Super fun coffee shop! Love all the history of the wood! Didn't even know some of the wood existed! Coffee was good! Service is great! Sandwiches are tasty just on the soggier side cuz they must be microwaved to be warmed up. Great views and lots of seating in different areas!

Decent coffee, but way overpriced for what you're getting. It's more expensive than a lot of the places around here that make their own syrups, etc. Plus you can pretty much replicate any of the drinks at home easily with the basic coffee syrups at the store. I do enjoy meeting people there because it is very cute inside. I definitely don't avoid their coffee but I do think is a little expensive. The people there are always nice and friendly.

Such a darling little coffee spot with unique and delicious drinks. We had a white chocolate lavender cold brew and the sunrise latte. Both drinks were delicious! Definitely will come back to this coffee spot again!

I always have a good experience here. This quaint little coffee shop sells local art and hand-made wood products like cutting boards and coat racks. They also sell their favorite brew by the pound. It's the perfect little place to help you pause the workday, take a deep breath, and cozy up with a sandwich and a cuppa joe. I appreciate their non-dairy milk options (love me some oat milk), and their bakery items are scrumdiddlyumptious. Did I mention outdoor seating among a beautiful garden of dahlias and petunias? Okay so the semis roaring down 585 sometimes put a damper on the conversation, but you can't complain about their easy-to-walk-to central location. Forget subway; go here for lunch!

A really beautiful place in the heart of Smithville. I enjoyed some of their holiday drinks, such as the Gingerbread Latte, which was very nice. The atmosphere is nice and quiet, with large windows that provide lots of natural light. There is free WiFi, but I didn't see a lot of people with laptops out, which was refreshing. The prices are great, and they have a rewards program that can earn you a free drink. I didn't get a chance to try the patio, as it was cold out, so I look forward to visiting again in warmer weather.

Pioneer followed Covid19 protocols. All furniture was sanitized after being used. I witnessed this happen several times. The barista washed his hands before preparing my drinks and in between customers. Customers wore masks. I would describe pioneer as a third wave coffee establishment. Equipment. They use a Nuova Simonelli Mythos Commercial Espresso Grinder and a La Marzocco Linea Commercial Dual Boiler Italian Espresso Machine. I witnessed pour over coffees brewed in a Kalita Wave 185 dripper. They currently use excellent coffee from specialty coffee roaster Theory Coffee Roasters from Redding, CA. The single origin coffee pour over I ordered was excellent. It was clean with a great after taste. I also ordered a cortado. It too was excellent. Presentation. The pour over coffee was served with a Kalita Wave carafe and a Lino coffee mug on a white plate. Personally, I think Pioneer should swap out the white plate for a wooden tray. The Kalita carafe just didn't fit right in the tray and made too much noise when replacing it after pouring my coffee. I think a wooden tray of some sort would go better with the decor. Decor. I'd describe the decor as a barn/farm/rustic/lodge. Old farm equipment decorates the walls and spaces. Edison lights hand from the walls. Old window frames hang on one wall. I love how they broke up the space by creating separate comfortable sitting area. The Brown, rustic cushioned seats and brown cushioned sofa are super comfortable and the animal skin rug gives the space a lodge like feel. The bathroom was super clean and spacious. They have a traditional third wave coffee menu. They serve tea and some food and treats. There is a cooler with bottled soft drinks etc.

You find so much the same, seemingly caught in time, and other things have greatly changed. Goldberry is one of those "new to me" additions to Ashland, and every time I walk through its doors, I find myself grateful that it is a part of this town's growth and change. Brightly lit, warmly modern, with touches of wood, crisp white, and greenery, the shop holds ample space to gather together with friends or sit comfortably by oneself, sipping an espresso, cortado, or dirty chai with almond milk (my personal choice today) while people-watching or reading a book. Tall windows line the front of the building, looking out upon a bustling parking lot and side-street as multiple baristas efficiently work away behind the bar. Fresh donuts were being sold at a stand as I entered, along with bagged beans and a variety of other bottled/canned beverages. People sat outside, in groups around larger tables, or in more relaxed leather chairs, animatedly caught up in conversation. Goldberry feels like a true 'third place' in Ashland - not your home, not your workplace, but that third place where you go to meet friends, begin your day, or center yourself before stepping out into the world. It's fittingly named in that light, given that Goldberry is the warmly welcoming, hospitable, and wise woman in JRR Tolkien's work who offers comfort and guidance to questing hobbits, the beautiful and mysterious 'river-woman's daughter' who married the enigmatic Tom Bombadil, a man whose magic was older than time. This coffee shop is all of those things: welcoming, warm, bright, and more than a little magical, glowing like a water-washed jewel - or fairly-sourced coffee bean - in the midst of this ever-changing tiny mid-Ohio town. I'll be back.

We did so and then found a booth to sit at. They have water and glasses available to serve yourself. So many drink options are available too. Next time for sure I'll try one of those. I got the beer cheese smash burger and an order of the Reuben fries they had as a special for St Patrick's Day. I didn't look at the price so I was a bit shocked when my bill was $25 for those two items. $15 for fries. It's a good thing they were delicious. I absolutely loved the burger served in a pool of cheese! For someone that loves cheese it was great to dip every bite of my burger in it. The grilled onions were cooked perfectly and the burger was fresh and quality. I also had the chance to try a couple of the cheese curds my mom had ordered with her quesadilla smash burger. They were so different from the cheese curds I'm used to getting. Cut into cubes and lightly battered. Served with a ranch dipping sauce. They were good. It may be slightly expensive but the fact it's freshly made helps ease that. The three of us were in agreement, we would definitely return. I would like to try some of their other items.
