She retraumatized me by making me write out my trauma and reread it every day to myself and her while I was currently in an unsafe environment. I can say that this did not alleviate the trauma symptoms and rereading it and reliving it every day only made my symptoms worse which she gaslit me and reassured me that it would subside. The trauma has not subsided and I got fired from my job for having severe symptoms which I experienced alone loosing the ability to afford therapy. This is absolute negligence and comes from a dangerously uninformed non- trauma-informed lens. This approach is not empirically supported and she touts. This experience added to my trauma and I spent an insane amount of money only to be gaslit, retraumatized, and revictimized.

While I understand you were busy during the summer with people on a wait list and trying to get them with a therapist, what I didn't like was that no one called me to give me any updates as to when someone would call me. Every time they gave me an approximate date, that date would go by and no one would get back to me. Then I would call again, and get no response. Finally someone called me back and said "based on my review (I assume on Yelp) they have decided I should go somewhere else for therapy". All I was ever asking for was that someone keep me posted on the timeline for expecting to be assigned a therapist. I was told one thing, and then that changed to another time, and then that date passed. When a prospective therapy client is in urgent need of help, that is no way to treat them (by rejection). I may have been impatient, but also I think CIP should improve its communication with its prospective clients. After all the cost share fee (mine was $45) is still alot of money if you pay weekly. I think CIP is very unprofessional, and cares more about their organization and their interns and staff than about the people they serve, who they also charge for services

Then the s**t hit the fan and I learned that talk therapy appointments were doled out like gold. I could get in to see someone once every 6 weeks or so, but weekly? Only if I wanted to call with my weekly crisis and beg to see a therapist du jour, retelling the whole ugly story anew each week until, whoops, time's up! Sometimes in the midst of a storm there's a calm moment and you can see clearly enough to say "I'm sorry you went through all of that schooling only to work for an organization that thinks it's acceptable for you to provide appointments once every six weeks to people in crisis." Then you listen to the dead silence on the other end of the line and then you act. CIP was there for me when I needed them. My initial call was met by an intake counselor with an ear for listening. She then set up the weekly appointments I felt were necessary. It's not a perfect situation: As others have noted, these are therapists-in-training. All sessions are audio taped (with your prior consent) and reviewed after the fact by a licensed therapist who then discusses what they hear with your trainee. On the plus side however, you actually may benefit by having both a licensed therapist and a trainee working to help you (albeit, the licensed therapist is in the shadows, never to be seen by you). You also benefit by getting actual weekly therapy appointments with the same therapist in training. Further, you get all of this on a sliding scale which is based on your personal income and circumstances. There's some paperwork to complete but it's not onerous and prices seemed reasonable (I was paying $65 per session). I'm happy that I don't have a current need for CIP's services but I'm not foolish enough to think that I might never need them again. They perform a great service for the community and I hope they'll still be performing it again, when the need arises.

They worked to manage my meds very hard and when I emailed them, they, or someone from the office, would email or call me back in about 30 minutes or less. I think I have been seeing them for my meds for 6 or 7 years and I fully recommend them. Simon is the behind the scenes man that runs the TMS machines that will help relax, bipolar, PTSD, paranoid, schizophrenia, effective disorder, anxiety, depression and many other mood disorders. She explained that it only works 60% of the time and I would have to come 5 times a week for six weeks. She said it would be most effective if I am consistent and don't take breaks. I cleared my calendar and committed to the treatments. Halfway through, without notice or explanation, she told me she would be gone for a month. I told her I had committed to this time and she said only that "it couldn't be helped." I asked if someone could cover her and she said "no." We would resume when she came back and she would add extra sessions. I told her I had already made other plans and she just shrugged and repeated "it couldn't be helped ." Clearly, her time was more valuable than mine and, as a patient, I came second. I've never known any doctor, especially a mental health doctor, who didn't have a backup in case of emergency and would abandon a depressed patient. We finished treatment and it didn't help me at all. She said she didn't know if it was because of the break or if I was part of the 40% who didn't respond. She said we could wait a while and start over without any breaks and i said "no thanks." It would mean another huge commitment of time for me and more income for her. I found her practice to be very unprofessional bordering on malpractice and would not recommend her.

Dr. Daniel did a lot of pricy and questionable testing and put me on 41 pills a day of either supplements or prescription medicine. I developed a concerning medical condition I'd never had before that made me feel sicker than ever, requiring me to stop eating many foods, and made me so fatigued, all I could do was lie on the couch most days for months. It was miserable. I finally got fed up with her after the second time she raised her prices significantly during the pandemic and fired her. I had spent tens of thousands of dollars on her appointments, testing and supplements. I immediately went off of everything she had prescribed and felt so much better within two weeks. My health has been just fine since I stopped following her advice 18 months ago. She may have a lot of five-star Yelp reviews but read them closely - few mention good medical outcomes from working with Dr. Daniel. That's because she gives her patients a discount on supplements in exchange for Yelp reviews which they write at the beginning of their treatment before they have any outcomes. Excellent doctor; disappointing practice…read more First of all, Dr. Daniel is extraordinary: extremely well-informed, profound, compassionate, and caring. Working with her had an incredibly positive effect on my health and well-being and I feel so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with her, and get back to optimal health. However, there have been recent changes to the practice that feel de-humanizing. Today, in the midst of a pandemic, I tried to log in to ask a question or make a short appointment, and was told my account was "inactive" as I had not had an appointment in a year. I called to see if I could ask Dr. Daniel, a doctor I really trust, a question or make an appointment, and Jason/Jonathan called me to tell me that I was no longer a patient, and the practice was not accepting new patients. I told him I'd been a patient since 2015, and asked him how I could make an appointment, or ask Dr. Daniel a question, and he said I would need to go online and read about my options, that who knows if I could be seen again, but that I might be a "level 2" or "level 3. " When I asked him what that meant, he said I should go online. As a longtime patient, a mother, and a scientist, I felt hurt and disrespected by this de-humanizing interaction. It seemed that the rug had been swept out from under my feet - I was booted from the practice because I felt well and hadn't had an appointment in a year. These new policies, and the interaction with Jason/Jonathan were the exact opposite of my previous experience with Dr. Daniels (warm, humanizing, caring). He left me with no other option than to seek other care.

As a Clinical Psychologist, he cannot write prescriptions but really knows medicine ... western, eastern and holistic, and is happy to make recommendations to my doctors. He's very accessible and has always answered his phone when I've tried to call him. He knows the community well and is happy to make referrals if he thinks they can help you. In a country that is suffering from epidemics of anxiety and depression, we need more therapists like Dr. Davis. I respect and trust him completely.
