I'm not exactly sure how we came across The Celebrated Flower, but they did a great job for our wedding in October 2010. Our major goal when it came to flowers was to find some seasonal flowers which weren't flown in from 5,000+ miles away. Mark, the owner, was completely understanding of this (somewhat odd?) request and helped us create some beautiful assemblages. We were initially also concerned that he would blow us off because we were just looking for a small bouquet and a few corsages (we did our own centerpieces and arrangements). Mark did the flowers for our May 2010 wedding and they were beyond gorgeous. But more than that, he was so easy to work with. My husband and I met with him just once for about a half hour, we looked through the books of his work, told him what we liked and what we didn't, and pouf, he had designed perfect bouquets and chuppah decorations and corsages, etc. He doesn't need a ton of direction - just give him a sense of your taste and he follows through with real professionalism and an eye for beauty. We also decided last-minute that we wanted him to construct our chuppah as well, and he was zero fuss about it -- just made it happen like it was nothing. Mark and Lou are amazing! They did a wonderful job designing the personal flowers and ceremony florals for my wedding. My bouquet was everything I had imagined and I loved it. My photographer commented it was the best bridal bouquet that he had seen in 20+ years of shooting weddings! The corsages, bouquets, and floral bracelets were perfect! I would recommend them to anyone getting married in the Boston area and will use Mark anytime I need a floral display for the rest of my life. All we said to Mark was that we liked the color yellow and wanted fun flowers. Mark's creations were absolutely perfect. After a one hour meeting fliping through photos of Mark's creations and pointing out what we liked Celebrated Flower absolutely nailed our taste. Guests still talk about the beautiful and creative flowers. Mark was amazingly accomodating - adjusting to our out of town schedule, doing a preliminary meeting over the phone and not complaining once about set up and delivery logistics. Our wedding was at the Boston Public Library and delivery had to be late on Saturday after the library closed and installation quick before the ceremony started an hour later. Mark had everything set up perfectly in no time. We met with Mark after being underwhelmed by several "high-end florists" in Boston. Mark was much more reasonable by all metrics - timing, transparency, price and attitude. Most important, his flowers looked better and his designs were more creative. We could not have asked for a better relationship. Unlike many other florists, Mark didn't hear wedding and then triple his prices. Mark made the bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages for my September 2010 wedding. I was so impressed and pleased with his work that this review won't even do him justice. We made our own centerpieces and were originally going to do our own bouquets after some of the ridiculous quotes we received. However, a lot of people began suggesting we get the bouquets professionally done, so we decided to meet with Mark. My husband and I met with him twice. The first time for about 20 minutes. We had no idea what we wanted so we kept going back and forth with the style we wanted - jumping from a bouquet of only roses to a wildflower bouquet with 10 different flowers. We weren't helpful at all! However, Mark was extremely patient with us. When it came time to talk budget, he was extremely flexible. He worked with our budget and made suggestions on how we could stay within budget. This was really what won us over especially after several meetings with people who wouldn't budge (and in this economy!). The second time we met for about 10 minutes. We brought him samples of our colors and a piece of my dress to wrap around my bouquet and more pictures of bouquets I liked which probably conflicted with what we had decided on the last time. By the time we left, we basically just told him to do what he wanted - leaving it all up to him. Mark did a fabulous job with the flowers for our wedding in November 2010. He came highly recommended from someone who hires him regularly for work functions. He spent at least an hour with my fiancee and me, showing us photos and asking us questions to help us figure out what we wanted. He had a very thorough checklist to ask about all the flowers that we might possibly want - even things that hadn't occurred to us like flower petals with the placecards, an arrangement for the appetizer table, a topper for the cake, and what to do to keep everyone happy about corsages when there's an unofficial stepmom on the scene. Mark at The Celebrated Flower is amazing. First off, take a look at his website. Its beautiful and all the flowers are original creations. I emailed him though his website and he called me back right away (not like some other florists). He was the second or third florist I had contacted and he gave me some great ideas for my daughter's wedding. He showed me some pictures on the website while we talked and I could tell that he was passionate about what he does. When I told my daugter about my conversation with Mark, she looked at the website and said--lets go meet him. He met with us within the week and we also got to meet his cute litlle dogs!! What we really liked about the meeting was that he brought out actual flowers and put together some sample bouquets. He had sample cloth backgrounds so we could put the flowers up to the sample to see how it would look against navy (color of attendants dresses). It was so much fun as well. A day or two before the wedding I called and told him I'd need a few flowers for the cake and that was no problem. Well let me tell you, these flowers were gorgeous! Besides my daugther, the flowers were the most beautiful part of the wedding. He even added a new flower to the bouquest which he hadn't showed us before and it was exquisite! We took many pictures of just the flowers alone. His prices are very competitive as well. I took a few business cards as I have a few co-workers who are engaged and will recommend him to them! I hired Celebrated for my wedding and unfortunately didn't get all that I asked for. I asked for a small cascading bridal bouquet and got a round one. I asked for natural reception centerpieces that extended somewhat onto the table and again got small round ones. I dont think I could have been any clearer. They even used my language on the order form. I would suggest pictures of what you want to be sure. read more
