I'd say the only 5 stars for me were the workers who actually put the flooring in. They were quick, efficient, and very accommodating. If I could have gone with just the workers, that would have been great. The only issue we had was the fact that the company threw on a $6,000 up charge after they tore everything out. They had to level one of our rooms with cement and have to get subflooring everywhere. Why was this not included in the original cost? And after I said that was a crazy amount to tack on, the lady on the phone rudely said "well you can just do it yourself then" so 5 stars to the workers, 3 stars to the company. Apparently their "pay before we do the work" ended up being a flexible "policy", at least in my case. The material that was installed was, as I stated previously, "something that we could live with". Avoid This Company - Bait-and-Switch Tactics, Hidden Fees, and Poor QualityI highly recommend avoiding this company due to dishonest sales practices, hidden charges, and terrible workmanship. Bait-and-Switch on Materials: During the initial LVP Flooring and stairs quote, I showed the salesperson, Tyler, a picture on my phone of exactly how I wanted the stair nosing installed. He explicitly agreed to it. However, the final installation used a completely different, lower-quality material. When I confronted the agent, Dawn, she told me it would cost an additional $1,700 to fix it to match what was originally promised. Stairs are now in falling Hazard. Hidden Fees & Aggressive Billing: They automatically charged my credit before the installation even began. Once half the work was completed, the installers stopped and demanded an extra $1,160 for floor leveling. They had already charged me near about $400 for a skim coat/patching/leveling. When I argued, they suddenly dropped the price to $590, proving the initial upcharge was arbitrary. Poor Installation & Cheap Materials: The very next day after completion, the stairs they installed already came off. The installers had to return to fix it immediately. The materials used feel cheap and unsafe. Unprofessional Customer Service: When I called Dawn to resolve these issues and stated I would leave an honest Google review, she rudely told me, "Don't threaten us." on installation, i had carpet installed through my whole house. had an issue with where they connected the carpet in the hallway. 4 times someone came out and could not fix it. so they replace all the carpet and i thought great. OF course i had to pay $500 for installation. which i thought was not my fee. NOW, there is a hump between the front room and dining room. When i had the inspector come to my house. We were told that the price is the same regardless if the floor is bare and ready to go or if it has old carpet that needs to be ripped out. Installers were sent to my home on 05/08/2026. The next day I realized my $200 robovac was missing. I called the company and was told they subcontract for installers. When I requested the subcontractors name, I was refused the information and told that the installers said they didn't take the robovac. The customer service rep basically insinuated I was lying. Out of all things to falsely report stolen it definitely wouldn't have been a vacuum cleaner. The customer service rep asked me why would they steal a vacuum cleane? I requested very low nap carpet. Stressing that she was 85. They sold me what all their wheelchair clients use. The salesman had me 'spin a wheel to determine my discount', which may have been more believable if that schtick had happened after he calculated my bill. They installed it quickly, and I could readily feel the tacks in several areas when walking barefoot. Mom couldn't move on it. She could not move around within her own home easily. I called them requesting a different salesman. They sent someone who could not measure what I requested. Then they sent the same guy that sold me the product that was not fit for purpose. I ended up having it ripped out, and carpet glued to the floor. They offered no discount to recarpet an area that had been carpeted just a few months earlier. Now? The carpet is pulling out from one of the transition strips. They're awful. Just bought a house. Carpet Guys will never step into a property that I own. read more

My carpet from Carpet Guys is now a year old. It started snagging on my 2 cats trimmed nails about 5 months in. I first trimmed to snags with scissors but soon discovered the fibers ALL pull right out of the carpet! There clearly is not enough glue holding it together. I like many pet parents, have my own Bissell carpet cleaner and I know how to use it. The carpet guys sent someone to look at it but said the contract REQUIRES me to show a receipt for a professional cleaning before I can file a claim. There are now 100's of snags but the carpet is NOT dirty. Why would I pay a couple hundred dollars just for them to deny fault and blame my pets? I've had pets in my carpeted homes for over 50 years! They sold me junk carpet & I'm warning everyone - to shop somewhere else. read more

