have great things to say. The management is incredible. They are very prompt and make themselves available for the residents. Parking has never been an issue, which that in itself is a good enough reason to live here. It's basically unheard of to find an apartment complex in Costa Mesa with a good parking situation, and it has been so nice to not have to worry where guests will park. I'm not sure what kind of management they used to have but the management they now have is stellar. Jake took care of everything we needed and in very little time. I wanted a clicker that could open the gate from the apartment--DONE. We needed a few small repairs in the apartment-- DONE. Friendly and genuine staff in the office. Parking is amazing because there is an entire guest lot right next to the apartment complex. Plus you can walk 20 ft and you are at Metro Pointe/South Coast Plaza. I literally have nothing bad to say about this place. Also, me and my brother were moving in a refrigerator and 2 gentlemen stopped what they were doing and helped us get it upstairs to my apartment. Wow. I never leave yelp reviews but because I saw so many bad ones I felt I had to step in and say something. I love living here! read more

This place is beautiful & located in a great area next to the freeway and South Coast plaza. The leasing office staff are wonderful and almost made me feel like family! I worked with Adele who was so kind and patient with me. I felt that she truly listened to my needs and was available for me ( and answered all my neurotic question.) I feel lucky to have worked with her! I unfortunately was not able to move there st this time but I highly recommend Adele or any of the super kind staff to help you find your ideal home!! read more

Despite all the bad reviews, my experience here since May 1st 2015 has been really pleasant..Jake and the staffs have been very attentive to any request or concern we've had so far.