Do not rely on this company to honor their warranty. Carpet originally installed in 2017 in living room, which is also the main entry point for our home. Over the winter, we noticed that the seam, which was in the center of our living room was starting to pull apart and fray. In March 2026 I contacted Carpet Guys to initiate a warranty repair. The people that arrived to my house showed up in an unmarked red work van with completely blacked out windows. There were a male and a female, the male didn't speak any English. The male proceeded to peel back the carpet where the seam was failing in order to take photos which further exacerbated the fraying and separating. The only solution offered was to fix it using a patch which required installing a new chunk of carpet, in the middle of my living room. I was then told that someone from the office would call me the following day to discuss next steps. When I received a call from the home office, I was told that the cost would actually be $240, not the $80 amount per the warranty and it was because I was being blamed for the seam failing because I cleaned the carpet and the moisture is what caused the seam to fail. I explained to the representative that we aren't interested in having a patch of brand new carpet in the center of our living room which has carpet that is 8 years old. I also explained that the warranty should not be effected by having the carpet professionally cleaned. The representative then told me to provide her with receipts from the carpet cleaning. Since I don't keep receipts for that type of service, I contacted the carpet cleaning companies that we have used to request any records that they may still have. One of the companies I contacted told me that the seam was likely not sealed which is the cause of it failing now. We had another professional come out to look at the carpet and it was confirmed that the seam was in fact not sealed when it was originally installed which does not conform to the Carpet and Rug Institute installation standards. Carpet Guys refuses to properly correct the issue which stemmed from their inadequate installers not sealing the seam of the carpet. They have a "lifetime installation warranty" but then when you try to utilize the warranty, they continue to imply that the carpet is "9 years old" and the seams separating is due to a maintenance issue. Installer David Hunt did a meticulous job from start to finish and his and the office communication was above board. Request him for your next job...highly satisfied! This review is a bit delayed, but nonetheless I wanted to share my experience. In a nutshell, I would not use The Carpet Guys again. 1. They continually advertised that they could have flooring installed by 10/31/25, or its free. When I choose one of the carpets the salesman brought to my home, he said it would be weeks after 10/31 to have it installed as they did not have enough in their warehouse. When I brought up the commercial about the 10/31 installation guarantee, he said that is was not true. Ugh. 2. The salesman did not tell us we would have to remove all of the moldings by the floor to have the laminate installed. This was huge! We had just moved in and painted before our flooring was installed so at the very last minute we were tearing our our newly painted moldings. What a mess! 3. Lastly, when the carpet did get installed, there was an extremely noticeable "discoloration" showing. When we called (and provided them pictures of the mess), we were told it was at the end of the roll and it should go away in a few weeks. Absolutely not!! It isn't like this was used carpet. We spent over $12k with this company and this was the product they gave us. The supervisor (I believe his name was Nick) tried to argue with me that I just needed to be patient to have the color difference go away. Funny guy. I had to insist that it needed to be replaced. Would I ever buy from them again.....never. you don't get a detail of what you are actually paying, no breakdown of yardage, no breakdown of what the carpet actually costs, nothing. you just get a total of what you are suppose to pay so you can't even compare it to anyone else. Then it was measured wrong and they had to reorder which meant a delay in installation. The "designer" never offered us a choice of padding, just included what he felt was right in the total cost. So again, I had no idea what we were paying for padding. And to top it off, I get an automated text at 7:00am on a Sunday morning asking me to call (of course they weren't open then) to confirm the installation on a Tuesday. read more

I was told I had a lifetime warranty. today I had service come in and look at a few issues with my flooring. a nail or screw is coming up from the floor and causing a huge bulge in the floor. Today was a great day for me and my family. I visited the carpet guys on 14 Mile and it was an outstanding experience. Me and my family wanted some really nice carpet for my basement and Joe took care of us with kid gloves. We saved hundreds of dollars by going to the carpet guys other places just wanted to rip us off. We explained our budget to Joe and he took care of everything that we wanted and then some. It's pretty nice to see people going extra mile to make somebody else smile. Now I can't wait to get everything painted and carpet installed. We had our carpeting installed 1/29/26. We can see wrinkles already in the carpeting, no padding was installed near a cabinet where it is very noticable, there is a notable seam near a walk through area. I called to have them come back out-talked to Tiffany. She was pleasant at first until I explained that during the repairs they cannot wear their dirty shoes on our cream colored carpeting. Besides bringing in dirt, germs etc. I asked that they wear shoe covers. Tiffany stated they would not be wearing shoes covers or removing their shoes. I asked to speak to a different person about this issue. Her whole attitude changed then-she got snippy stating EVERYONE is in a meeting and they would not call back until tomorrow. I asked for a name, she coldly stated, I don't have one, I asked when could I expect a call, she stated during our business hours. I asked what they were and she said 9-5. We had our installation yesterday, prior to arrival I was told they'd call letting us know when they'd be here, about how long they'd be here, and if we were their only stop of the day, they called saying they'd be here in 20 minutes with no time to prep (it was 8am and I was just waking up with my 5 month old) We were pretty stuck in a back room for a good majority of the morning which made it really hard. They gave me no estimate as to when they'd be done, they were aware or what they'd be doing at our house until I made him aware they were having to tear up different flooring that was in the receipts, and at the end the installer pressed me to leave a review at that exact moment, grabbed my phone, clicked 5 stars and walked around with my phone taking pictures without me saying he could. I'm pretty baffled that that's probably how all these reviews were 5 stars. It's only been a few years since The Carpet Guys installed carpet and the carpet looks like it needs replacing plus it needs stretching every where. We are not happy with the quality of the carpet or the install for what we paid. Plus the installers destroyed our walls and ceiling in the en-suite when they moved furniture from the bedroom to the bathroom, hit the wall and ceiling multiple times. Unbelievable! I received multiple quotes but ultimately went with The Carpet Guys because of the sales rep. Maz's explanation of fiber colors and how I could use a bleach and water solution to clean if necessary. With kids and dogs, I was sold! They said they would call between 8-9am on installation day to let me know when they'd come. They called at 8:59am, so I appreciate that they were still within the limit! The installers, Edgar and Leo, came when they said they would. They were friendly, professional, and cleaned up after themselves. They explained what they needed to do, such as removing closet doors. I recently had carpeting installed in my attic by The Carpet Guys. The whole experience was great. Chris the salesman was great and spent time with me explaining the process, helping me choose the right carpet for the specific area of my house ( in this case the attic). He was professional and easy going and respectful of our space. Amado and Miguel installed our carpet and were very professional, did a great job and were clean. They were very happy to lucky and worked hard to get the job done perfect! The front office has been great as well. Always kind and courteous and patient as we had to push our install a couple of times. Needless to say, I will use them again in the future. I highly recommend The Carpet Guys. My husband and I went into the Carpet Guys Showroom on 14 mile to look at new carpet for our living room and office. Our main concern and requirement was that the carpet be pet friendly due to us having 2 dogs and 2 cats and a baby on the way. The two sales people there talked us into and sold us the Dream Weaver brand for being pet friendly and durable. Our installation was on 9/12 and not even after a week of having the carpet installed we were already finding pulls and unraveling of the carpet. I called the carpet guys on 10/16 to inform them about the performance of the carpet and my dissatisfaction, they sent out a service member to do an "inspection" which really just involved him fixing the installation guys' sloppiness and cutting off the pulls and unraveling carpet. He said there could be many causes of the unraveling including my pets, vacuum, or the lack of adhesive on the back side of the carpet. We looked at the extra carpet I was given and it did look to not have full coverage of backing to it, but the service member said he could not make any determinations himself and would need to talk to the ladies in the office to see how they could move forward. I was told I would be kept in contact, but never heard back so I called the office on 11/5 for an update. At this time I was told the service member who came to my house has been out of the office for some time and that they didn't have any updates for me, but would call me back the next day to provide updates. I never received a call back and called the office again on 11/8 when I was told they could submit a claim to the manufacture and it would take 3-4 weeks to hear back, so I said go ahead. I called again on 12/2 to get an update and there was no record of my claim so the lady told me she would call me back the next day. I waited until 4:30pm the next day without a call and called the office to hear that my claim was submitted (not given an exact date of when) but it takes 6-8 weeks to hear back. I would like to highlight, whether the issue is with the product quality or the pushy/un-knowledgeable sales people, never have I denied my pets caused the pulls or unraveling of carpet. However, this carpet was sold to me knowing I had multiple pets, with me and my husband specifically asking for durable carpet and the sales people specifying that this carpet would hold up to the demands of our household. I understand that things deteriorate quicker with pets, however, in 2.5 months our carpet should not be unraveling at all. I'm extremely displeased with the push from the sales people to buy a product that is not what we asked for and with the lack of care from the installation/service team of following up with these issues. This is not what I was told (by the sales people) to expect from this company, I was told I'd be getting superior product, installation and service (all of which I'm extremely displeased with). For those of you looking for new carpet, we had all the bedrooms and hallways in our house carpeted through Lowe's (the same week as the carpet guys installed our living room and office carpet) and they followed up multiple times after installation to ask about our satisfaction and make sure we didn't have any concerns. This carpet from Lowe's has held up as you would expect for 2.5 months and still looks brand new. I would recommend them for all your carpet needs. read more

I had carpet installed on 5/2/25. It is 6/12/25 and am still waiting for a nose strip at the top of my stairs and I've been told it's on backorder. The first time I was told it was on backorder until 5/30/25 and today I called and was told it is on backorder until 7/31/25. It looks terrible and no one is helping me resolve this issue. The Carpet Guys hires young men and trains them to be polite and presentable when selling carpet to unsuspecting homeowners. But be warned, the Beaver Cleaver lookalike who signed you up for a free estimate or convinced you that you were signing a contract for a great deal won't be the one installing your carpet. It will be quite the opposite experience with their countless incompetent subcontractors. After waiting a month, a subcontractor came to my house to install hard flooring with a second team to come out the following day to install carpet in the hallway and staircase. This subcontractor did not want to deal with one of the subfloors in a room that was uneven. He told me that he could not move forward with the installation and that I may have a leak through the walls. He also left my old carpet that had been pulled out in the front of my house, stating that he did not have room in his van to take it. I ended up spending $85.00 for a plumber to come out to my house to find that (thankfully) there was no leak that the installer had claimed. I called the Carpet Guys to resume the project. A different team of subcontractors came to my home. They stated that due to the challenges of one room I'd have to pay significantly more to have to level the subfloor. I decided to change my order to carpet. By now, I was delayed by two weeks on top of the entire month I had to wait just to have a random subcontractor come to my house. The subcontractors don't bother to contact you until the day of the installation to tell you if they are 30 minutes away. The time window given by the Carpet Guys is anywhere from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, so you may have to wait all day until anyone calls. I had a third team of subcontractors come to my house. I had been waiting since 8:00 AM but they did not call until 10:45 AM to tell me that they were on their way. I met them at my house at around 11:00 AM to get started on this major project. I already knew that if this would be finished in a day, they would have to leave late when snowfall and dangerous road conditions were forecasted. The leader was unprofessional and rude. I saw them cutting the carpet outside on the floor in my driveway while it was snowing and the floor was wet. This is a complaint I saw in another Yelper's Carpet Guys review, so this has not only happened to me. They worked until around 7:00 PM and did a lousy job. I would have preferred that they had come earlier in the day or scheduled the installation over two days for the job to have been done well. There were gaps between the carpet and the walls because of their haphazardly cutting the carpet in the driveway. The carpet was not properly stapled down along the staircase railing. They did not even use their vacuum to suck up the dirt, debris, and nails. I had to spend an entire day to clean this myself. Look at the photo of my vacuum cleaner. Should clean carpet have that much dirt? It's disgusting. They also dinged my wall at the bottom of my staircase. When this was pointed out to the team leader, he was not apologetic in the least. He just said that it happens and left. A work colleague told me that her carpet installers offered to use any leftover paint she had to paint over minor marks they made. The Carpet Guys do not offer this. If their subcontractors mess up your house, it is your problem! I saw another Yelp review mention that she had numerous dings on her walls and the Carpet Guys never took responsibility. The installers refused to leave the leftover carpet they had and a sterling silver necklace could not be found after the installation. I paid $4,405 for lousy work. On the day of the installation, I paid the final COD of $588. I tried calling the Carpet Guys after my installation. Not a single manager was available to speak to me. I had to call numerous times until finally I got a manager on the phone. It took this manager over a week to look into it and I had to call her back for a response. I asked for a $588 refund along with a free roll of carpet. I was told that $588 could not be refunded and that I would be given a piece of carpet. At first they said they would give me only a refund of $100 to patch the hole in my wall, then upped the price to $200 after being told that I would write a bad review. An inspector was sent out to staple the carpet along the staircase, but the ding is still there and they again offered $100 then $200 for all the other issues. They still have yet to contact me again about issuing any refund. I never received a response about the missing necklace, why the carpet was cut in my driveway, the $85 I unnecessarily spent on a plumber, and why the carpet was dirty. This company is shameless and cheap! They treat you like dirt once they have your money and the installation is completed. I normally do not leave reviews for companies with terrible experiences but this company takes the cake. On the day the carpet was Scheduled to be installed I INFORMED THE INSTALLERS TO PLEASE PUT ON BOOT COVERS. This is for both religious purposes and sanitary. Installers agreed, upon arrival no boot covers. They were unable to speak or understand English. Extremely frustrating. We paid over 6k for the carpet that was measured 2x to be cut in the street where oil stains, feces, urine, etc. Why not precut like other carpet companies ? This was a option after the carpet was ripped up and then another install appointment would be required. After the carpet was cut in the street with traffic, they walked on both the padding and new carpet with there shoes. I told the installers that this was unacceptable. They told me they could vacuum the odor or stains. Contacted the company and spoke with the infamous Tiffany for installation. She was a nightmare, rude and should be in a different field like maybe collecting trash to match her personality. BUYER BEWARE AFTER SPEAKING TO THE SUPERVISOR THIS IS THERE NORMAL PROCESS.
